(I'm writing this before a swim meet I'm supposed to time kms I don't wanna)

*Phil's POV*

Dan and I had been together for about two weeks. We were both literally so happy we were finally together and we were rarely separated. Thankfully, it being early July, Dan could spend as much time in the forest as possible and his mother didn't care. 

Although, she didn't know about me. Or us. 

Dan had offhandedly mentioned before that his mum didn't know he was bisexual, so I assumed the fact that he had a boyfriend would be a bit of a shock to her. 

Boyfriend. I like that. 

However, Dan had decided the day before that he was going to come clean about us. He came to the forest and collected me, as usual. We decided to spend today at the clearing where we first kissed before we went to his house. 

Yes, you heard me right. He collected me. Thing is, he wasn't able to sleep in the forest every night. Every three nights or so he would, but when he didn't, I was all alone. I usually went to Marlhy's treehouse and slept in her place because I was scared of the dark. It was still painful, though, and I ended up cuddling my sweatshirt to sleep because I missed Dan.

Once we got to the clearing, we laid down on the grass and talked for hours. That was our specialty. We would talk about anything and everything for as long as we could.

Dan brought pizza today for us to eat, and so we ate while we talked. Once we had finished, we left the clearing and went back to visit Marlhy. Chris was there, which made me a little uncomfortable at first. I thought he was flirting with Dan constantly and I didn't like that.

Nonetheless, I sat down and suppressed my jealousy.

*Dan's POV*

Today was the day. I was going to come out to my homophobic mother and so was Phil. 

It didn't seem like a good idea, admittedly. I already knew if I told her she'd kill me, and I'm being literal.

However, I loved Phil, and I'd take any beating for him.

We were absolutely terrified, and so we went to visit Chris and Marlhy before we went. They tried to console us, which worked a bit.

"Mate, I don't know. What if she doesn't support us?" I worried out loud to Chris.

"You'll be fine, Dan," he replied, "how could anyone not support a charming gentleman such as you?" He leaned over to ruffle my hair and I chuckled. Chris always knew how to cheer me up.

I heard a soft grunt from Phil, and I turned in time to see him glaring at Chris. When he noticed me staring, though, he gave me a weak grin. I didn't buy it. Something must have been brooding in his mind. Now wasn't the time to ask, though, as we had bigger issues.

"Just say you're having your friend over for dinner," Marlhy suggested, "and then once you're done eating, get some stuff packed up, get as close to the door as possible, and tell her. You can run if she retaliates."

"Thanks, Marlhy," I said, smiling, "I think we'll do that." I looked at Phil again and he nodded.

My phone's display read 17:46, so I gestured to Phil to follow me. We both left the treehouse and started towards my home, hand in hand. While we walked, I opened the calling app on my phone and dialed the number. "Mum?" I said, not waiting for her to reply, "get something started. I'm having an, um, good friend over."
