Chapter 31: Platinum
"Wow, I can't believe I got a key out of that mission," Luke said as the group drove back to Fairy Tail.
"The old lady said it's an extremely powerful key. But it looks like just a regular old silver key to me." Caleb said.
"I noticed that too." Luke nodded. "But then I realized that it also looks different. The style of silver keys is pretty basic but this one resembles the design element of a gold key and also looks way shinier and brighter which makes me believe that this key isn't silver but platinum. But I haven't heard of platinum keys before, I'll ask Capricorn about it once we get back to the guild."
Earlier that morning
"Good Morning Hebe." Mira smiled as the girl walked inside the guild with Wendy, Romeo, and their 8-year-old daughter, Alissa.
"Good Morning." Alissa smiled, her head shifting around as if she was looking for something.
"If you're looking for Raiden, he just left for a mission, but he did tell me to give you a special breakfast he promised to the two of you." Mira smiled.
"Ray-Ray never disappoints." Alissa giggled as Mira moved to the kitchen to serve them the meal. A bacon and egg sandwich with cheesy fries on the side, just as Alissa requested.
"Here you go." Mira smiled as she placed the plate in front of Hebe.
Alissa gave Hebe an encouraging smile and the girl smiled back before taking a bite. Hebe took a small bite of the sandwich, hesitating for a bit, smiling as the aroma and flavor of the food filled her body.
"It's tasty right?" Alissa smiled, looking at her new friend, expecting a reaction.
"It's really good." Hebe meekly smiled. "Thank you for the treat Ali."
------
Hebe is quite enjoying her stay in Fairy Tail, however, she's scared of what's to come next. She isn't quite sure if the bad men would come back for her and even if they didn't, she doesn't know where to go. Her father's gone and she doesn't have anyone left.
"Hebe, are you okay?" A familiar voice interrupted her thoughts. It's Calypso with Nasha and Greige.
"I'm alright, just thinking." She responded.
"If your thinking about those bad guys, Fairy Tail will beat them up for sure, they won't bother you ever again." Calypso boasted, lifting her chin up with pride.
Hebe giggled. "I've been here long enough to know that Cali, you guys are super strong."
"What's bothering you then?" Greige asked.
"It's just, I don't know what to do now." Hebe lowered her head.
"Hey now, you're just a kid, you shouldn't worry about any of that, besides, you're free to stay at Fairy Tail if you want." Greige softly spoke, comforting her.
"I can."
"Of course, you can, we're all family here." Nasha smiled.
Back to the Present
"WE'RE BACK!!!" Luke cheered, bursting through the double doors of the guild.
"Welcome back, how's the mission?" Elwin greeted the team.
"It was fun, the pay is good, and we got extra stuff," Caleb replied. "Oh and also, we fought a giant spider, and when I said 'we' I meant the three of us." Caleb snickered, pointing at himself, Luke, and Sylvia.
Elwin chuckled and patted Raiden on the back. "I figured as much."
"Also, I got this beauty right here." Luke smiled, showing the Celestial Spirit key in his hand.
"You got a key!" Jude jumped in excitement, running to his brother to get a closer look at the key.
"I'm not quite sure what it is but I have some theories, I'm about to ask Capricorn about it." Luke said, and as if on cue, Capricorn suddenly materializes beside him, causing both Luke and Caleb to scream in shock.
"Capricorn, don't just pop in here out of nowhere, at least warn me first!" Luke exclaimed.
"My apologies, Sir Luke, truth be told I'm just rather excited." The spirit responded.
"Excited? What for?" Luke asked.
"It's been quite a long time since I last saw a Platinum key." Capricorn replied with a smile. "
"So it is Platinum." Luke nodded.
"It's an extraordinary and rare key, its power rivals that of Zodiac keys."
"Really? But why haven't I heard of it before, mom never mentioned it." Jude said, the said blonde Celestial Spirit wizard walked closer to listen in on the conversation.
"It's because Platinum keys are extremely difficult to use, there are only 2 Celestial Spirit Wizards in history to ever use them."
"Only 2?"
Capricorn nodded. "However, I do believe that Sir Luke is more than capable of it."
"What makes it so difficult then?" This time, it was Lucy who asked the question.
"Summoning these spirits is comparable to that summoning three Zodiac keys in a row, but it's actually quite easy to keep them summoned. However, their power doesn't only come from their bond with their owner but also their magical power and physical power." Capricorn answered.
"I see." Luke nodded. "You said, I can do it, right?"
"Indeed." Capricorn nodded. "One main reason why I summoned myself here."
"Alright then," Luke took a deep breath. "Let's do this."
"O Spirit, answer my call and pass through the Gate! Gate of the Hunter, I summon thee!" Luke chanted.
"Orion!"
In a flash of white light, appeared a tall, muscular, handsome-looking man enveloped in a fur-lined winter coat, underneath an intricately detailed gray long-sleeve, black corset, brown pants, and winter boots.
The spirit, looked at his surroundings, seemingly mesmerized by everything. He then chuckled. "It's been quite a long time." He looked at his key, then at Luke.
"Are you my new master!" The spirit shouted in excitement, grasping Luke's hands.
"Yeah, you could say that, but please don't call me Master, Luke is fine."
Orion looked around some more and caught sight of Capricorn. the spirit, gleeful ran to him and gave the fellow spirit a hug.
"Capricorn, my guy!!"
"Lively as ever." Capricorn chuckled.
"And this power." Orion laughed. "I never felt this much in my entire life."
Orion ran back to Luke and hugged him tightly. "Oh, you!!!" The spirit gleefully laughed as he easily picked Luke up from the ground and spun him around.
"This is simply amazing!! Thank you!!" Orion finally put Luke down.
"You're welcome." Luke managed to smile, quite unsure about what was going on.
Luke's magic power has drained quite a bit, and just like Capricorn said maintaining to keep Orion summoned is a piece of cake. Even if he's tired he can't help but smile at the Spirit who joyfully ran around the guild.
"Oh right, before I forget. Orion, we still have to talk about your contract."
"No need!" Orion exclaimed. "I love the thrill of battle, you can call me anytime you want. I will be your faithful servant through and through." he declared.
"Orion, you're not my servant, we're partners and I would love to more about you and this whole Platinum key situation, let's be friends okay." Luke smiled at the excited spirit.
Orion smiled widely. "That makes me so happy."
"So, what do you want to know?"
"First, how many platinum keys are there?" Luke asked.
"Well, there are actually two categories of platinum keys. The Heroes and The Monsters." Orion started.
"Sounds cool," Jude commented.
"It is." Orion laughed. "Anyway, there are only two who managed to get a hold of a master to serve. That's me and Hercules, but there are seven of us in total."
"There's me, Hercules, Perseus, Cetus, Draco, Phoniex, and Hydra, the largest Celestial Spirit in existence." Orion continued.
"Bigger than Ophiucus!"
" 2x bigger than her." Orion chuckled.
"Holy Shit"
Orion laughed at the response. "Aside, from that, I believe Capricorn already told you why we're rarely summoned. Back then, there aren't any Celestial Wizards who could make us use our power to our full potential so we were cast aside, even if we can summon on our own we're just as strong as our masters."
"But, you're different, I can feel incredible power surging within me and it's all because of you, I can also tell that you truly care about us, I can hear the voices of your spirits and they say nothing but positive things about you. I am delighted to be a part of it." Orion smiled.
Luke smiled back. "I can't wait to fight alongside you, Orion."
"Likewise."
