The Chase

Levy's POV

"Done." I said, sighing, and putting down the last book. It was 4 o'clock am now, and nothing had happened. No change occurred, and no guys had found us.

Lucy's eyes were as wide as saucers. "You did not seriously read all the books in the entire library."

I grinned, taking off my wind reader glasses and shoving them in my satchel. Juvia was sleeping in the corner, talking about Gray in her sleep. She turned over every so often and moaned a little; Lucy and I both felt a tad uncomfortable.

"So what do you-" Lucy began to say.

The lights went off before she finished her statement. We sat there in shock, as everything around us was consumed by darkness.

Suddenly, I couldn't see anyone, or anything, and I was out of my mind.

"Lucy?" I asked.

"Levy, I'm going to try to find my gate keys. You wake up Juvia." She said, in a hushed tone.

I got on my hands and knees to try and find Juvia. "Juvia! Wake up." I said.

She moaned again. "Ahh...Gray Sama."

I went over near the moaning, and tried to shake Juvia awake. She giggled and told me to stop in her sleep-talking phase and I rolled my eyes.

I used the light pen in my pocket to glow in front of me, as I saw a faint outline of Lucy and Juvia.

Then there were noises. A couple sounds that sounded like they were coming down the steps.

Lucy gasped. "Did they find us?"

Juvia laughed, pawing at the air. "Stop iiittt."

I shook Juvia. "Juvia! Juvia!"

She finally snapped awake as the steps got closer and closer. Lucy Froze. My teeth chattered, and my heart was in my stomach. The floor had never felt this cold before.

"W-what's going on?" Juvia asked. "Juvia's scared."

"Sh." Lucy hushed. There was a black silence, and heavy breathing.

Finally, the light pen focaused it's shine on one thing. No, rather, three things. Three people.

Before us, smirked Natsu, Gray, and ... Gajeel. I gulped, and swallowed the last of my dignity.

"How did you-" I started.

Natsu squinted. "Dragon Slayers have great noses..."

Lucy didn't waste any time. She raised her golden key in the air yelling. "Open! Gate of the Maiden! Virgo!"

Surely enough, Virgo appeared, in a stiff position with her velvet hair tied back in a maids head band. Her stale blue eyes scanned the room thoroughly.

She stared over at Lucy, and then over at Natsu. "Punishment time I see."

"Drill us a hole out of here!" She yelled.

"I'm at your service, Princess." Virgo said, nodding her petite head. She drilled a hole through the side of the library and faded back into the celestial world.

"Levy! Juvia! Let's go!" She yelled, making a running start towards the hole.

"No you don't." Natsu smirked, barreling towards Lucy. She picked up a book and threw it at him, but he just let it catch fire.

I gasped, watching the burning book fade to ashes. That's when I felt the hand on my wrist. It took it and wouldn't let go, the wrist that belonged to the big brute himself, Gajeel.

"Not so fast, shrimp." He growls, licking his lips. A shiver soared down my spine in excitement.

"Script Magic!" I yelled, "Fire!"

His arm caught fire, as I darted after Lucy. She whipped Natsu with her pocket whip, and he stumbled backwards. I jumped over him as Lucy called on her Spirits to run us out of there.

I glimpsed back. Natsu and Gajeel cursed under their breath as Juvia was captured by Gray. He stood over her, and her eyes fixed on his, afraid and filled to the brink with excitement.

"Juvia!" I told Lucy. She shook her head and said there wasn't time, as we disappeared into the hills.

I shuddered at the thought of what Gray had in mind for her. Then again, it was Juvia, she might just go along.o

Erza's POV.

Finishing the slice of strawberry cake, I set the plate down on the counter and let out a big sigh.

He still hasn't come. I scooped up the cakes remains in a spoon and licked it, leaning on the counter, staring out the window.

Just then, Lucy popped into the signal. She sent a message directly to me, borrowing Warran's telepathy. She sounded out of breath, and terrified.

"Lucy?" I asked. "Are you alright?"

She huffed again. "They found us Erza. Levy and I managed to escape, but Juvia's a goner!"

I cringed. "Hide in the woods. There are a lot of scents there that the dragon slayers might be confused about. I'm going to get back Juvia."

Lucy paused for a bit, catching her breath. "Ok."

The signal dis-connected, and I set the plate and spoon in the sink. I requipped back into my usual attire, half armor, half blue tattered skirt, and opened the window. It was still extremely dark out, being that it was 4:15, but I leaped out anyways.

As soon as I hit that first breeze, my feet smacked the pavement. I looked around, and darted down an alley towards the guild.

That's when an uneasy feeling washed over me. In a split second, my eyes were everywhere, feeling the gaze of him on me.

And there he was. His dark eyes held me in place, and he stood just a couple yards away. The scar on his face was barely visible in this amount of darkness, and his azure hair waved. Violently in the early wind.

"Come join me." He said, leaning up against the brick wall of a nearby store. "Titania."

I stepped back, breaking out into a run in the opposite direction. No matter how much I wanted to, I couldn't. It wasn't him! It was the damned season!

I stopped short as he appeared in front of me again, giving me a side smirk.

"Let's make the hours count." He grinned, reaching for my arm.

Wendy's POV.

"Sky Dragon Roar!" I yelled, blasting Romeo, and Elfman with my power.

I huffed, ready to keel over. Evergreen and I had been fighting those two off for a half hour. Earlier, Laki had surrendered to Gildarts and wandered right into an apartment with him. I never understood her...

Romeo stumbled back. He looked at me with different eyes. I almost didn't recognize him.

This wasn't Romeo. It just wasn't. He would never want to force me to do something I was against.

"Fairy Machine Gun!" Evergreen shouted, flying up onto a roof, grabbing me by my arms.

Elfman was storming up here. She bit her lip and sighed, calculating his next move. Romeo conjured another ball of purple flames in his hand and sent it right for the roof. We flew away as it caught fire.

"Wendy!" Evergreen said, gulping loudly. "I'm going to hold them both off. You are to run, am I clear? Better I get caught up in this mess than you. Your too young."

I didn't argue with her. I only bid her farewell and proceeded to make a clean exit.

The Chase had tired us all out. I just hoped the others were okay.
