Longest chapter I have written so far

Enjoy!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nasha grumbled as she flopped her body on the black sofa. She's still a bit mad at her dad and she doesn't want to have another conversation with him. So, she decided to stay in her brother's apartment for the night. She's alone for now as Luke is helping Raiden with cleaning and closing up the guild hall.
"I'm trusting you to behave. Raiden would kill both of us if any of his stuff gets broken." Her brother warned her before he gave her the key.
It's not Nasha's first time being inside the apartment but it always amazes her how clean the place is. The apartment is naturally big as it accommodates two people. The living room is quite spacious, the room is equipped with tiled floors, and the walls are painted in the color beige. Modern furniture is placed in the living room in front of a large television lacrima with a gaming setup, and various picture frames are displayed, it mostly consisting of pictures of their team and Raiden's family and there are three guitars seen hanging by the wall. An electric guitar, an acoustic guitar, and an electric acoustic guitar.
The kitchen backsplash is decorated in light hues of colors. The fridge has various notes in it such as: "Luke wants pizza" "Out of milk" "Clean the oven" etc. and there's a medicine cabinet mounted on the wall.
There is then a hallway that leads to the bathroom and Luke and Raiden's room.
Nasha decided to watch a movie while she waited. She grabbed a random potato chip at the counter and opened the TV but before she could do so she heard the doorbell ring. She checked the clock and it was only 7:30. The guild doesn't close until 9.
"Who is it?!" She asked.
"It's Greige." She heard his soft voice.
"Listen, I know I've hurt your feelings and I wanna say I'm sorry."
Nasha walked over to the door and opened it.
"How did you know I was here?" Nasha asked.
"Raiden told me," Greige answered.
"Nasha, I really am sorry. I'm just looking out for you, I don't want you to get hurt. The situation got so intense really quickly and I just want to protect you guys. Greige is really sorry he made you feel the way you did." Greige softly spoke. "Greige will make it up to you, promise."
Nasha giggled as he spoke in third person halfway through his apology. She is never fond of cute things but she always finds it adorable every time Greige talks like that and she loves it.
"It's alright." Nasha smiled. "I had a bit of a fight with my dad before that, it got me riled up. I know you had good intentions, you always do."
"So, we're good?" Greige tilted his head sideways.
"Yeah, we're good." Nasha nodded.
"That's good to hear. I don't want you to stay mad at me." Greige smiled.
"I don't think that can happen, you're a pretty sweet guy," Nasha replied.
------
The Fairy Tail guildhall is fairly empty and only a few people are left. Raiden is humming as he wipes down the mugs he just washed.
"Raiden, can you file these up for me? These requests just arrived and we need to give them away by tomorrow." His father said, approaching him with a couple of pieces of paper.
"Sure thing." Raiden nodded and pulled out a record book and a pen from underneath the counter.
"What are those?" Luke leaned in to have a better look at the job requests.
"Not sure, but the clients want them accepted by tomorrow," Raiden replied, examining the papers.
"This one is pretty specific." Raiden showed Luke the job request. "They want a Dragon Slayer for the job."
"Why?"
"Some sort of Dragon-like creature destroying the buildings."
"Who do you think would take it?" Luke asked.
"I'll just give it to Dad, he'll choose who would go. Knowing them, they would just fight over it." Raiden replied, still focused on the task at hand.
"Smart." Luke nodded.
"This one's pretty cool, we could take it," Raiden said and gave Luke the job flyer.
"Buried treasure underneath the manor. Help us find it. Celestial Spirit Wizard needed." Luke read the text. "Sounds pretty simple and it's perfect for us. But why would they need a Celestial Spirit Wizard for?" The blonde commented.
"Who knows, we'll find out when we get there besides, I have a feeling there's a bit more to it than that. I'm sensing a bit of mystery, mazes even." Raiden chuckled.
"You're just playing way too many video games. That's it." Luke rolled his eyes.
"Maybe." Raiden hummed, finishing up the last of the job requests.
"But I mean the reward is pretty nice, plus we get additional payment from the treasure we'll find." Luke contemplated. "Oh what the heck!! Let's take it!!"
"Great!!" Raiden smiled, snatching the job request out of Luke's hand and grabbing the other job request. "I'll just give these to Dad." He said and walked away.
Entering his father's office, he first made his presence known by knocking on the door.
"Hey Dad, I just finished recording those job requests you gave me and I stumbled upon this," Raiden said, walking closer to the table and handing over the job request.
"It specifically wants a Dragon Slayer for the job. I thought it would be best if you were the one who would choose." Raiden said.
"You're right." Laxus nodded. "They would just fight over it."
"That's what I said." Raiden chuckled.
"By the way, I'm thinking of taking this job with the guys." Raiden also showed him the other job request. "It's just a simple treasure-hunting job, it should be fun." After examining the job request, Laxus agreed.
------
After closing the guildhall, Raiden and Luke walked back to their apartment.
"I hope Nasha didn't break or burn anything." Luke prayed.
"If she did, I'll kill both of you." Raiden jokingly said, trying to scare Luke which worked.
Luke is the one who opened the door and what they saw isn't what they expected at all.
Nasha is straddling on top of Greige as she's holding him down with one hand and reaching over the controller that Greige's holding with the other.
"Sorry." Raiden chuckled. "Are we interrupting something?" He teasingly wiggled his eyebrows.
"It's not what you think!!" Nasha screamed.
"I'm messing with you." Raiden laughed, taking off his coat and letting it hang on the coat rack beside the door.
"By the way, you left this over at Eli's." Raiden approached Greige and gave him a paper bag.
Greige took the bag and took a peak inside.
"So that's where it went." Greige giggled and pulled a jacket out of the bag. "I thought I totally lost it for a second."
"How did you manage to leave your jacket at Eli's?" Nasha asked.
"We went on a date yesterday and I ended up staying the night." Greige casually replied.
"You playboy." Luke chuckled. "First Alice now Elizabeth."
Greige rolled his eyes. "It's not like that. We joked about us dating a few days ago and Elizabeth thinks that my dating skills have gotten rusty and now that I'm dating again, she wanted to see if 'I still got it'. Whatever that means."
"So? Do you still got it?" Luke asked curiously.
"Hell yeah, I do!!" Greige cheered and gave Luke a big high five.
"It's rather late, why don't you stay." Raiden offered.
"Nah, I have errands to run." Greige sighed, standing up, and picking up the paper bag.
"You sure?"
"Positive." Greige nodded. Making his way over to the door.
"And that is why love is a hoax," Raiden said, motioning at the closed door.
"What?" Luke and Nasha tilted both their heads in confusion.
"You and Greige are the only reason why I still believe in love and now fate has torn you apart. There's nothing in this world that will ever ease my broken heart." Raiden posed dramatically.
"You're such a drama queen."
------
The sun shined brightly in the blue sky. The birds chirped and flew over the buildings in the city of Magnolia. It was a sunny and peaceful morning. For the most part.
"Hold on!! Why him of all people!!" Natsu shouted.
"It's Dad's decision, if you want the job go ahead and convince him," Raiden replied calmly.
Natsu is about to do just that but is stopped by what Raiden said next.
"Although, he's in a pretty bad mood this morning." Raiden hummed.
Natsu laughed nervously. "You know what never mind. Cobra can have the job."
Raiden smiled and gave Eric the job request.
"He's not in a bad mood is he?" Caleb whispered.
"That's clearly a lie." Raiden chuckled, getting his coat.
"Ma, we're going out on a job, it'll be quick," Raiden said, packing his things in a satchel.
Mirajane smiled and nodded. "Take care."
Raiden exited the guild together with Luke, Caleb, and Sylvia. They all entered his car, Raiden taking the driver's seat, Sylvia in the passenger's seat, and Luke and Caleb sitting in the back.
"Sweet Caroline~ ba dum bum-bum~" the group sang along to the music as they drove off to their destination.
The location isn't too far and it didn't take them long before they arrived.
The group got introduced to the owner of the manor shortly after and got full details of the mission.
One of the servants found a treasure map while they were cleaning the attic. Barbara, the owner of the manor claimed that this was the famed treasure that her ancestor had buried to be gifted to future generations of the family.
"You're right on one thing Ray. This thing is a maze." Luke said, looking at the map given to them.
"But, I have to ask, why does this job require a Celestial Spirit mage," Raiden asked.
"You see, our family line is known to be powerful Celestial Spirit wizards back in the day until years goes by and that title was lost. My grandmother is the only Celestial Spirit Wizard in the family and she only holds a few silver keys, I'm not quite sure that there are specific spots down there that need a Celestial Spirit mage but my ancestor makes this for the family, I have to make sure I hire one just in case."
"That's perfectly reasonable." Caleb nodded.
------
The group was given equipment to keep see in the dark before they entered the cave-like hole and started their search for the treasure.
"Okay, so we entered here, and this is where the treasure is," Caleb said out loud as he analyzes the map. "So, first we go left."
The group continued to follow Caleb.
The structure of the environment isn't exactly a maze but it sure does look like one, from the various rock formations sticking out of the ground to the caves that lead to god knows where and the cold, dark and eerie atmosphere.
"By the way, Ray, why don't you look into this, you're the expert," Caleb said, offering the map to Raiden. "You play stuff like this all the damn time."
"I wouldn't call myself an expert by any means. I'm the type of player who would rather climb mountains than go around them." Raiden replied. "I trust you with the map."
"Oh well." Caleb sighed. "Let's just hope we won't get lost."
The group walked and walked trusting Caleb's navigation skills to get them to where they needed to be.
"Are you sure we're not lost?" Sylvia whined. "We've been walking for hours now."
"Stop complaining and just trust me on this." Caleb retorted when suddenly the group heard an unusual sound.
"What was that?" Sylvia asked.
The group stayed quiet and they heard the sound again.
Luke pulled out a bow and arrow and aimed at where he thought the sound might be coming from.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a pair of glowing eyes.
"Lightning shot!!"
Luke shot the creature, but it seems unaffected, it only opened more of its eyes and slowly made its way toward the group.
"Son of a" Luke reacted as they finally had a good look at the creature.
A gigantic spider.
"Luke you seem to have angered it," Sylvia said.
"It's so big!" Caleb gasped.
"I think I'm gonna be sick." Raiden groaned.
"We don't have time for that!! Let's take this sucker down!!" Luke shouted, switching to a spear.
"Nope!! Not happening!!" Raiden shook his head profusely. "I'm not getting anywhere near.... that." He said, slowly backing away.
"Just don't look at it!!" Caleb shouted while throwing massive boulders at the spider.
"I already laid my eyes on it, it's now forever trapped in my memory to haunt my nightmares." Raiden cried.
"Think happy thoughts," Sylvia said while firing an array of water and ice attacks. "Go to your happy place."
Raiden closed his eyes shut. "Happy place... Happy place... Happy place." He chanted as he tried his best to forget about the creature and envisioned himself sitting on the rooftop of the guild basking underneath the glimmering and shining night sky.
"That's it!!" Luke smiled as he kept on attacking the spider. "We're almost done, you're doing great!!"
The moment the group took down the spider, they walked back to Raiden.
"It's over, the spider is dead," Luke said, placing a hand on his shoulders.
"Really?"
"Yeah." Caleb nodded.
"You're so brave." Sylvia giggled, ruffling his white hair.
"Now, let's go back to business, and hopefully no more giant spiders this time," Caleb said, pulling the map out of his pocket.
------
Eric is on his way home after the job. It was pretty difficult and the monster was quite annoying to deal with. He is currently sitting in one of the seats in the cabin of the train. His head and stomach felt like absolute shit as the train moved.
He laid his head over at the table and attempted to sleep it off, it usually doesn't work but surprisingly he managed to fall asleep this time around.
A woman with short black hair stood beside the Dragon Slayer and smirked.
"Too easy." She giggled, placing the tip of her finger over the dragon slayer's shoulder. Using her magic she extracted blood from him, once she was done she left as if nothing had happened.
------
"A dead end?" Caleb stared at the wall in front of them.
Sylvia walked closer to the wall and traced her hand over it and noticed that there were carvings and an unusual-looking keyhole buried underneath the dust
"Guys, look." She exclaimed, dusting off the dust as much as she could with her hand.
"It's like a riddle of some kind" Caleb tilted his head, trying to figure out what it meant.
"Let's see." Raiden stepped forward to have a closer look.
"Power ascended through light, magic that holds beings from the stars above, only those who are worthy to hold one key can open the gates to the treasure that you seek."
Luke walked closer and looked back at the keys stored in his belt.
"Could it be talking about Celestial Spirits?" He said. "I mean look at this, 'beings from the stars above, only those who are worthy to hold one key can open gates to the treasure'."
"Celestial Spirit magic is based on constellations in the sky and they are keys to represent each. Barbara also said that her ancestor who buried the treasure is a Celestial Spirit mage right, this might be how he locked the door."
"Damn, look at you being so smart." Sylvia giggled as Luke basked in the glory of her compliment.
"If Celestial Spirit keys are the way to open this, how does it work exactly?" Caleb asked.
"There's this weird circular hole." Sylvia pointed at the said hole. "Maybe you put it in."
"Only one way to find out." Luke pulled out a random key and inserted it into the hole but nothing happened.
"Uhhhh... so what now?" Luke asked.
"Try saying the riddle out loud," Raiden said.
Luke cleared his throat and chanted the riddle. The wall glowed and their surroundings brightened and their surroundings completely changed. The large cavern is turned into a small room with a staircase that leads down below.
"Wow!" Caleb gasped in amazement. "What kind of magic was that!"
"That's amazing, we're just in a small room now," Luke added.
The group went down and looked and as expected they were faced with the treasure of the family. It's a quaint room filled with magical items, books, money, and of all sorts.
"We found it, you guys." Raiden smiled.
The group soon called Barbara and her family to see the room and they were quite happy and impressed and thanked the group greatly for their efforts. She told them they could take one piece of anything they wanted from the room. Caleb found a bottle of fine wine which he was incredibly excited by, Sylvia took an antique butterfly hairpin which she believes can be sold for millions, Luke took a book he was interested in and Raiden took a spell book but before leaving Barbara's grandmother called upon Luke.
"You're the Celestial Spirit mage correct?" She asked.
"Yes, I am."
"At my age, this won't be very useful to me so I must give this to you young man." She handed him a silver box. Luke opened it to reveal a Celestial Spirit key he hadn't seen before.
"That, young man, is the key of Orion the Hunter. An extremely powerful Celestial Spirit, please take good care of it."
"It'll be an honor, thank you so much." Luke smiled, taking a small bow.
