Rapunzel
I really enjoyed writing this one. I chose to do Flare as the main character in this story, mainly because she has long hair that moves like Rapunzel's, but also because I really like Flare. This story will also be a what if kind of story as it will be after the Grand Magic Games, but instead of them getting captured, Raven Tail got away. So, I hope you enjoy this one.
Main Character: Flare
Disney story prompt for March 7th: Rapunzel
Flare screamed as she was pushed into the room and landed hard on the floor. She looked up and stared at Ivan. "I'm sorry," she called out.
"If Obra hadn't stopped that Celestial mage, you would've lost," he said angrily. "I have no need for useless trash that can't even defeat on of the fairy scum on her own."
"Please. I'm sorry. I'll do better next time," she begged.
"You will remain in this tower until I decide what to do with you," he continued, ignoring her plea. He turned and walked out the door.
Flare got up and ran to the door, but it disappeared before she could open it. She looked around and saw a windo on the other side ofthe room and ran to it. She tried to open it, but it wouldn't budge. "He sealed me in here," she said with a defeated tone.
She turned around and saw that there was a small kitchen area, a bed, a dresser, a bookshelf with a few books, and another door that was open, but it was only a bathroom. She walked over to the bed and climbed on it, curling herself into a siting ball at the head of the bed, and wrapped her long, red hair around her like a blanket.

Lucy walked next to Natsu as they traveled down the path. They had just finished a job, and because it was such nice weather, Natsu convinced her to walk back to the guild instead of taking a train or carriage.
"I'm hungry, Luce," Natsu whined.
"Well, maybe you shouldn't have eaten all your snacks the moment we left for this job," Lucy said not very sorry for the dragon slayer.
"But I was hungry," Natsu defended.
"You're always hungry, Natsu," Happy said. He was flying in between the two wizards.
"I can't help it!" Natsu yelled. "Fighting takes a lot of energy."
"I'm sure we'll come across a town soon enough. Just be patient," Lucy said.
"Patients not in Natsu's vocabulary," Happy teased.
"I can be patient!" Natsu yelled at his best friend.
Lucy just laughed.
They walked a few more miles, Happy and Lucy talking about random things, while Natsu put his two cents in every once in a while, until Natsu stopped and looked into the forest.
"What's wrong?" Lucy asked a bit nervously.
"It's not a monster, is it?" Happy asked fearfully.
Natsu sniffed the air a couple more times then smiled. "I smell food." He ran off into the forest.
"Natsu! Wait for us!" Lucy yelled as she and Happy chased after him.
They soon came to a tall, brick tower. It had to be at least four stories tall and had vines growing up and around it.
"Who do you think lives here?" Happy asked.
"A dragon?" Natsu asked hopefully.
"Natsu, princesses are usually the ones in towers, not dragons," Lucy said. "Let's look for a way in to see if anyone's in there."
They walked around the tower, but didn't see any doors. Happy flew up to them. "There's a window at the top," he said.
The followed the flying cat around the tower until the window was visible. "Happy, did you see anyone inside?" Lucy asked.
"No," the blue cat replied, "but I saw a door in there. Maybe they're in that room."
"We don't even know if there is anyone here," Lucy said.
"But the food smell is coming from there. That's gotta mean someone's up there, right?" Natsu asked.
"I guess that's true. Happy, can you see if you can get in?" Lucy asked.
"Aye, Sir," the cat replied as he saluted then flew up to test the window. He came back a few seconds later. "It opened pretty easily."
"Alright. Let's go get some food!" Natsu yelled.
"We can't just barge in there and demand food," Lucy berated him. "We need to introduce ourselves first, then, if they offer, we can get some food."
"Fine. Then let's go," Natsu said impatiently.
Lucy shook her head. "Can you take us up there, Happy?"
"Aye, but I'll have to take you one at a time," Happy replied.
"Go ahead and take Lucy up first. She'd be better at explaining things than me," Natsu said.
Happy nodded and picked Lucy up by the back of her shirt and flew up tot he window. He let her go when she got seated on the window sil and flew down to get Natsu.
"Hello?" Lucy called out. Like Happy said, the room was empty, but she did smell the food Natsu was talking about.
Natsu climbed through the window, Happy following, and walked over to Lucy, who was checking the bookshelf. "Did you find out who lives here?"
"No," she replied as she picked up a book she'd never saw before. "No one answered when I called out."
"Do you think they'd care if I took some food?" he asked looking over at the pot that was cooking on the stove.
"Just be patient," she said. "Since the stove is still on, that means they'll be back soon."
Natsu pouted and crossed his arms.
Flare sat up in her tub when she heard a noise come from the main room. She stared at the door for a minute, but sighed and sank back down in the water. 'There's no way anyone else would be here. It's probably just my food delivery.' She closed her eyes and relaxed again.
She opened her eyes again when she heard someone call out. "What?" she questioned as she sat back up. She stared at the door again and listened carefully to see if they spoke again, and they did. She heard two people talking.
She quickly got out, dried off, and put on her clothes. 'People! Actual people!' She smiled and placed her hand on the doorknob. "Wait. How did they get in?" She opened the door and who she saw surprised her. "Blondie?"
Lucy turned around quickly and her eyes went wide. "Flare?"
Natsu frowned and stepped in front of Lucy. "You live here?" he asked a bit angry. He remembered what she did to Lucy, and he wouldn't let that happen again.
"Well, it's more like I'm trapped here," Flare said.
"Trapped?" Lucy questioned as she pushed Natsu to the side gently and took a step closer to the red head. "What do you mean?"
"Master Ivan locked me in this tower as punishment for not beating you on my own," Flare replied.
"So you did cheat," Natsu stated more than asked. He had his fists clenched.
Lucy turned to him. "Please, Natsu, calm down." She turned back to Flare. "How long have you been trapped in here?"
"About two months," Flare replied sadly.
"Two months?" Lucy asked surprised. "That would've been around the time of the Grand Magic Games."
"Yeah. After we were disqualified and escaped the authorities, Master Ivan brought me here and left me to rot," she said a bit angry, but then looked down sadly. "I've been alone ever since. He somehow removed the door and I couldn't open the window, and no one ever comes by. The most they do for me is send food supplies and other necessities through an one-way portal."
"But the window opened easily for me," Happy said.
"It must have had a spell on it that only kept Flare from opening it," Lucy said.
"You got to help me, Blondie," Flare said desperately as she walked up to Lucy and grabbed her shoulders, surprising the blonde. "Please."
Natsu grabbed Flare's wrist and pulled her away from Lucy roughly. "Keep your hands off her," he growled.
Flare glared at his hand then at his face. She wrapped her hair around him and held him up in the air as well as covered his mouth. "I wasn't hurting her," she said menacingly, "but I can always hurt you."
Lucy reached out and placed her hand on Flare's shoulder. "Whoa. Hold on a minute." She turned to look at the struggling dragon slayer, who was attempting to burn his way out of the hair, but because she was a fire wizard too, it didn't work. "Natsu, I don't think she means us any harm. She's been trapped here for two months, alone. Wouldn't you be deprate to get out of here if it was you?"
Natsu glared at the red head. He tried to say something, but thanks to the hair over his mouth, they didn't here him.
Flare removed the hair from his mouth. "What was that?"
"I said fine, but if you so much as touch Lucy again, I'll roast you alive," he said angrily.
"Ok," Flare said. She lowered him back to the ground and released him before turning back to Lucy. "So, you'll help me, Blondie?"
"Her name is Lucy," Natsu said still aggravated.
"I'm sure she knows, Natsu," Lucy said. "Yeah. We'll help you."
"Oh, thank you, Blondie," Flare exclaimed and hugged her.
"Hey, what did I just say?" Natsu yelled and stepped toward her, but Lucy held up her hand.
"I'm fine. It's just a hug," Lucy said.
Natsu crossed his arms and continued to glare at the red head.
Flare pulled back and smiled at Lucy. "I can't wait to get out of here." She turned and wondered around the room, gathering some things into a bag, and stopped at the stove and turned it off. "You can have some if you'd like."
"Is it poisoned?" Natsu grumbled.
"Natsu!" Lucy yelled as she smacked his arm.
"Ow! What was that for?" he asked as he rubbed his arm.
"Stop being rude."
"I don't blame him for acting the way he is," Flare said as she poured the soup into a large container. "I did try to hurt you pretty badly last time we met."
"But you've changed. I can see it," Lucy said.
Flare looked at her shocked then smiled. "I'd like to. After what Master Ivan did, and the fact no one bothered to even check on me, I don't want anything thing to do with them or my old life." She placed a lid on the container and walked over to Natsu and held it out. "Call it a peace offering."
Natsu just stared at it.
"Take it, Natsu. You did say you were hungry, right?" Lucy said.
Natsu looked at Lucy, then at Flare, and finally back at the container and sighed as he took the container. "Alright, fine. But I'll be keeping my eye on you."
Flare smiled at him, then walked to the window. She took a deep breath and pushed her hand out the window and was glad to see that there was no barrier. She had her hair grab onto a beam on the ceiling, climbed on the window sil, and held her hand out to Lucy. "You can go down with me."
Lucy smiled and took her hand. The hair wrapped around the two girls and they jumped out, the hair slowing them down as they reached the grass.
"That was a rush," Lucy said as the hair released her.
"That's what makes it so fun," Flare said with a smile.
Natsu and Happy landed next to them. "Now that you're free, what are you going to do?" Happy asked.
Flare looked at them hopeful. "Well, since I am no longer in Raven Tail, do you think I could join your guild?"
"Of course!" Lucy said happily. "I think you'd fit right in, right, Natsu?"
Natsu had opened the container of soup and was drinking it. He lowered the container and wiped his mouth on the back of his hand. "Well, we accepted Metal head after what he did to our guild, so if you're ok with it, then I don't see why not."
"It'll ultimately be up to the Master though," Happy added.
"Yeah, but he's good about giving people second chances," Lucy said.
Flare smiled. "Thanks, Blondie."
Once they got back to Fairy Tail, Makarov did agree to let Flare join, and they celebrated their new member the way they always did, a big party and lots of drinking.
I really wish that Flare joined Fairy Tail. I really liked her character and wish we could've seen more of her. What do you guys think of Flare? Do you like her or not? Let me know in a comment below as well as your thoughts on this story.
Tomorrow's prompt: Belle. I have been wanting to do this prompt for the last three days. I really hope it turns out the way I want it to.
See you in the next chapter :)
