This song is so admirable but soft! I can imagine all their voices sing a lullaby in my ears! The sound resonates in my mind like an orchestra in a grand hall. This is a great pick-me-up for a bad day! *Slowly cries tears of joy*)

My father was the best man in the world, but I guess that's my opinion. He would be the one to nurse my brother and I back to health when we were sick. My Mother's magic depletes easily when she tries to nurse humans, so as a result, she would be the one to get the herbs that my Father requested from the garden. Sickness spread easily in our village because people were always around other people, so in cold and flu season we were prepared for what ever Mother Nature threw at us.

I remember this one time when I was so sick that my father had to be at my aid every second of the day. I couldn't do anything by myself at all. I couldn't eat, sleep, walk, or move any muscles (besides my heart) on my own.

As I lay here in this hospital bed, my new friends hover over me, anxiously waiting for me to wake up and say hello. I'm not quite sure what happened to me when that weird guy attacked me. All I remember is trying not to get blood on Natsu's scarf. But there was something that stuck with me. If I could just partly remember what he said. Was it...'Winds of Plague'? Yeah, I think that's it, He must have been a wind mage to use wind magic. Although, I feel like I've heard that command before... but from where?

"Satoshi?" Natsu said as I slowly opened my eyes.

"unn, Natsu? Everyone?" I groggily replied.

"We're so glad that you're okay!" Lucy said relieved.

I noticed that Gray and Erza weren't in the room. Where'd they go? Did they ever find directions to the Whispering Forest? In the midsts of my thoughts, I heard someone crying. It sounded like it was close, really close. I looked down at the creme white hospital sheets to gaze my eyes upon a little green Exceed crying her eyes out on my lap. Rose must have thought this was all her fault, oh rose...

"Satoshi!! I-I-I'm sorry! I shouldn't have run away, I shouldn't have tried to do something like that on my own! Please don't be mad at me!" Rose cried out.

I smiled and rubbed Rose's head. I wasn't mad at her, it really wasn't her fault. Oh Rose, I love you so much.

"It's okay Rose, It's not your fault. I'm just glad that no one else was hurt" I comforted rose as I rubbed her head once more.

My loving smile turned into a let down frown. I can't believe that I got hurt before we even reached the Whispering Forest. I feel like I let everyone down, will I be able to go on jobs again? Will they still be my friends? Will I ever find--

"Flame brain, Lucy! we found the herbs!" Gray excitedly said as he interrupted my train of thought.

"Who are you calling flame brain, Ice Princess?!" Natsu insulted.

"You! Squinty eyes!" Gray made a comeback...

"Pervy Popsicle!" And so did Natsu.

Gray and Natsu continued to insult each other as I watched in awe. They're friends right? So what are they calling each other names? Mother always told me that calling other people names is a mean thing to do. Are they having a fight?

"Uhh... Lucy?" I whispered

"Oh it's okay, they do it all the time" Lucy smiled as I saw her sweat drop.

"This is no time for this nonsense!" Erza stated as she bashed Natsu and Gray's heads together, resulting in them being knocked out.

I guess I have a lot to learn about friendship and it's... perks.

"We contacted Wendy," Erza said reluctantly.

"She told us recipe that you might know about" Gray groggily said as he slowly got back on his feet.

Erza handed me the green, red, yellow, blue and purple herbs that they've found. I examined their color, texture, and scent. They reminded me of the herbs that mother used to give to my father when we were sick. Wait... hebs... Mother's garden... I got it! I know how to get better and get out of here!

"Too bad Wendy couldn't get here..." Lucy sighed.

"Who's Wendy?" I curiously asked as I conjured up the correct spell.

"Wendy is a friend of ours, She's the Wind Dragon Slayer. She's really good with healing magic" Natsu smiled as he recovered from Erza's head bash.

So Natsu and I aren't the only ones... I snapped back into reality as I franticly searched my memory for the spell that my mom used to use on us is when we had a fever.

***

I remember the soft brown cot I used to lay on, my small petite room I used to be in. That time when I had a never-leaving-fever and I felt like my body was going to melt from my excelled body temperature. What did she say?

"Oh Satoshi, I'll make it so this fever will never bother you again." My Mother reasurred.

Mother brushed the hair out of my face as I slightly shifted to see her.

"How are you going to... do that mama?" I coughed.

"Satoshi, do you remember Mr. Rainbow?"

"Yes, Mr. Rainbow comes out when the sun greets the rain."

"Right, Mr. Rainbow has magical powers. He can even heal pesky fevers. When he comes out, he makes people happy and all bad things go away." Mother smiled.

"Mama, I still don't understand how..." My curiosity said.

I noticed that my Mother was holding some herbs with the colors of green, red, yellow, blue and purple. I wondered what they were for since I've never seen them before in the garden. Father must have asked the neighbors for some.

Mother didn't say a word before my room was illuminated with bright vibrant colors of the rainbow. My dull gray walls turned into a canvas of gorgeous accents and paints. My little mind was so astonished when I gazed upon it.

"Niji-sama" Mother prayed as the rainbow glowed over her, "help me heal my daughter. We'll have some nice flowers for you to gaze upon when you come out."

My Mother prayed as I lay there confused. My Mother summed the rainbow out of nowhere!

Not long after, the walls began to look different as I gazed upon them again. This time, they were like a galaxy with brilliant shining stars that could be seen for miles.

"Rainbow remedy!"

Mass amounts of colors exploded onto the canvas of my body. I could feel the rainbow being shot into my veins and coursing through my whole body. It brought joy, peace, and left a promising smile on my face.

***

"...Toshi? Satoshi?" A distant voice called.

"Huh?...what?" I snapped back into reality to realize that I spaced out.

"Sorry about that, I was remembering something about when I was a kid" I looked down and smiled softly, "Anyway, I have an idea you guys!"

"What is it?" Lucy questioned as she sat at the end of the bed.

"It's a pain to explain," Cause I'm not sure how it works myself... "But bare with me. Lucy, you might want to stand."

Lucy stood up and I prepared the spell.

"Here goes nothing..." I mumbled softly.

Anxious eyes observed me from the depths of the room. I studied the colored herbs in my hands again and my heart skipped a beat. I closed my eyes and prayed to the gods of the skies as the warm sunlight touched my skin. I didn't even have to look up to feel a beautiful rainbow pouring in. It's vibrant colors lit up the room like a bon fire.

"Wow..." I heard Lucy whisper.

"Niji-sama" I prayed,"Please, please lift the curse that was put upon me. I'll plant flowers with each of your astounding colors in return."

Thump... thump... thump

My heart wasn't beating normally anymore, but I still kept my calm. I squeezed the herbs and I could slightly feel their colors blending in with mine. At that moment, I could turn everyone's feelings into useful colors. Lucy's excitement and astonishment was a bright yellow, Natsu's firey passion was a brilliant red with orange accents, Gray's cool and collected self was a light blue with a hint of white, Erza's deep fighting spirit and mysterious past is a deep but trusting violet, and last but not least, Rose's Happy-go-lucky self was colors of a soft green.

Then, as subtle as a flower swaying in the wind, the newly rainbow kissed room turned into the statuesque galaxy that I once laid my eyes upon many moons ago.

"It's like being in a planetarium" Gray commented with an astounding tone.

"Rainbow Remedy!" Those words reminded me of my Mother. But I must focus...

All the colors from everyone and everything around us suddenly filled my veins and coursed through my whole body with sudden delight. I felt like I was injected with a dose of happiness.

Shaaaaaa!

Was the last thing I heard before everything went dark... Have I failed?

***

"Mama? mama?" I half-heartedly asked as I saw my Mother's lifeless body resting on my bed, the herb's vibrant colors turned into a saddened gray.

"Papa! Papa! Come quick! Papa!" I called, my strength re-awakened as I franticly shook my mother in fear.

I heard my Father's hurried steps run to my room. He crashed through the room to see his Wife's lifeless body laid over his loved daughter's bed.

"P-Papa!... Mama! M-Mama tried to- t-to-" I studdered

"Shh calm down Satoshi," My Father cooed as he picked up my Mother, bridal style. "I know what to do, everything is going to be alright."

I noticed a small contented smile on my Mother's face. I had a feeling that she heard everything that was going on.

Father quietly walked out my room into his room. I followed him silently to make sure my Mother was safe, I loved her dearly even though we weren't family by blood. He laid my Mother down in the awaiting bed and tucked her in with a worried look on his face.

"Oh Kaede, please... don't make me worry like that." He sat on the edge of the bed beside her, "I can't bare the thought of losing you... not again..."

Again? I don't remember hearing him say that...

My curious little body peered in though the door to see my Father kissing my Mother's unresponsive lips. They were always affectionate to each other, even in sickness. I guess you could call me lucky...
