Chapter 21 - Chaos

"What do we do now?" I asked to no one in particular. We were all laying on the edge of the crater staring at the dark maroon sky. Lilith was cuffed and locked in an ice cage Storm had made in the center of the crater. She was still unconscious from the beating we had served her, but the added cage put us a little more at ease.

"We're all low on magic power," Reiki explained. "Before we can do anything, we need to take time to recover. Otherwise we'll be practically useless in a fight,"

"This just doesn't feel right," Gale explained. "I feel guilty that we're just lying here while the rest of Fairy Tail is off fighting,"

"You all heard what Natsu said," Storm sat up to face us all. "We have to stay alive. We already broke the rules by taking on Lilith, we shouldn't risk picking a fight with any of Tartaros' other big bads while we're low on magic," Gale and I both let out aggravated sighs.

"We've got a problem guys!" Kali announced. We all sat up to face the flying exceed. We had sent her to scout out the area to see if she could find any information. From her expression, whatever she had found was nothing good.

"It's the Face," She explained. "They're everywhere,"

"What?" I questioned. "What do you mean they're everywhere,"

"There are thousands of Face bombs spread out all across the country, and they're all set to go off in half an hour!"

"Well how do we stop them?!" Gale exclaimed.

"I don't know if we can," Storm said. The sky turned black as the sun finally decided to set on the unsettling news. As night fell across the land, it dawned on us that there was no time for us to take a break. Either we fight now, or we don't fight ever again.

"We can't risk Fairy Tail losing this fight," I decided. "We need to end this war once and for all,"

"You foolish children," We all turned back to the crater to find that Lilith had finally woken up. She was clinging to the icy bars of the cage to hold herself upright for us to see her evil scowl. "You're nowhere near strong enough to take on Tartaros. I can sense that your energy levels are almost dangerously low. Those spells you used must have drained all of your magic power. You wouldn't last 15 minutes in a fight with an Etherious," She mocked.

"She's got a point," Storm whispered.

"Drained," I repeated to myself. The word gave me an idea for our next move. I glanced back at Lilith whose lab coat was ripped to shreds. Bulging out of her right pocket was the gun she had used to drain my magic power in the torture chamber. "if we can get that gun out of her pocket then I think we might stand a chance at getting back in the fight,"

I explained to my team about the goons Lilith had sent after me and the weird gun they always used to drain magic power. "I think if we can get her gun, we can use it to steal her magic power and use it to power ourselves up,"

"It's worth a shot," Storm voiced.

"Won't that be really painful though?" Gale pointed out. "Doesn't it borderline on torture? I don't think I can torture someone, even if they are evil,"

Nobody said anything. I thought back to the time that Lilith had used it on me. It had been excruciating...

"So what do we do?"

"Wait what happened to the magic she already stole from you earlier?" Kali asked. "Maybe it's still stored in the gun,"

"If we break the gun, your magic will just rush right out and you can absorb it all up again!" Gale hypothesized.

"I don't know if magic works like that," Reiki pondered.

"It's the best option we've got," Gale said determinedly.

I looked down at Lilith who was scowling at me from her seat in Storm's ice cage. It was like looking at a panther trapped in zoo, ready to pounce at any chance. I knelt down and reached for the gun in her pocket, not breaking eye contact.

"You'll pay for this," She sneered as I pulled out the gun.

"Maybe," I replied. "but you're paying for what you did to me first," I threw the gun to the ground and stomped on it, smashing it to pieces. A golden light began to flow from the broken weapon and towards it's rightful owner. It felt like an energizing wave rushing through me and replenishing the exhausted parts of my body.

When I opened my eyes, I felt brand new. Whatever Tartaros had to throw at me I was ready.

"Kali!" I called out. The exceed came flying behind me, lifting me into the air and soaring towards the fight.

"Good luck Nashi!" Gale yelled. I grinned down at my team, hoping that my confident smile would hide the uncertainty inside me. Then I heard something I never expected - growling. It was far away and I was probably the only one who could hear it.

"Kali stop," I said. Kali stopped and turned us around in the direction it was coming from. I squinted my eyes and I saw a dark figure flying towards us. I watched as the figure got closer and it grew bigger in my sight. Then it roared. I covered my ears from the volume and recoiled in the air.

"What is that?" Kali  yelled. I squinted my eyes at the figure and saw the blue markings that made my heart stop.

"Acnologia," I whispered. The dragon roared again and this time a beam of light erupted from it's mouth in our direction. "Get down!" I shouted. Kali began to fly us toward the rest of our team when the attack hit the ground 20 feet away. The ground burst with a huge explosion and I lost sight of my friends in the fire.

I stared wide-eyed at the fires below me. "STORM!!" I screamed as Kali flew us closer. "GALE! REIKI! SAY SOMETHING!!" I cried out. "Get me closer," I ordered.

"I-if we get any closer, my wings will burn," Kali said shell-shocked.

"We have to find them," I cried. "We can't leave them! What if they're hurt?!" Just then the fires grew taller, almost hitting Kali and I as Acnologia flew over us - ignoring our terror.

"Nashi," Kali cried softly. "I think we need to go,"

"We can't go! They need us!"

"They're gone!" Kali screamed through tears. "They barely had any magic power left, there's no way they could have protected themselves from that," Kali cried.

My lip quivered as tears poured down my face in horror. No no no, they couldn't be gone. We promised to stay alive!

"We gotta go," Kali sniffed as she began to fly in the direction after Acnologia. Up ahead we saw a bright orange light in the sky and another roar. The tears that had fallen down my face now evaporated with the heat of my body. "Nashi?"

"That dragon... is dead," I growled. "Faster Kali!" I barked angrily. Kali did as she was told and accelerated fast enough so we weren't far behind Acnologia. He had stopped over ruins of the cube and was charging up for another attack. Just before he could release it, the chaos dragon was attacked by a dark red dragon that smelled familiar.

"Who's that?" Kali questioned.

"I don't care," I shouted. "Just get me on top of Acnologia!"

Kali gave me a concerned expression, but I ignored it. That dragon would pay for what he did, even if it killed me. Once we were hovering over the chaos dragon Kali gave me another concerned look. "Are you sure about this?" Kali questioned.

"Just drop me," I decided. Kali held on for a few more seconds before she finally let go. The wind rushed past my face as tears flied out. The entirety of my eyes were consumed with golden light and a dark shadow fell over the top of my face. I was 200 feet above Acnologia and falling. "THIS IS FOR MY TEAM!!" I screamed. "SUN DRAGON: ROAR!!!"

I roared at Acnologia with a rage I had never felt before. The spiral of sunlight was as big as a tornado, but to Acnologia it was only a small annoyance. The dragon looked up at my descending body and merely flew out of the way. I fell past him and he paid no attention to my efforts of blind rage. "ACNOLOGIA!!!" I roared in vengeance.

"I gotcha!" Kali swooped in just in time to catch me. The only problem was that she began to fly us toward the ground.

"Kali!" I yelled. "Take me back to Acnologia,"

"You don't stand a chance against him!" Kali cried. "I can't lose you too," the exceed sniffled. My expression remained enraged.

"Let me go!" I demanded. On command I was able to increase my body temperature forcing Kali to drop my steaming body.

"Nashi!" She called out as I fell to the ground. I landed powerfully in what used to be the balcony of the cube. I looked back up at the black dragon of the apocalypse who was roaring and fighting with the scarlet scaled dragon. I growled at my predicament and punched the stone floor.

"And who are you?" A tall man with dark long hair questioned smoothly. He looked fairly clean considering the war we were fighting. Then again, he didn't seem like the fighting type. He was holding a book against his chest that read END on the cover. My glowing eyes merely glossed over him like I was possessed by a force of rage.

"Just stay out of my way," I snarled and turned to leave. That was when he saw the guild mark on my shoulder.

"I'm afraid I can't let a fairy walk away," His voice was like a viper as thorny vines erupted from the ground and ensnared my arms and legs in suspension. I pulled at the thorny vines that cut deeper into my wrists and ankles. I snarled and roared for my release like a wild animal caught in a trap. Mard Geer stalked toward me, observing my erratic behavior. "What on earth made you?"

"I did!!" Natsu slammed his foot square into Mard Geer's jaw, knocking him back several feet. "Fire Dragon Roar!!" The tornado of fire sent Mard Geer even further away from where I was tied up. Natsu quickly turned his attention back to me, "Nashi are you okay?"

All I did was stare at him with my possessed golden-light-filled eyes. "Acnologia's gotta pay! Untie me so I can beat him!" I growled.

Natsu was taken back by my behavior. "Nashi this isn't you! Snap out of it!" He knocked on my head. "What's going on?!"

"Acnologia has to die!! He has to pay for what he did," I snarled.

"What? What happened?" Natsu tried to reason. I roared in discontent and lashed against my thorny restraints, screaming at the world like an enraged beast. "Nashi! What happened?"

Suddenly the vines snapped and I was released. I sprinted at Mard Geer, attacking the nearest enemy with no regard for anything else. "Sun Dragon secret art! Solar Flare!" My spell spiraled out at Mard Geer, burning the vines he tried to use to block my attack.

"She's lost control," Mard Geer whispered as I got closer. I roared and landed a sun dragon iron fist uppercut to the jaw. My eyes were bright as the sun and a shadow over my upper face as something else overcame me and my rage took control.
