(Y/n)'s POV

My next class was art.

"Lucy, can you please show me where our art class is?" She smiled and nodded. We arrived at a classroom.
"Come on girls," Mr Jonah (Reedus) said then added, "What are your skills in art?" This was addressed to the class. Some of the answers were sketching, painting, collages, drawing, etc.
"What about yours, (Y/n)?"
"Huh? I don't really know..."
"That's okay, you'll find out soon."
"Um...I have an artwork that I've been working on for a few months but there's something still missing and I don't know what."
"Well, we have the whole lesson. Why don't you bring it in?"
"It's at home."
"You know what, I'll ask if you can go off campus to get it." He rang the principal and nodded at me.
"But take someone with you."
"I'll go with her." Gray grabbed my hand.
"Let's go."

We were walking through the streets. Gray was still holding my hand. He noticed that I looked down. He quickly let go.

"Sorry."
"Why did you come with me?"
"Well, uh, it's just that...I made a promise to myself. I promised myself that I would make you smile one day." I looked at him.
"Why...would you want that?"
"It's just that we've never seen you smile while you were here. Fairy Tail is family, we stay together no matter what."
"I'm sorry."
"What are you apologising for?"
"I'm sorry, I don't know what will bring a smile to my face." He frowned. We kept walking until we reached our destination.
"Please wait here." I went inside.
"Miss (L/n), what are you doing here? You are supposed to be at school," Albert, my butler, told me.
"Forgive me, I have just come to collect something." He smiled cheerfully.
"Well then, hurry up." I went to my room and got the painting. I met Gray outside.
"Can I see?" I nodded. He took the painting.
"Wow, you are really good. No wonder why you don't know what you're good at, you're good at everything." *blush*
"Are you okay?"
"I wish I could-" I stopped, I couldn't tell anyone about it.
"You could what?"
"Nothing, forget I ever said anything." We continued walking in silence until we arrived in class.
"Now let me see your painting." I gave it to Mr Jonah.
"You are right, this is missing something. But it is a magnificent artwork."
"Thank you."
"You have put a lot of effort into it, and passion. It's missing love. You have love for art but no love for...family." Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked at me.
"But I do have love for family," I lied.
"Then put it in here." How was I supposed to do that?! He gave my artwork back. I sighed. Lucy came over to me.
"What did he mean by no love for family?"
"Forget about it."
"But-"
"I said to forget about it."
"Shouldn't everyone love their family? I mean-"
"Stop interfering with my life, okay?!" She looked hurt.
"I was only trying to help." She ran out of the classroom. What have I done? Some people glared at me. Why did I even exist?
"(Y/n), go apologise to her now." I got up and went to look for Lucy. She was outside, I think Natsu was with her. He saw me coming.
"This is what we get for trying to help?" he asked, angered.
"Lucy, listen-"
"She doesn't want to talk to you right now. We've been trying to get through to you but you've only been pushing us away. Looks like we can't." I was hurt. I turned away so he couldn't see the tears in my eyes.
"Tell everyone I'll...just be home."

I ran off. I ran up to my room and shut the door. Tears fell from my eyes. Nobody understood me. Everyone hated me. I was just a girl nobody believed in. I buried my face into my pillow.

~A few minutes later~

There was a knock at the door.

"Go away, I don't want to talk to anyone." *knock knock*
"Please, let me in." It was Lucy. I didn't want to talk to her yet.
"Go away." I hugged my knees. She came in anyway. She looked shocked to see me crying.
"Why are you here? Aren't you supposed to be at school having fun?"
"I just came to apologise."
"I'm the one that needs to apologise to you. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you."
"No, it was my fault. I should never have asked. I don't know what you're going through at home, I should have just left that topic alone." She hugged me. Natsu and Gray came in.
"Whoa, I thought you never had any emotions. You always try to-" Lucy glared at Natsu.
"No, it's alright. Everyone thinks I'm just an emotionless girl."
"Don't say that, I'm sure it's not true," Gray exclaimed. There was an awkward silence.
"Um...maybe you would want to go back to school," Lucy suggested. *sigh*
"You guys go on without me. I'll be there soon."
"Are you sure?"

I nodded. They left. I went to the bathroom and washed my face. I straightened my uniform and went back to school. It was already lunch. The food from the cafeteria was all gone. I went to Lucy's table.

"Here, I saved you one," Gray said, handing me a chicken sandwich.
"No, you take it." He didn't have anything. He smiled.
"Proved it."
"Proved what?"
"You're not emotionless." I realised what he meant. He gave half the sandwich to me.
"Thanks." I slowly started eating it.
"Is it not that good?" Lucy asked.
"I'll have it!" Natsu said.
"No, I'm not hungry." I gave it to Natsu.
"I'll just be outside." I went outside and looked at the sky. I missed you...

Gray's POV

She looked so beautiful standing there. If only she would smile. I wonder what's causing her to refuse to smile.

"What are you thinking about?" Natsu asked.
"Nothing."
"You're thinking about (Y/n), aren't you?" Lucy asked with a smirk.
"N-no, I was thinking about uh how much of an idiot Natsu is."
"Hey! Is that a fight you want?!"
"Cut it out, guys."
