The heroes left the spaceship to find themselves in a planet that seemed abandoned. Once Jessica placed her foot in the unknown territory, she felt like her body was ten times lighter. She jumped, slightly, and she was able to go much higher than she had expected.

"The hell happened to this planet?" The human member of the intruders pulled out a device and looked at it alarmed. "It's eight degrees off its axis. Gravitational pull is all over the place."

"Well, that explains this." Jessica said as she kept on jumping up and down from the lack of gravity.

"Yeah, we got one advantage. He's coming to us. We'll use it." Tony said and looked at Jessica, urging her to stop. He grabbed her by the arm when she was going down to prevent her from going back up. He then realized her broken bracelet. "What's wrong with your suit?"

"The guy from Missouri shot me in the bracelet. The housing unit is ruined, I can't generate any weapons or shields." She told him.

Inspecting the device, Tony thought the same as Jessica had before. They wouldn't be able to repair it without the proper equipment. "Looks like you'll have to fight like I've trained you."

Jessica looked at the billionaire incredulous. "Have you forgotten I have superpowers? We're facing the strongest dude in the universe and you still want me to refrain from them?"

"You can't rely on them forever." He said in a firm tone. "I want you to use them wisely." He saw the concern in the girl's eyes. He knew it was a great pressure for her. "Hey, you okay?"

Jessica just nodded. She was afraid and had little hope about their chances in defeating the titan. She would had preferred to stay back on Earth, helping with whatever she could from their home planet. But now she had to accept the fact that what she wanted didn't matter. Even though she was scared of failing, she needed to accept that she needed to overcome her fear.

Her thoughts were interrupted by Peter's questioning. "Are you sure you're alright?" He had overheard her conversation with Stark.

Jessica sighed and rubbed her face with her hands. "Yeah, Pete."

"I know you are not..."

His consistency finally triggered her to snap at him. "I still don't understand why you had to put us in this situation. We should have gone home, this is way too big for us. Aren't you scared?"

"That's exactly why I didn't want to go home." The boy replied, raising his voice. "Of course I am scared but I'm tired of backing up when something is bigger than me. I am a superhero, I can stand up to the big guy."

"Peter! You don't have to show that you're a superhero, you're already an amazing person." She honestly responded. She knew Peter wasn't the most confident person. "I don't like Spider-Man, who constantly puts himself and others in danger. I-"

She had to stop there because she was going to follow the sentence with love you almost instinctly. She blushed, as she thought in a way to rephrase her words. This wasn't exactly the moment or place to say that. "I like you. You, Peter. The nerdy, gold-hearted and smart Peter. You don't need to try and be Spider-Man all the time."

"Not Spider-Man." Peter repeated, trying to get a confirmation that that was what he had heard.

"Nope."

Still reluctant, he pointed at himself, like he couldn't believe she was talking about him. "Me?"

A chuckle scaped from Jessica. She couldn't stay mad at him for that long, especially after that revealing conversation. "You."

"I can't believe my luck." Peter smiled as he got closer to her.

"Shut up." Jessica pulled him down to kiss him. It was useless to keep blaming him for that. That wouldn't bring them back or solve all their problems.

"Hey! No smooching while we are on a mission!" The teens had to pull away when Tony yelled at them and then called them to explain what they were going to do. "All right, I have a plan."

Still holding onto her boyfriend, Jessica took a deep breath. "We gotta fight now, don't we?" Peter gave her a quick kiss on the forehead as support and then approached the Iron Man, as well as everyone else.

"Or at least the beginnings of one. It's pretty simple. We draw him in, pin him down, get what we need. Definitely, don't wanna dance with this guy. We just want the gauntlet."
He explained and both Jessica and Peter listened carefully to him. Then they realized the Guardians weren't following the conversation at all. "Are you yawning? In the middle of this, while I'm breaking it down? Huh? Did you hear what I said?"

"I stopped listening after you said, 'We need a plan.'" The Guardian replied with maybe too much honesty.

"Okay, Mr Clean is on his own page."

Their leader approached Mr Stark. "See, "not winging it" isn't really what they do."

Jessica raised an eyebrow. "What do they do then?"

"Kick names, take ass." The empath confidently said and her companion backed her up.

"Yeah, that's right."

Jessica tried to analyze and understand what they had just said. "That's gotta be wrong."

Tony, trying to move on and focus on the mission, called them out again. "All right, just get over here, please. Mr Lord, can you get your folks to circle up?"

The Guardian chuckled while he walked towards Tony. "'Mr Lord.' Star-Lord is fine."

"We gotta coalesce because if all we come at him with is a plucky attitude..."

"Dude, don't call us plucky. We don't know what it means." Star-Lord interrupted him again, making Stark sighed in exasperation. "All right, we're optimistic, yes. I like your plan. Except it sucks, so let me do the plan and that way it might be really good."

"Tell him about the dance-off to save the universe." The big guy encouraged him.

"What dance-off?"

"It's nothing."

Peter seemed to understand what they were talking about. "Like in Footloose, the movie?"

Star-Lord's eyes widened when he found out another person who had seen the movie he loved so much. "Exactly like Footloose."

However, Jessica had also seen the movie and wasn't sure that was totally accurate. "There isn't any dance-off in Footloose."

The Guardian chose to ignore her, but she still received a dirty look from the Kevin Bacon fan. "Is it still the greatest movie in history?"

"It never was." Both Peter and Jessica responded at the same time.

Mr Stark cut them off before Star-Lord could comment back. "Don't encourage this, all right?"

"Okay."

"We're getting no help from Flash Gordon here."

Star-Lord didn't look offended but rather proud of Tony's accusation. "Flash Gordon? By the way, that's a compliment. Don't forget, I'm half-human. So that 50% of me that's stupid... that's 100% you."

"Your math is blowing my mind."

The discussion could have gone on and on but thankfully the empath caught everyone's attention. "Excuse me. But does your friend often do that?" She pointed at Strange, who was floating in a meditation position. His face moved fast and he seemed to have a distressed expression.

Tony, Jessica and Peter were the first ones to run to him. The master of Mystical Arts finally woke up from his trance, out of breath.

"Strange, we all right? You're back. You're all right."

"Hi." He replied, still breathless.

"What was that?" Jessica asked.

"I went forward in time to view alternate futures. To see all the possible outcomes of the coming conflict." The wizard explained, looking at the Time Stone.

"How many did you see?"

"14,000,605."

Jessica replayed those words again in her head. The number seemed large yet exact at the same time. With so many alternative futures, there had to be a few in which they defeated Thanos and went back home safe.

"How many did we win?"

"One."

"Oh, that's great." Jessica's voice was high pitched. The same feeling that she experienced when she found out they were flying away from Earth in an alien spaceship.

Peter held Jessica's hand in an effort of comforting her. She appreciated it, but it didn't work. Only one future in which they won. One in 14 million. Jessica knew that the odds weren't in their favor. That was for sure. Now the panic she felt was to know how everything was going to go down. How the universe was going to be disrupted.
