The sun rays casts down, increasing the temperatures to almost one hundred degrees for the day. Either people soaked up every bit of sunshine with layers of sunscreen on, or they hid inside blasting the AC to keep themselves cool.

For Lucy Heartfilia, she was taking advantage to get a summer glow for her curvy body.

She blissfully rested on an outdoor pool chair, one leg popped up while the other rested straight as she sunbathed. An exposing light peachy-pink bikini adorned her body, letting most of her sunscreen-covered skin absorb the sun. A frosty glass of water sat next to her on the small table next to her, several droplets of water dripping down the side from the ice cubes melting.

Her eyes peeked open to see a body fling into the pool, their voices yelling "cannonball!" before causing an uproar of water to splash a long distance.

"If one droplet of water touches me, you're all screwed," Lucy bluntly stated, pursing her lips out while waving her celestial keys in the air for a moment before placing them back onto the table. Her long waist-length hair was perfectly in a cute messy bun, and she wasn't planning on ruining that either.

"Well tanning's just boring." A high-pitched voice groaned, sticking his tongue out when her eyes were closed.

Lucy opened her eyelids to see Happy. She clicked her tongue and grabbed her glass of water, taking a few sips through the pink straw. The effort to reply a snarky comment back was too much for her, she was currently in her peaceful state of mind.

"Juvia thinks it's quite refreshing to swim; Love Rival should come in too!" Juvia's voice perked up. The bluenette rested her arms along the side, kicking her feet back and forth in the water.

Lucy half-smiled back, only for the reason of the nickname again. "Thanks, but I'll pass for now. I can't enjoy the rest of summer without a glow."

"Love Rival's welcome any time."

Juvia went back to swimming, mostly making googly-eyes at the shirtless Gray, who had dramatically flopped in the pool.

Lucy took another sip of water for hydration, letting her body relax again to a state of refreshment and calmness.

"Hey Luce!"

Her eyebrows furrowed from the all-too-familiar voice disrupting her time. It was like a blaring horn screaming among a calm meadow, practically scaring off humming birds.

She narrowed her eyes to see Natsu frantically waving at her from the other side of the pool. Out of all the distractions that could've popped up, nothing could beat the pinkette dragon slayer. He was walking in with red swimming shorts and a thin white t-shirt on with a towel draped over his shoulder.

"For the love of God," Lucy mumbled under her breath, wishing that she could've been sunbathing in peace. "Why now?"

"Lucy's being a party pooper cause she's too fat to move!"

A couple loud laughs echoed through the air, mainly from the dragon slayer and the flying exceed.

"Can you shut the fuck up?" Lucy spat.

Every movement stopped at her harsh words, clearly surprised by how direct she was.

Natsu's laughs immediately cut off, a blank expression on his face. He was used to his best friend snapping at them for crude comments, but it was nothing like this. He walked past Happy and around the pool, determined to find out what was bothering her to the point of lashing out that negatively.

He approached her, bringing a random chair close to sit on. "Hey Luce, you okay?"

"I was fine until you guys came." She didn't even open her eyes to respond. Her lips pursed sassily, giving clear signs that she had no motives to keep the conversation going.

Natsu slumps his shoulders, losing a bit of his lively spirit to have fun.

"I'm busy here, so you can do whatever. Just don't bug me." Lucy clarified, hoping that her clear statement would convince him to move along.

A string snapped in him, making him furrow his eyebrows in both slight irritation and confusion. Natsu didn't understand why she was pushing him away, he just knew there was something wrong. His eyes glazed over her body for a few moments, confused thoughts roaming in his head.

"Can you stop making it hotter than it already is? Geez, just go away, Natsu."

"Wait, what?" Natsu questioned, making a face until he looked down at his hands that were engulfed in flames. The hot heat waves emitted from his scorching body, not realizing it when he was lost in though.

He scowled, getting up and kicking the chair behind him. The attitude she was giving him started to rub off, and it was more than frustrating.

"Fine," Natsu muttered, throwing his towel on the chair carelessly. He stripped off his shirt to expose his muscular toned upper body, walking away to the pool to hang out with Gray and Juvia.

He sneakily smirked as he approached the pool, spotting where Gray was. Eyeing his location, Natsu took a few steps back before plunging in, creating a large splash of water to spray right into the ice mages' face.

"You bastard!" Gray yelled, rubbing his eyes for a moment to make sure the water wasn't in them. "You're gonna regret that, Flame Brain!"

Gray lunged at Natsu and grabbed him by his hair, painfully yanking his head down in the water. A hand snatched his ear and pulled hard to make him hiss from the irritation.

While Juvia tried to shout at Natsu for dragging Gray under the water, the blonde's irritation only grew from their loud shouts. It wasn't helping that Happy was cheering the dragon slayer on, only further motivating the two young men to wrestle.

"I give up." Lucy mumbled under her breath, grabbing her water to take a sip before realizing it was completely empty. The effort to fill her water seemed like a burden to do, so she ignored it and decided to check her phone instead.

After the two finally managed to part before drowning each other, they swam to the side of the pool to give their bodies a rest. It was one thing to wrestle, but it was another to try beating each other up in the water that slowed down movements, making it more difficult to throw punches.

Gray pulled himself out of the pool and shook his wet hair, water droplets flinging everywhere. He wrinkled his nose at the blaring sun, already feeling the heat cast down on his body. As an ice mage, he used his magic to cool himself off with an icy glaze, the air around him chilling to the touch.

"C'mon Happy, we can have fun without Elsa!" Natsu cheered, receiving a disapproving glare from Juvia. The two began to splash each other, cracking up even more.

While they were distracted, Gray walked and took the seat next to Lucy to take a breather.

"That actually feel really nice," Lucy laughed as she felt the cooling air. Her eyes opened to see Gray emitting a chilling coolness from his body.

Gray chuckled. "I'm sure it does, I'll keep doing it if you want."

Lucy finally smiled from his kindness. "That'd be nice for a few more minutes."

Gray scooted the chair closer to her, not minding helping out his friend. They were extremely close, but it was platonic. They've established their close friendship like that, both knowing their secret admirations for someone in particular.

"Love Rival shouldn't be that close to Gray-sama." Juvia hissed dramatically, glaring by the edge of the pool to make sure Lucy didn't try anything.

Natsu raised an eyebrow at Juvia's comment. His emerald eyes made their way back over to Lucy, immediately transitioning from glancing to glaring.

Happy covered his mouth to stiff back a few laughs. "Someone's jealous~" he mocked, fluttering his wings dramatically.

"What the heck? No, why would I?" Natsu scoffed, already resting his arms on the side of the pool to watch.

A jolt of annoyance coursed in him to see ice princess all up in her face. Natsu's lips pressed together in a thin line to see Lucy lightly laughing, as if she was enjoying the raven-haired males' presence. He leaned over to whisper something, causing both of them to erupt with lighthearted laughter. Irritation only grew to see how close he got to her body, his fingers touching her arm.

"What does this prick think he's up to?" Natsu muttered, pulling himself out of the pool. As he approached them, Gray glanced back distastefully before turning to face her again.

Lucy saw Gray mouth a few words to her. "I got this." Her eyes couldn't help but glance at the approaching pinkette, almost forgetting to tear her eyes from his rock-hard abs that had droplets of water cascading down his skin.

"What are you doing?" Natsu questioned, crossing his arms. He kept the same stern look on his face with a narrowing glare for dominance.

Gray smirked, casually shrugging his shoulders. "I'm just cooling off my friend, obviously ice magic does come in handy for moments like this." His hand gently skimmed over to hold hers that rested on the chair-arm, purposefully adding the extra flirty touch.

"You're just lucky it comes in handy for once." Natsu practically hissed between his teeth, the anger boiling even hotter in his gut. If anyone was to touch her, it was him.

"Well you were more of a disturbance rather than soothing." Lucy pitched in, almost laughing at the look Gray gave her.

Natsu stood there flabbergasted, completely rejected. The jealousy never seemed to simmer down, and now there was no chance for it to subdue at the moment.

"Oh Lucy, it looks like your glass is empty, I can fill it for you if you'd like." Gray enthusiastically pointed out, reaching for his water bottle. He glanced at Natsu to see him practically fuming by now, knowing that his pretend flirtatious motives were getting under his skin.

Lucy smiled and winked at him. "That'd be so nice, Gray." She replied, using her light and giggly voice.

Natsu wanted to pound a fist in Gray's head as he grabbed her glass and filled it with the bottle he'd already drank out of.

"I can chill your water if you'd like as well."

"You're too sweet."

"Ice make; ice cubes."

That was the last straw.

Gray dropped a few perfectly shaped cubes of ice in her water, setting back onto the table. "I bet it'll taste better that way."

"Shut up!"

Natsu grabbed the chair Gray sat in and yanked it to the side, adding an extra shove to send him skidding into the pool.

Lucy's eyes widened as Natsu grabbed the glass and chucked it far enough to who-knows-where. "It'll probably taste like sewer drainage from you!" Natsu shouted angrily. The glass sailed through the air until it was no longer visible, hopefully not crashing into someone's property.

Before she could react, Natsu already scooped her up in his arms and headed towards the deep end of the pool. Lucy clung onto him, kicking her legs dramatically as he took a step back.

"Natsu!" She screamed, trying to pry herself away as a sneaky smirk grazed his lips.

"Cannonball!"

Lucy's screams mashed with his laughs as he jumped in the water, creating a larger splash than before.

After a few seconds, Lucy managed to swim up to the surface, completely drenched. She gasped, a shocked and sassy expression on her face.

"Natsu, what the heck?!" Lucy shouted, blinking several times to make sure no water dropped in them. Her hair was a mess now, her bangs stuck to her forehead.

"I was perfectly fine on my own until you barged in! Why couldn't you wait until I was done--mmph!" Lucy's eyes expanded, frozen in shock as she felt something press against her lips.

More like someone.

Lucy's eyes fluttered closed, letting her fingers trail up to run through his wet salmon hair, following with snaking her arms around his neck.

Natsu was kissing her. Once, twice, more slow chaste kisses being placed on her plump lips to realize it wasn't enough. His arms strong wrapped around her body, letting his bare chest press against her. He dipped his head toward a slight angle, continuously kissing her harder, deeper, with a desirable emotion he longed to show.

All the while, Juvia and Happy stared wide-eyed in utter disbelief with a smirking Gray.

"My eyes are tainted!" Happy shrieked, covering his eyes with his paws like he'd seen a crime.

Lucy could feel the rapid beat of his heart as her legs hugged around his waist, feeling his hands move to hold her closer if it was possible. The warmth of his body replicated with the hotness of his lips moving against hers.

Their lips parted, the need to gasp for air. A vibrant rosy blush appeared on her cheeks as Natsu brought his head close, resting his forehead against hers.

"Am I still interrupting you?" Natsu asked, a lopsided grin formed with his sore lips.

"You idiot."

Now it was Natsu's turn to be surprised to feel her kiss him first without warning, slowly melting by her touch. The jealousy was now replaced with bliss, his heart hammering in his chest to taste her saccharine lips once again on his. Slow kisses met with a tender and subtle gentleness again for a longing moment.

Lucy smiled as their lips detached, feeling his hot breaths tingle her skin. "There wasn't a need to get jealous, Natsu."

"I'm not going to let Elsa refill your water ever again because," Natsu paused, meeting her softened eyes with a lustful gaze still nervous to say what he felt, "cause I think I--no, I know I love you."

"I love you too." Lucy softly replied, lightly laughing as he nuzzled his nose against her cheek.

From the other side of the pool, Juvia could only stare in surprise as she sat on one of the steps. "Did Gray-sama purposefully flirt with Love-Rival to make Natsu jealous?"

"She's not Love Rival anymore." Gray smirked, suddenly closing the gap between them to a minimum.

Her face flustered, almost fainting until she realized Gray picked her up and tossed her in the water, following with him diving in.

Hopefully he'd have the perfect moment just how he set up Flame Brain.
