((Y/N)'s POV) Age: 6

I remember my 5th birthday when I would learn magic just like my 4 brothers, be a powerful military wizard, and make my whole family proud... That was a year ago and at first Mother and Father said I was a late bloomer so I could still see their military and royalty friends from other rich families, but they only gave me a week after to learn anything before Father acted like a Squad Captian to me. The training was so hard my body would hurt for weeks and Mother made me study so hard that I would have headaches and still not remember much. There were even sparring matches between my brothers that I had to do, but what's stupid is that expect to land a hit on my 21-year-old oldest brother and he is in charge of a small squad while I don't even have magic! Hiding just makes them mad and trains me harder when they find me, they made me go and kill an animal, but I couldn't do it... Father yelled and smacked me before sending me to my room for embarrassing him. 4 months ago, I made a decision... I hate fighting and I tried to hate magic, but sometimes I would see wizards out there that look like they are having so much fun with their magic.

(Y/N)'s mind-What did I do to deserve all of this?

Just then the door to my room opened and my Father came in.

(Y/N)-... Father.

Father-Come.

(Y/N)-Is it a mile run or going straight to sparring matches after warm-ups.

Father-I had enough of your weakness that will humiliate this family. I tried everything for you for over a year... I tried whipping you into shape, I tried studying relentlessly, I tried putting you in very stressful situations, but your weakness... It is just so stubborn and determined to be a disgrace to this household and our military... Lucky for you, we may have found a solution and you 'will' have magic by the end of today.

There was a time when I would have been happy to hear that, but the way he said it made me feel nervous. He took my arm and took me with him down the halls and I didn't see my brothers, but I did see Mother looking at me so cold, but if it were my brothers, she would smile.

She walked with us and soon we made it to a room with a few doctors and I saw a weird-looking lacima on a table.

(Y/N)-What's happening?

Mother-We purchased something for you. A gift, all thanks considered.

Father-It was discovered months ago and when we heard that it can gave those magic powers, we took it.

(Y/N)-I... never heard of that... Then why are their doctors here instead of other wizards?

I tried to back up, but Father did not let go. I think I know the answer.

Mother-Be assured they have healing magic. It won't even leave a scratch when they are done.

I felt so scared and knew this was going to be surgery to force me to have it, so I started crying and pulling away. It didn't work and I got hit by a cloud of dust that made me super sleepy... I was out cold.

(Timeskip ???)

(Y/N)-*GASP*!!!

I took deep breaths and woke up in my bed while it still looked like nighttime outside. I felt around my body and there was nothing wrong, so I looked in a mirror. Besides remember the day my family haired someone to change my hair color until I earned to look more like them, that was it.

(Y/N)'s mind-Oh thank God... It was just a bad dream... It was nothing, but a bad dream.

(Y/N)-*Phew*.

I calmed down and felt... really hungry and something was making my sweet tooth go crazy, so I left my room and went to the kitchen. Looks like nobody was in here so I went for the fridge and found pudding, leftover cake, ice cream, pastries, and many other desserts... I never wanted sweets more than I do right now, so I got a plate and then took a little of everything I could fit. Cake, pudding, ice cream, and so on.

(Y/N)'s mind-So good! ~

I ate until I was full, but instead of feeling bad and heavier, I felt a lot of energy. I felt like the mile didn't seem so bad anymore and I could even beat my record. When I went to clean my plate I knocked over a pot on the dish rack and since I was limited to moving from being on a stool, it landed on my foot and it had other things to make it heavy.

(Y/N)-AAAAHHHHHHH!!!

When I screamed, a lot of pink mist came out of my mouth and it filled the room quickly and so hard it blew open the doors I left cracked open. It smelled very sweet, but I got so scared because now I knew that bad dream was not a dream at all... it was real... I had surgery and they put that lacrima in me!

(Y/N)-What kind of magic is this?!

Lots of things were going through my head, but I mainly thought about what this magic would do and how Father might go harder on me... Speaking of which, he came in covering his mouth and nose with a rag, sword drawn, and Mother just covering her mouth behind him... They looked mad.

(Y/N)-What did you do to me?!

(Timeskip 2 Minutes)

I was taken outside and learned my brothers went on a vacation while I was to be trained with this lacrima inside me! There was a dummy in front of me and Father pushed me in front of it.

Father-Attack the dummy... NOW!!!

I don't know how this magic works but screaming worked last time and I saw Mother watching from her window... I took a deep breath and tried to focus before screaming again, but this time much less mist came out... It made some wind but didn't hurt the dummy at all which made Father hit me on the back of the head.

Father-Are you not focusing?!

(Y/N)-I'm trying!

Father-Dragon Slayer magic is not that pathetic! You should be able to destroy boulders!

(Y/N)'s mind-Dragon Slayer magic?

He pushed me ahead while standing a few feet behind me.

Father-You're not going inside until that dummy is reduced to nothing!

(No POV)

(Y/N) blasted that pink mist at the dummy again and again with no effect, but he was getting tired and hungry so less and less mist came out. All he got to eat for breakfast outside was a piece of bread, some eggs, bacon, and water. Meanwhile, he saw his parents inside enjoying a 5-course meal for breakfast prepared by the servants... This made (Y/N) go off somewhere to cry feeling pathetic by himself until a bear came out from the woods and to the fence next to where (Y/N) was.

(Y/N)-*Sniffle* What do you want?!

He yelled feeling mad and instead of roaring, the bear licked him through the bars. After calming down, he tried to share some bacon, but the bear ignored it in favor of licking him.

(Y/N)-Looks like you don't hate me.

Unknown to him, many predators in the forest were completely calm. Wolves and rabbits could go passed each other with no problems at all. When the bear left, it walked past many animals that it would see as competition or food. 

((Y/N)'s POV)

I'm not ever going to be a real part of this family, am I? First, it was the hard training, the unfair treatment, and now that I have magic, I'm eating outside because I can't destroy some stupid dummy!

(Y/N)'s mind-I hate this family and I hate this stupid military power!

I walked around just to hate everything about this place, but then I found the morning paper with a headline... "Fairy Tail in the Magic Games: Fallen Guild Returns" I looked and it was dated a month ago and that's when I thought about it. My family would make fun of Fairy Tail which used to be so powerful, but became one of the weakest guilds out there. Father even said drunk that you couldn't pay him enough to even set foot near that broken down guild windmill of a guild hall.

(Y/N)'s mind-Well if they are failures to him just like me... That might be the best place for me to go.

I got some money to go there, find easy jobs, and even if it's hard, anywhere is better than here. It has to be... I might actually matter.

(Y/N)-Screw this family... A trip to Fiore can't be that hard compared to all the training I am forced to do and now getting this kind of treatment... Yeah. How long and hard can it be if I take a train?

(Timeskip 2 Hours)

I snuck back into the house, and took the money from my room which was 150,000 jewel I was gonna save for armor and weapons, stole some food which was mainly cookies, bread, some sandwiches, chips, and water, snuck away from home, and ran I think 2 miles with very little breaks o be sure nobody noticed I was gone until it was too late... None of that was as bad as this part. I never got sick on train rides before, but why was this happening now?! I felt like I was going to lose my breakfast while a few staff came to check if I was okay which it was just motion sickness.

Man-Are you ok, Little Boy? Where are your parents?

(Y/N)-They-. *BLLLAAAHHHHH*!!!

Man-Um... Anyone know this child?

(Y/N)'s mind-Get me off this train, soon! When are we getting to Fiore?!

It felt like a million years on that train, but when it finally stopped at the train station, I got off feeling much better. I never loved solid ground more than anything else in the world! 

(Y/N)-Never leave me again!

Man-Are you... hugging the ground?

(Y/N)-... Why are you not hugging the ground?

Man-Where are your parents?

(Y/N)-Um... Over there.

When he turned, I ran as fast as I could into the crowd to slip away and made it to the city before breathing a sigh of relief. Looked like a nice city too and I asked where Fairy Tail was, but when I got directions it led me to a huge castle-like guild hall...

(Y/N)-That can't be right... An old broken-down windmill... Should be outside of town.

I headed out and thought I saw one out in the hills, so I went over to see it up close and now it looked more believable. I went up to it and was about to open the door, but that is when someone came out... She looked very pretty and carrying a box full of papers.

???-Oh, hello.

(Y/N)-H-Hi...

Ok, so I never really talked to a lot of people outside of the house for conversations. This was just harder than I thought.

???-Is there something I can help you with?

(Y/N)-Oh, um... I just came to join Fairy Tail. If I can?

She looked around like she was looking for other people until she looked back at me and smiled so warmly.

???-Well, then it's a good thing you came here when you did or you would have missed me. I'm just carrying the last of the papers we needed.

(Y/N)-I can help.

???-Well, aren't you a little gentleman. ~ My name is Mirajane, but everyone just calls me Mira.

(Y/N)-I'm (Y/N). (Y/N) (L/-... Just (Y/N), sorry.

Mira-*Giggles* Well follow me, (Y/N). When we get back, I can give you your emblem and you can meet everyone

(Y/N)-What about jobs and maybe a good hotel room to rent out?

Mira-Oh? Thinking about jobs already?... Let's wait a little bit on that. How about, what color do you want your emblem to be and where do you want it?

(Mirajane's POV)

I gave (Y/N) a stack of papers to carry. Just jobs we didn't get around to doing, yet. During the walk, he wanted the emblem on his left arm and had it be (F/C). I did other things for small talk and butter him up since he looked shy and about to go into a very loud and chaotic place. He was also very cute. With these matters aside, I went for a slightly bigger question.

Mirajane-So, what kind of magic can you use?

He looked at me kind of worried and there was something about his eyes... That made me feel a little extra fuzzy inside this time. He even was cutely chewing on some candy he had.

(Y/N)-Um... I think it's... some kind of Dragon Slayer magic.

Mirajane-Really? That makes you the 5th one in our guild. We have Natsu, Gajeel, Wendy, and Laxus.

(Y/N)-Do you know how it works?

Well, I tried to explain it to him, but he said he only breathes a pink mist so fast and it doesn't do any damage. He also doesn't know what to eat to regain power. So there is a lot he doesn't know about his own power, but thankfully for him, we have plenty of experience with this. The more we talked the closer we got to the guild and... I just felt attached to him and wanted to hold him! He was just so adorable! When we made it back to the guild hall, his jaw fell open.

Mirajane-What's wrong?

(Y/N)-I-I was just here... You sure this is the place?

Mirajane-Oh, this is our new guild hall we got after we made it back to the number 1 guild rank. That place we just came from was the old guild hall... Come inside and meet everyone. Sadly, the other dragon slayers are all out on jobs, but I think Wendy should be back the soonest.

He slowly tried to come closer, but it looks like he heard everyone inside and it was nothing like a fight, but just talking. I didn't find out much about his past, but this might be hard for him. I should bring him in, but the thought of having him all to myself for a little while.

Mirajane's mind-It's not keeping him from the guild hall, it's just to put his feet in the water.

I took the papers I gave to him back.

Mira-Wait out here for a little bit.

((Y/N)'s POV)

Mira went inside and quickly came out with the tool to give me my emblem. When she gave me my (F/C) emblem on my arm, I felt like I was a part of something much bigger than I came for... It just didn't feel like a good thing. How am I supposed to help the number 1 guild in any way?

Mirajane-How about I help you get settled in and we can come back tomorrow? We have guild dor-... I-I mean, we have places to stay like hotels, but if you feel lonely you could always... stay with me for a while.

(Y/N)-Um... I got lots of money. I can get a hotel room somewhere or maybe even rent an apartment for a while.

Mirajane-But what about furniture and bills as well as getting things like food, medicine, more clothes, and other things? That will go right through your money. Maybe take on a few jobs so you can see what's out there. There is plenty of room at my place with my brother and sister.

I don't know because I never shared a room or been away from home before. I also don't want to be a bother at her home. This is going to be my first impression, so I was going to make it one that shows I can pull my own weight... Besides, it's not like I can go back home.

(Y/N)-I'm just gonna find a hotel room. If I have a question, I can call you.

Mirajane-Now, how am I supposed to let a child get a hotel room all on your own? Besides, we're both guild mates and that makes us family.

(Y/N)-But... I didn't even take a job, yet. How do you know I'm even strong enough to be here.

She started to walk with me somewhere and explained that members in the guild may be strong, but that is not what makes them number 1. I'm pretty sure those that say they won the Magic Games and would have to beat Sabor Tooth have to be the reason they are number one. She says everyone in the guild cares about each other and sticks together, so it's her job to help look out for me like everyone else. When we got to the hotel room, I used my money to get the room which was cheap, but the place looked decent. What she said also gave me lots to think about so I ate some more sweets to comfort me which made her squeal for some reason.

Mirajane-*Squeal*.

(Y/N)-Um... So what else does a family do?

Mirajane-Oh, well... My siblings and I sleep together after a long day sometimes. Did you ever have that?

(Y/N)-Um... does sleeping out in tents and shelters we built count?

Mirajane-So long as it was nice and cozy.

I remember how small they were and when I tried to help, I got stuck with the small jobs, and that meant less space for me. I think she saw from the look on my face that it was a 'no'.

Mirajane-Awwwww, poor thing... Here, how about I show you what it feels like?

She got on the bed with me and held me in her arms and lap before reaching into my bag to see the other food and stuff I had. She was surprised by how much money I had, but I didn't think it was that much... I just saved up since I was never really allowed to go out much until I showed progress in training. All of this felt weird, but she took a sandwich, unwrapped it, and held it up to me.

Mirajane-Here... Say 'ahhhhhhh'. ~

Nobody ever did any of this for me, but she did smell nice... and this was cozy. Like a long day of training, but I will be taking a hot bath after this. My parents can't take away hot water here. Mother and Father say I will have to earn hot water at shower time so they make me go last and most of the time I just get lukewarm water.

(Mirajane's POV)

This felt so amazing and I got to enjoy this all to myself on his first day. His little blushes were so adorable, but he nuzzled into me a little while looking at me like he was confused. I'll bring him into the guild tomorrow, but this was just going to be a day for him just to get to know me since he will be seeing me a lot. I even noticed he had a lot of sweets and when he ate them, he had a little twinkle in his eyes that just drove me crazy.

Mirajane's mind-So you have a sweet tooth, huh?... Looks like I know how to be your favorite in the guild. ~
