Chapter 1 - Graveyard Flowers

January, Year: X791
3 months after the destruction of the eclipse gate.

Natsu:

Natsu slowly made his way down the hill by his home. Lucy had an arm hooked through his, her head hanging low despite the beautiful day. As they made their way to the forest, they passed the kemo kemo seedling by the front of the house. The wind was light and fresh, smelling like the flowers Lucy was carrying.

For the past few days, the celestial wizard had been staying at Natsu's place. Three months ago they had lost Nashi, and less than a month after that Natsu met kemo-kemo and recently lost him as well. To help Natsu feel less alone and depressed, Lucy decided to keep her future husband company.

Neither of them shared a word for the 10-minute walk.

Finally, they came to the clearing. In the seven years that had passed while they were frozen on Tenrou Island, the clearing had become a beautiful sanctuary home to many flowers. It was hard to believe that seven years ago, a certain pink haired time traveler had burned it all to a crisp. In the center was a single headstone. There was no body buried there, but the stone was still carved to honor the wizard who had passed.

When the future team left, they had insisted on bringing Nashi's body back to bury her in her own time. However, the young wizard's body had gone missing and the future team was forced to leave without their comrade. Fairy Tail had launched their own search for her but recovered nothing. Nevertheless, they made a grave to remember and honor the young time traveler.

Lucy sat on her knees before the stone, replacing the old flowers on the grave with new ones. She gave a soft smile admiring the beauty of the intricate carving, Natsu had slaved over every detail for weeks on end and it showed. Etched into the stone was a beautiful fiery sun that shined onto the Fairy Tail emblem. The carving was perfect for Nashi, she would have loved it.

Natsu rested a hand on Lucy's shoulder. He too missed the rebel pinkette with a temper. She reminded him of himself in so many ways and it hurt him to know that she was gone. What hurt him the most was knowing that they'd have to raise Nashi someday, only for her to die in a time that wasn't her own.

In the days after Nashi's death, the guild tried to wrap their heads around the concept of time travel. They came up with several potential strategies that they could use to fix the future so that Nashi wouldn't have to lose her life. Even so, the cruel reality before them broke their hearts. But the time for tears was over now. Nashi wouldn't want them to be sad forever, she'd want them to keep moving forward.

Lucy rested her hand on Natsu's, staring at the flowers resting on the headstone.

"I miss her," Lucy sighed. Her eyes watered as tears threatened to stream down her cheeks. Natsu squeezed her shoulder in comfort. Lucy sniffed and wiped her eyes, taking a deep breath. "She's in a good place," Lucy believed, she looked up at the sky with hope in her heart.

"Yeah I bet she's raising all kinds of hell for everyone upstairs," Natsu smiled. Wherever his girl was, he knew that she was causing trouble in her own quirky way. "We miss you kiddo,"

Also present day
Several miles away from Magnolia
Nashi:

"Sun dragon roar!" A tornado of sunlight went barreling toward the group of thugs. It managed to knock more than 30 men aside.

"Get her," More thugs came running down the empty alleyway.

"Fire Wall," A huge wall of fire and sunlight blocked their path. I heard lots of shouting on the other side, but chose to ignore it. "Next time send tougher opponents!" I shouted back. Pulling the hood of my black cloak back over my face, I stepped into the busy streets.

"They just don't give up, do they," I muttered. Oh well, they won't be able to touch me soon.

The sun was shining and the day was just gorgeous. The breeze was light and the sunshine was warm, perfect weather for being outside. The town of Onibus was not really that busy, but there were enough people to make it seem like home. Home... I was so close to Magnolia I could practically smell it.

Making my way through the streets, I soon found my way to the train station. The mere sight of the moving vehicle made me want to hurl. "God help and forgive me," I muttered, trying to hold down my stomach's protests. Nevertheless, I made my way on the train and found my seat.

"Onibus train to Magnolia is now leaving the station," the intercom announced. Leaning against the window of the train car, I braced my stomach for the worst. Sure enough, as soon as the train started moving my stomach lurched.

"I changed my mind! I'll walk to Magnolia, get me off this death trap!" I screeched to a nearby train attendant.

"Sorry miss, we've already begun our departure. I'm afraid it's too late to get off," The man said with an awkwardly sympathetic tone.

So much for spending a beautiful day outside.

Many hours later.

"Thank God I'm not dead," I croaked. Crawling off the train was not something I was proud of, but it got me off the train nonetheless. For a while, I just laid on the floor of the train station. It got me a few weird looks, but I really didn't care at this point.

"Get it together Nashi, you've gone up against worse enemies than a train. You've gone head to head with Reiki for crying out loud! Granted you lost that fight... That's beside the point! The point is that you're not gonna let some stupid motion sickness take you down! Yeah! You also need to stop talking to yourself out loud like this,"

Eventually I got up, having finally recovered from my motion sickness. On my way out of the station, I picked up a map at the door and stepped onto the streets. It was so early in the morning that it was still dark out and the streets were practically devoid of all life.

I decided to practice saying some of the things I would say to everyone once I saw them.

"Hey guys, I'm alive!
Guess who's back Fairy Tail?!
Anyone miss me?
I'm home!
No, none of those sound right. Hhmm... maybe I should just walk in."

"You're not walking into anywhere,"

I whirled around, my fist already lit with sunlight. I swung at the voice, only to find that he had dodged. He was wearing all black with a dark blue hood. Unfortunately, I underestimated him and I felt a sting in my side as the attacker plunged a syringe into my abdomen.

Crap. I've got five minutes before I black out.

Deciding I was in no position to fight, I ran. I could hear my attacker following close behind, but my vision was starting to blur. I kept running, knowing the way by heart. The assailant was right on my heels. As I ran under a bridge I set off my trap spell. "Fire wall,"

The wall was as tall as a building and as wide as a field. I breathed a sigh of relief thinking that I was safe. "You won't get rid of me that easily,"

Before I could react, three cords were stabbed into my back like garden hoses. I felt the electricity course through my body like a fire on my nerves. With a shriek, I felt magic energy leaving me.

"Light claws," with a swipe of my hand I was able to cut through the hoses trying to steal my magic. "Sun dragon iron fist," with another swing, I knocked the guy to the ground.

3 minutes until I black out.

Without bothering to acknowledge my assailant who was getting back up, I ran down the road. My attacker continued to yell at me from behind as I approached the doors.

2 minutes.

I pounded on the door, praying that people were still inside. Screw it. I threw the door open and slipped in. As soon as I was inside, I pressed against the door in an effort to close it. The guy on the other side banged on the door, pushing against my weight.

1 minute and 45 seconds.

"Take a good look at where you are scumbag. You're banging on the doors of the strongest guild in Fiore," the pounding stopped. "That's right, if you want me you'll have to go through all of Fairy Tail,"

I heard the assailant say a few choice words before he walked away. I was surprised that he would give up so easily, but I'm also positive that if he were to try to get me in here he would be sorely outnumbered.

Realizing that my vision was almost completely dark and I didn't have much time left, I turned around and looked up at the room. Every eye of every Fairy Tail wizard was on me. I gave a sheepish grin that made everyone raise an eyebrow.

"Hey guys," Slowly, I lowered the hood of my cloak, revealing my long pink hair and fanged grin. "Long time no see,"

Before I could see anyone's reaction, my vision went dark and I fell to the floor unconscious.
