Chapter 4

Into the Castle

Jackilynn's POV

I felt someone picking me up an carrying me somewhere. I wanted to open my eyes, but I couldn't. my whole face hurt.

I forced my eyes open and saw Piérré carrying my to a castle. he looked down at me and touched my bruised face. I flinched and whimpered when he touched it. he noticed my pain and removed his hand.

"I'm taking you to get some treatment." He said. I just turned my head and put it closer to his chest.

He bent down again and whispered, "I'm sorry I slapped you." then he kissed my forehead again. I just shook my head and said nothing.

"Why aren't you talking? your still scared of me aren't you?" I shook my head no.

"Don't lie to me Jackilynn." he said sternly.

I grabbed my cheek so I could talk.

"N-no it j-just hurts." I stuttered, he didn't reply. We had reached the castle door and 2 men opened it. He walked inside and we immediately got stares, I blushed and hid my face.

He noticed and glared at the people. They immediately looked away continued what they were doing. he walked across the hall and into a white room. he sat me down in a chair.

"Stay here. I'm going to get someone."

I nodded my head and he exited the room.

Piérré's POV

I left the room, already regretting my decision. I took one last glance at her through the window then walked away. I went upstairs to my dads office. and as usual, he was sitting in his seat. "How is Faelore doing?" I asked.

"Awful, as usual." I chuckled.

"Is there something you need son?" He asked.

"She's here." He looked up from his desk.

"I'll be down in 2 minutes." I nod my head and leave. I walk back downstairs and find an aid. I tell her to head to the room I put Jackilynn in. She heads there right away.

I wait outside of her room for my dad. I see her get up and look around. She starts pulling things out of the bookshelf then putting them back in she finds a book then goes to sit back down.

Finally my dad gets here and looks in the window.

She doesn't even realize we're looking at her.

"She's pretty, Did she come willingly?" I shake my head no.

"How'd you get her here?"

"She's afraid of me....."

"Your not tell me something."

"I slapped her."

He looked back at her, she started crying. I pushed him aside and rushed in the room. I picked her up then sat down with her on my lap. She tried to get up but I kept her in place.

Then my dad walks in. "I'm not interrupting anything am I?" she shook her head no.

He came over with a tissue in hand. He wiped her tears off her face. Then he placed his hands on face. She tried to peal his hands off her face. He lifted one hand up and inspected her bruise. he glared at me.

"She looks like--" he stopped.

"I know, is it a coincidence? or is she really..."

"I don't know son. I don't know." He said and looked at her.

"Who is your biological parents, Jackilynn?" he asks. She shrugs he shoulders and shakes her head.

"What's wrong with her? is she mute?" I point to her cheek.

"Oh, I'll get some ice." he says, then he leaves the room.

I turn her around so she's facing me. she tries to draw her attention someplace else. I grab her chin softly so she would look at me.

Then unexpectedly, I lean in....

And kissed her.
