Lily and I picked up our class assignments in an enormous line in a small reception area, slips of paper were handed out to us , everyone here seemed to understand the routine and it made me more nervous than usual, reminding me that I was just the new girl in all this.

"When are classes starting?"I asked, trying to hide the nervousness from my voice but failing miserably.

"Classes don't start on the first day of school, it has always started on the  second day to give students a chance to settle in."she explained.

I felt awkward being the new girl, no one was staring now but I could guarantee they were all already talking about  me.

I remained quiet besides her , too afraid to speak–until I saw the boy,well his back again.The sunlight through the glass in the hallways turning his golden-brown hair to bronze.

I withheld a gasp, how could I be so shocked by just seeing his back?

He was surrounded by a group of both boys and girls,by the way they dressed and styled their hair and the way everyone seemed to keep away from them said it all, they were the popular group.

That wasn't the worst part, one of them was royal, if only I could tell who was.

Lily and I continued to walk forward, the cute boy and his clang was right in front of the door, so we had to pass in front of them whether or not we wanted too.

"Excuse me."Lily said to the group, sounding a bit annoyed, I could tell she didn't fancy them too much.

And that's when it happened— he turned and I was able to see his entire face , I got a good look at him for the first time, he was young maybe about my age.His straight golden-brown hair fell across his forehead, probably mussed from his sword fighting.His jaw was strong and angular, with a solid muscular body and amazingly dark captivating blue eyes.The kind of eyes that one could possibly drown in.

His eyes which was his most outstanding feature was darkening as we locked gazes in a heated stare.

Did he like what he saw?I hoped he did.

He broke the silence first.

"What name goes with such loveliness?"he asked softly.He leaned forward, caught my hand and gently tugged me towards him until we were inches apart.

What name?what name?I couldn't remember my own name! in fact I could barely think clearly at this moment, not with him so close, not with him staring at me intensely and definitely not with his sweet minted breath fanning my cheeks.

Goosebumps rushed up my bare arm.

He frowned at me, waiting for an answer."Name?"he persisted.

A clean masculine scent assailed my nostrils and I couldn't remember what he had just asked.

"What?"

He surprised me with a dazzling smile, seeming delighted with my confusion.It had a strange effect on my body, sort of like melting honey.

"It seems as if you have forgotten your name."he whispered obviously amused with my speechless state, causing me to blush in return.

I closed my eyes, it was the only way to think properly, something that was impossible with him staring at me with a twinkle in his deep blue eyes.

"Gabriella."

His tongue clicked as he studied my name."Nice name but what's your last name?"

My eyes snapped opened immediately, I couldn't tell him my last name, especially not with everyone listening attentively to our conversation.He stared back at me curiously, waiting for an answer.

However I didn't have to say anything—

"She is none other than the famous Gabriella Jones, Princess of bad fairies."a familiar voice said.If that voice came from the person whom I thought it was then I was already in deep trouble.

I didn't want to look but my curiosity got the better of me , there standing to the side of the cute boy with her hands resting on his shoulders was none other than Bianca Lil.

Why?Why out of everyone did I have to meet her here?

She was wearing a strapless top with fitted jeans, her eyes were almond-shaped, a light gray colour and a mouth with firm lips molded over white teeth.I always thought of her as being beautiful but that's only on the outside, wish I could say the same about the inside.She was a good fairy, however that was only based on her title, inside she was rotten to the core.

I stole a glance at the boy and tried not to gasp, the look of adoration and fascination was long gone, replaced by anger and hate.

I was beyond surprised— okay that was not entirely true, I wasn't surprised at all, this was a reaction I had gotten used to over the past few years of growing up.It wasn't just him alone, everyone in the group were practically throwing daggers at me with their eyes.

"Oh the famous Gabriella, why the hell are you here princess?"one of the boys from the group asked glaring at me.

"What does it look like she's doing here?Its obvious she is here to study you big douchebag!"Lily almost shouted next to me and I was grateful for her being here, I don't think I could of handled this all by myself.

"Lily, what are you doing with her?"someone hissed from the back of the group.

Lily stiffened besides me as her eyes widened then narrowed.

"She is my friend Alex."she said firmly.

"Well if you want to be my girlfriend then you can't remain friends with her."he warned as he stepped forward, allowing me to get a better look at him.

He had dark brown hair and grayish eyes, similar to Bianca's,he was good looking to say the least.

I watched in horror as Lily nodded her head in agreement."You are right Alex."she agreed and I felt my heart sink but I couldn't blame her if she chose her boyfriend instead of staying friends with me.

"Good, you'll end your friendship then?"he questioned as if to confirm.

Lily's reply however shocked everyone in the group including me.

"No, I'm breaking up with you, Gabriella is my friend and I'm not going to stand and watch as you guys pick on her."she replied angrily.

I couldn't believe she just said that, neither could anyone in the group, judging by the shocked look on each of their faces.

"You broke up with my brother for her, she is the princess of bad fairies!"Bianca shrieked in shock.Her brother?Alex was her brother?Now that she mentioned it , I did notice a resemblance.

"I agree that her title says that she is a bad fairy but I could safely say that she has more character and decency than any one of you here.She has a beautiful personality and whether she is a good or bad fairy

doesn't concern me, its how good she is of a friend is what matters.And one more thing Bianca, Gabriella is and will always be a better fairy than you are, both inside and out."Lily spat out grabbing my hands as we pushed our way through the shocked and angry group .

We both remained quiet as we headed back up to our room.

I stepped inside as she shut the door quietly behind us.

I broke the silence first.

"Thank you for standing up for me but you shouldn't have ended your relationship, you've only met me today."I muttered sadly, afraid that she would soon realise that she made a mistake and hate me for what had happened with her and Alex.

She walked towards me and I looked up to meet her eyes."Do not thank me for that, that's what friends are for and as for the relationship I'm actually grateful to you for that, I've been wanting to get out of that relationship for weeks now."she explained grinning.

"Oh" was all I managed to say before memories of the handsome boy flashed back in my mind.

"Who was the guy who had asked me my name?"I heard myself asking.

"That's Justin Cliff, Prince of good fairies."she answered.
