Jessica used her recently recovered powers to fly to the alley they had said they would meet after getting the stones. She didn't even need flight stabilizers this time. She could perfectly control it. As she was landing, she heard the three Avengers discussing.

Tony seemed concerned. "Where's Jessica?" He asked Steve.

"I thought she was with you." He replied, pointing at Scott and him.

Tony walked closer to him and pointed at him back. "I thought she was with you."

"I'm here." Jessica approached the ground but never fully landed. She kept on levitating, pretty much showing off her reclaimed powers.

Tony sighed and glared at her. "What the hell did you do?"

"I got my powers back." She simply replied and it looked like Tony was having a short-circuit. However, he focused on the bigger issue, that was, they had lost one stone.

"Well, what are we gonna do now?"

"You know what? Can we...?" Tony rubbed his temples, trying to calm down his headache. "I just got hit in the head by the Hulk."

Scott was getting more and more anxious. "You said that we had one shot. This was our shot. We shot it, it's shot. Six stones or nothing."

"You're repeating yourself, you know that."

"You're repeating yourself. You're repeating yourself." Scott mocked Tony. "You never wanted a time heist, you wanted to abort the time heist. You ruined the time heist."

"Is that what I did?"

"Yeah!"

"No!" Jessica said at the same time, defending Tony. The heist had been an absolute failure but it wasn't only Stark's fault. She tried to keep everyone calmed and reason. "Are there any other options with the Tesseract?"

"No, no, no... There's no other option!" Lang exclaimed. "No do-overs, we're not going anywhere else. We have one particle left, each. That's it, alright? We use that? Bye-bye, we're not going home."

Steve stepped towards him. "Yeah, well if we don't try then no one else is going home either."

"We got it!" Tony talked directly to Cap. "There's another way to get back the tesseract and get new particles. Let's stroll down memory lane, military escalation, Garden State."

Jessica and Scott looked at each other, not knowing what the heck they were talking about. Steve frowned at Tony, appearently understanding. "When were they both there?"

"They were there..." Tony made an effort to remember. "Uh- I have a vague idea."

"How vague?"

"What are you talking about?" Jessica finally stepped in, unsuccessfully trying to get their attention.

"Where are we going?" Scott added but was ignored just as well as the girl.

"I know for fact they were there and I know how I know."

"Tony? What are you...?"

"We're improvising." Steve finally replied to their questions. He turned to Lang, handing him the scepter. "Scott, get this back to the compound."

"Jessica, you go with him." Tony told her too as he programmed his suit to go back in time again.

"What? Why?" She asked, still not knowing what was going on. "Where are you going?"

"Do as I tell you." He just replied.

"But you're not telling me what we're doing-"

Tony didn't let her finish the sentence. He grabbed her by her shoulders, making eye contact with her and ensuring she was listening to every word he said. "Look, I'm pretty positive this will work out. Still, there's a possibility it could not. I'm not gonna let you take that possibility, Jessica. Do you trust me?"

Jessica did not break the eye contact as she nodded. If Tony thought this was their only option, she was going to respect it. "More than anyone."

"Then go." Without hesitation, she walked next to Scott, took the scepter out of his hands and prepared the Pym particle to return to their present.

The Ant-Man looked at her incredulously. "But- we're just gonna leave?"

Jessica looked up at Tony once more, who nodded towards her direction. He and Steve were ready to leave, as well as them. "Yep."

They both pressed the button which sent them into the quantum realm. It only took a second to get out of it, but Jessica'd had enough time to get nervous. There was a possibility that they didn't get all the stones. There also was a possibility that neither Tony nor Steve came back from their second trip. She closed her eyes and when she opened then again, she was back at the compound, in the exact same place she was when they left.

Bruce was the first to talk. "Did we get them all?"

Jessica scanned the room. Everyone was there. When she looked to her right and found Tony beside her, she threw herself in his arms, relieved that his plan had worked. "Oh my god! You did it."

They heard Rhodey chuckle in disbelief. "Are you telling me this actually worked?"

"Clint, where's Nat?" When Bruce noticed, everyone turned to Clint. He did not respond, instead, he shook his head as a few tears escaped his eyes. He didn't need to say anything for everybody to understand. Natasha went to Vormir to get the stone and she didn't come back.

Jessica's jaw slightly dropped when she also realized. She looked up at Tony again, not believing  Natasha was gone. Nobody else said anything, as they all observed a minute of silence for their lost.

During the following hours, Jessica isolated herself in her room in the headquarters. She wasn't that close to Natasha, but she had been one of the few people she had put her trust in after the snap. Natasha was the one who helped her recover from her fight against Thanos. She had been the most invested in helping others when the world was at its darkest moment. Jessica would never forget everything Nat had done for her.

Jessica decided to change her clothes and when she removed the quantum suit, the three tubes filled with cadmium that she had taken from her father's laboratory fell onto the carpet. She had almost forgotten about them. Thankfully, none of them broke.

She picked them up from the floor. Something needed to be done with them. She had been working on her weapon for some time and now, thanks to the cadmium, it would finally be completed. Even though they had successfully finished the first part of the mission, she just wasn't contented leaving it unfinished. She felt like they had achieved their goal way too easily. There was something inside her telling her that something was going to go wrong and that she should be prepared for anything bad happening. For that reason, she decided to go down to the lab and got to work again.

Perhaps she had been in there for hours, but she was so focused that for her it only seemed like 10 minutes. She was almost finished when Tony walked into the lab and pulled her out of her trance. "Jess, can you help? We need an extra brain with the gauntlet."

She didn't even bother to look at him while she responded. She just needed to adjust some final things and her weapon would be done. "Yeah, sure. Give me one minute..."

"What are you..." Tony hovered over her shoulder, finding out what she was doing. "You're still working on that?"

"I don't like leaving my things unfinished." Jessica simply replied.

"You won't need that-"

She cut him off before he could go on and repeat once more what he had told her prior to going on their mission. "It's just in case, Tony..."

"Stop it, nothing's gonna happen."

"Anything can happen." That was when she looked at him in the eyes. "I won't stop until I see with my own eyes that we've achieved our mission."

Tony didn't reply this time. He had nothing to say. He saw himself reflected in her behavior and he knew very well that if, a few years ago, he had been in the same position, he wouldn't have done things differently.

"I hate that you're picking up these things from me." He finally said, but he didn't mean it. He loved to see how she took after him as their relationship grew. It comforted him to know that, if something happened to him, his young daughter Morgan would still grow up with her. "Alright..." He gave in, like he always did. He couldn't say no to Jessica. He was a bit confused when the girl stood up, ready to help him with the gauntlet. "Didn't you have to finish?"

"I did." She said. He, on the other hand, was perplexed. "While we were talking." She explained and made her way out of the lab. "Come on."

"Wait..." Tony stopped her before she could leave by grasping her arm. "You know we're lucky we made it, right?"

"Yeah," She looked at him in the eye and nodded once. "I know."
