Darkness. That was the last thing Issei could remember as his eyes slowly began to flicker open revealing a view of a strange medieval city. He sat up rapidly, blinking in shock. As his eyes focused, he realised that there was somone lying next to him.

If it weren't obvious from his silver hair, the glowing wings of Divine Dividing that protruded from his back was a dead give away as to who was lying next to him.

"Vali?" He muttered almost hesitantly, a sense of dread quickly began to build in his stomach. Fortunately, his rival let out a soft groan before rolling onto his side, "Fuck off. I'm trying to sleep."

"Ddraig? You awake?" Issei called out softly to his partner, not wanting to disturb his rival until he was sure of something.

"Yes partner."

"Where are we?"

"I don't know." The dragon admitted, "The last thing I recall is our monthly battle with our rival before a strange portal suddenly opened up and suck us in."

He remembered, though it had felt more like a lucid dream to him now with everything that's happened. "Oh yeah, I remember now."

Why did it happen? Correction, how did it happen? And why did it happen too them? These were questions for another time because he knew they had more pressing matters at the moment.

After a moment of heavy thought, he got up to his feet and with little hesitation, he kicked Vali right in the stomach causing the boy to let out a loud grunt of pain.

"What the fuck man?!?" Vali cried out indignantly. "Why did you-"

Instead of letting Vali finish his raging rant,l and not wanting to get into a fight, Issei instead pointed towards the massive medieval city infront of them.

Vali blinked. Then he blinked again before rubbing his eyes and blinking a third time, "Okay." He said dumbly before turning to Issei with a blank expression on his face, "What the fuck am I looking at?"

"If I knew that I would have told you already."

"That's fair but still how did we get here?" Issei arched an eyebrow at the question.

"You mean you don't remember?" He asked incredulously. How could anyone forget when a fucking portal appears right in front of them and sucks them up? Well, the answer is Vali apparently.

"No. Why should I?" The silver haired devil asked only to be pointedly ignored by Issei as he seemed to hyper focus on the town itself as an idea slowly began to form in his head.

"Vali please put your Sacred Gear away." He requested as he unsummoned the Boosted Gear. "Alright, what's your plan partner?" Ddraig asked through their mental link, as Issei began to make his way down towards the town while beckoning for Vali to follow him.

'That's simple. We go down the the town and pretend we're some lost travelers. I know it's a simple plan but it's the only one we have at the moment.' Issei explained as he and Vali got closer to the town.

Thirty minutes later and the pair had found themselves settling inside a small café as they discussed what they've learned in the past 20 minutes.

"So this place is called Earthland? Not very imaginative is it?" Vali asked Issei as they passively scanned the cafe for anything interesting before finally noticing the strange trio seated behind them.

'You sense it to, don't you partner?' Ddraig asked his partner as Issei nodded his head in confirmation. 'I do and so does Vali.'

'You know what this means, right?'

'Yeah. Dragons also exist here but the question is: are they like the ones back in our world or are they completely different?' He parsed his lips and glanced over to Vali, who, he assumed, was having a similar conversation with his partner.

"Don't do anything stupid Vali." He warned as he placed a hand on Vali's shoulder.

"What do you mean?" He whispered innocently, causing Issei to roll his eyes in annoyance.

"What I mean is, don't go up to them and ask about dragons! Okay?" He ordered his rival, causing Vali to deflate a little.

"Then what can I do?" He whined quietly, not wanting to draw the trio's attention on to them. Issei glanced over to the trio, good they were still there but it looked like the pink haired guy and his cat were preparing to leave soon.

"I want you to tail the guy, don't get to close to him and don't pick a fight with him." Vali scowled at his order but nodded nonetheless. "Good, now I want you to meet up with me at the edge of the town after your done watching him."

Vali looked confused for a second, "And what will you be doing?" He asked Issei, only to get a wry smile in response.

"I'll be following the blond girl from the sky." He answered as he saw the pink haired guy and his cat start to leave. "She might help us learn more about this place."

His answer seemed to satisfy Vali, as he got up to leave without another word, just as the blond girl began to rage about having to pay the bill.

Issei winced at that. He understood her anger and could sympathise with it, having been forced to pay for multiple meals whenever he went on a date with one his fiancée's. Thank God that he had large income otherwise he'd have been stuck in deep dept.

'Partner!' Ddraig roared in his head, verbally shaking his host from his thoughts. "Huh, wha-?"

'The girls leaving.' The dragon revealed as noticed that the girl was indeed preparing to leave. 'Oh fuck.' Now, how was he going to leave without making it look like he was following her?

He watched her for a few moments more as she paid for the bill and left the café. 'Guess I'll take to the roofs then.' He thought as he finally stood up from his seat and made to leave.

I think this is a good end point for the chapter. I'm pretty sure I made a great start for the story. Now to confirm, Issei's harem: it will feature all his cannon girls but it will also have Murayama, Katase, Aika, Gabriel, Le Fay, Cana, Lisanna, Kagura and possibly a few others.

I'm not certain who Vali will end up with but that's for me to decide at a later date but you are free to leave suggestions.
