*Chapter 4*
(Hanako: Hanako here! With a little refresher on the last chapter! Rose pleaded Satoshi to show off her magic skills so they flew off to an open field. But when she asked everyone to stand back, Natsu rebelled and was eager to fight her!)
(Kaito: Don't forget about me sis! Kaito here! Hanako pretty much summed it up... but we are the extra spectators at the fight! Grass can get bored while we stand here growing you know. Hanako! Give me more screen time!)
(Hanako: Sorry! out of time! now back to the story!)
***
Natsu was starting to piss me off, I know he was just testing my strength and it was all in fun, but my emotions had rushed over me like a wave. I couldn't use my magic the right way and it made me hate myself again.
Before I knew it, My hair was flying everywhere and the ground was breaking beneath me. My body acted on its own as my arms raised up and formed sphere with a glow of an unrecognizable color. The pressure of my magic power grew heavy on me, I could see Lucy and Erza trying to stand against the mass amount of pressure.
The world grew dark as my vision blurred, the bright green grass turned into an unsatisfying brown, the skies mixed and swirled into an ugly gray color. I heard Rose call for me, but my body didn't do anything to react.
The sphere grew bigger as the wind whipped and roared in my ears, I was surprised that I was still standing. In effort to stop me, Natsu tried to attack me with his blazing flames. With a powerful throw, Natsu hurled his flames and they swirled towards me at a high speed. But it was all for naught, a force field flashed before our eyes as his flames bounced off as if it was a ball.
All of a sudden, My world went white...the air, grass, people...they all disappeared into this white, blank emptiness...
Another flashback appeared before me, it was when my Mother had taught me her magic. She had taught me how to listen to Mother Nature's children. I still remember that cute little house we used to have and my Mother's beautiful flower garden.
It was a really sunny day, Hikaru was out with Father, and Mother was outside tending to her plants. They were so lovely and cared for, Those plants were like her children. I remember running up to her, so eager to learn more magic. My little heart was so fascinated by it.
"Mommy! Mommy! Can you teach me magic like Daddy did?" I asked eagerly.
"Of course I can dear, Let me teach you how to listen to the flowers." My Mother answered as she finished tending to the garden
"The flowers? Mommy! Flowers don't talk!" I laughed.
"They're always talking! You just have to listen carefully, some of them are shy and like peace and quiet. Come, listen Satoshi, I'm sure they would like to talk to you."
My Mother's raven black hair danced in the summer breeze, I was ever so happy to have hair like hers. I sat on my knees beside her, adjusting my dress so it wouldn't get too dirty from the dirt.
"What now?" I asked puzzled.
"Move your ears to the flowers, close your eyes, and listen."
I did exactly what she said...but nothing happened.
"Mommy? They're not talking..." I said unsatisfied with my arms crossed.
"Be patient my child. You have to concentrate and be patient."
Again, I did exactly what she told me. That day I waited...and waited...and waited. Even when my Mother went inside, I waited. Before I knew it, the sun had already gone to bed and the moon told the shy stars to dance in the beautiful night sky. My confidence in myself had run out and I was about ready to give up, but...
"Well? Aren't you going to start a conversation?"
A voice appeared out of nowhere.
"Where?...Who said that?" I asked as I stood up.
The voice disappeared.
Then, for a second, my little eager heart made my body bend down to listen to my Mother's flower garden again.
"I knew you would come back!"
The voice appeared again.
"So it was you!" I smiled
"All you had to do was start a conversation!" The flower said (I had forgotten what color it was in the darkness.)
"You made me wait days to say that!?" I complained.
"Yep! Calm down child, it was only a couple hours!" The flower protested.
"Meanie!"
I ran inside to tell my Mother what happened, my face was all puffed up and red.
"Mommy! The flowers are big fat meanies heads!"
"Well I'm not sure about them being big and fat, but they can be sassy!"
My Mother laughed and held me close. I realized that I had stopped being mad and started to laugh with her. Her laugh was so funny, she could make anyone happy, no matter what happened to them.
Another thought hit me hard, no one had taught me how to fight in hand-to-hand combat. Also, I have never been truly happy ever since Mother had died. Plus, ever since that fire in my village, Hikaru has never said a word to me. My own brother! He left me alone in the world when I was twelve and he never came back. He didn't even say goodbye as we parted. What a jerk!
Ever since then, I though all this madness was my fault. My hatred for the world was gone, I only had hate for myself. I couldn't live like this, sulking, hating, constant self-harm, the blackouts...It was all too much! I was messed up and no one could help me. Who would? Who even cares anymore!
But...Rose was always there for me. I remember holding her when I cried, she kept me going when I wanted to give up, I never gave into my emotions when I was with her...so why was I giving in this time?
I snapped out of my trance and the world became clear, it was crumbling before my eyes. What have I done? I couldn't stop myself now, it's too late...the only thing that could stop me was--
"...Satoshi..." A distant voice in my head called.
Then, everything stopped...my destruction, my sphere with an unrecognizable color, everything. The skies suddenly cleared and the ground was leveled in the quiet meadow, as if nothing ever happened.
"What happened?" Lucy questioned.
"Satoshi!!!" Rose yelled as she flew over to me.
I fell to the ground in pain, but why was I hurt? Natsu didn't hurt me that bad in our fight. Why was I going to do a spirit bomb like Goku? What the hell is going on?!
"Satoshi! are you okay? What happened?! When did you learn how to do that? Do you think I could do it too?!" Rose asked, she was speaking so fast that I couldn't answer any of her questions.
The others rushed over to me as I tried to stand up, my magic power was severely depleted and I could barely stand. I had never tried used that move before, Mom never taught me that...did Gaia teach me that?
"You had so much magic power, I could feel the pressure back there!" Erza complimented.
"That move..." Lucy started, "Levy told me about a move like that. Its called 'Elemental Zen Blast'. I didn't know that you were capable of doing that!"
"I didn't know I was capable of doing that either. I was never taught that move. Although...It could be...because of my emotions..."
I fell to the ground before I could finish my sentence. Lucy helped me up and they all looked at each other. Lucy nodded at Erza, Erza had a satisfying look on her face, and Natsu grinned happily.
"Satoshi, we're taking you to FairyTail!" Natsu happily said.
"Yay! Satoshi!" Rose yelled as she flew around.
I guess this day wasn't so bad (besides the constant flashbacks and my embarrassing attempt to "show off" my magic skills.) At least I finally get to go to FairyTail!
"Um...But I'm having a bit of trouble standing up, let alone walking..."
"Don't worry Satoshi!" Lucy reasured, "We're you're friends now! We're nakama!"
"...Friends?...Nakama?..."
Those words...I always wanted to hear those words. I couldn't help but to let a few tears roll down my cheeks. I've never had Friends before...well, friends other than Rose. Natsu hoisted me onto his back and I wrapped my arms around his neck. I haven't had a piggy back ride in years.
"You ready Satoshi?" He asked as he looked back at me.
"You bet!" I answered happily.
Natsu started at a sprint and I heard Lucy yell, "Wait up Natsu!" Natsu was very fast, but Happy was already ahead of him. (Probably because he had wings) Natsu's body was warm, well he was a fire Dragon Slayer after all. I wrapped myself around him a bit tighter so I wouldn't fall off. (I really just wanted to smell his scent, it was hard to describe...but I liked it.)
"You okay? Satoshi?" Natsu questioned.
To my surprise, I had my nose buried in his hair! I smelled his scent too much!
"...yeah, sorry, I just like your scent..." I answered shyly.
"So you're a Dragon Slayer too? Did your dragon disappear July 7, x777?" Natsu asked as he slowed to a stop.
Lucy and the others were catching up to us as I answered the question.
"Yeah, so yours left on the same day..." My voice trailed off.
"Have you ever had Friends before?" He asked, adjusting me on his back a bit.
"Not really...It's a long story...but Rose is all I have left."
"What about your mom?"
"She...she's gone" I looked away from him so I wouldn't be too tempted to cry.
"Well don't worry about being alone, you'll never be alone at FairyTail. I promise!"
Natsu had a big smile on his face, and I could tell that he was serious. I couldn't help but to smile back. There's just something about him that reminds me of my Mother.
Lucy and Erza finally caught up with us as I decided that I liked being called "a friend" I wonder what FairyTail will be like, maybe I could find Hikaru or make lots of friends to fulfill Mother's wish.
"Hey um...guys? Do you...Do you think that...I can make friends at FairyTail?" I had to ask, I really needed to learn how to make them.
"Of course! You made friends with us right?" Lucy said.
I guess I did make a few friends today! I'm ready to take on the world!
"Natsu! Happy!" I called.
"Aye!" They both answered.
"Onward! To Fairy Tail!"
"Aye, Sir!" They yelled in sync.
Natsu sprinted off again with Lucy and Erza trailing behind while Happy and Rose were flying in front of us. For the First time in years, I was smiling, laughing, and having fun. For the first time since my Mother died, I felt truly happy.

(Hanako: Well that was a heart warming chapter!)
(Kaito: I think that Satoshi liiiiiiikes Natsu!)
(Hanako: No she doesn't! She just likes his scent! That's all! She is a Dragon Slayer so she had to get everyone's scent. She probably is just fond of his scent.)
(kaito: Sure, what ever you say sis!)
(Hanako: Anyways, see you in the next chapter! To Fairy Tail we go!)
