Rant: Blood Of Olympus Spoilers
*WARNING. HIGHLY OFFENSIVE TO SOME. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.*
I wrote this before I bought the book online, so I changed some things. BUT MY POINT IS STILL EXACTLY 100% THE SAME.
Do you know that feeling when a book is published and you're the only one who doesn't have yet because it's not out in the bookstores and you have to get it somehow? Like, online or through a friend who lives in a place where they sell the book and is coming to visit?
NO, BECAUSE YOU CAN JUST WALK TO A BOOKSTORE AND GET IT YOURSELF!
WHILE YOU GUYS ARE HAPPILY READING BLOOD OF OLYMPUS AND BEING SPOILERS TO US WHO DON'T HAVE IT, WE HAVE TO DWELL IN HoH BECAUSE WE CAN'T EVEN FREAKING READ BoO YET!
I honestly don't know what point this rant has, but let's just say I am very upset, and very angry because like I said, while you guys are reading the book, and SPOILING it for the fact, some of us who don't have it have to wait, and some can't even get it!
I know, you're all excited, but please think about the people who don't have it. It just came out, and imagine this: everyone else has it, you don't have it and everyone starts telling you what happens in the book, every single clear detail. Doesn't that make you upset? It's like even when you FINALLY get to read the book, you can't even enjoy it because you know what's about to happen. All that thrill, suspense, all FRIKIN GONE!
I knew what was going to happen in Divergent and TFIOS before reading them, and it didn't really affect me that much. I only read them this year, and they've been out for such a long time. I can understand if they have spoilers already, because I was technically given plenty of time to read them.
But this is different. Right after the release of a book, let other people read it first. If you get it earlier, then fine. I don't have anything against it. But don't start telling the world what happens before they have the opportunity to read it. Let the contents of the book circulate throughout the world.
Since I finished HoH in December last year, I don't think it's fair to have waited 10 months for a new book just to have someone spoil it for me. And you know what? Some people have waited longer. Don't you think it's inconsiderate for someone to spoil the content of the book to people who have waited long enough to read it by themselves?
I personally think that SHARING the experience, joy and contents of reading a new book with people who've read it too is better than SPOILING it to those who haven't.
And especially when there's like, I don't know, a comment saying, "*SPOILER ALERT DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW!!!*"
Like, WTH DUDE. I mean, I get it if you're explaining something about a book that's been out and about, been read by people from all around the world for a few weeks, maybe a month or two or more. BUT IF IT HAS NO RELATION WHATSOEVER TO WHATEVER THE TOPIC IS ABOUT AND IT'S JUST FOR THE JOY OF YOU SPOILING IT FOR OTHER PEOPLE THEN JUST GTFO.
Honestly speaking, who's happy when that happens?!
I swear, if this continues, I'm going to go off Wattpad and all social media until I get to read it.
And you know what? If I wanted to talk to someone who's already read the book about it, I'd talk to them privately. Not in a place where everyone else could see it. I respect those who don't own it.
Now I'll admit, I'll tell you guys when I finish reading it. BUT, for the sake of my other readers, if you want to talk about it, PM me. Some of them wouldn't like spoilers.
Also, a few have revealed spoilers to me. I may seem fine with them telling me, adding some 'emotion' for effect in the comments, but deep inside I am RAGING with every moment that passes. Just to let you know.
I'm sorry for this rant, but I'm sure, positive, that there must be some people out there who agree with me.
I just want to let you know, I don't mean all of you. If you've never done this, then don't. But if you have, consider this a wake up call. Not everyone gets happy with you spoiling it for them.
