Sightings

Investigator Amon was on his way to CCG headquarters for his first day back on official duty, outside of the stuffy office. Though his thigh wasn't one-hundred percent healed, he was well enough to be back on duty.

He gripped his quinque's case tightly in one hand and fiddled with his cross necklace with the other. He continued his walk with happy thoughts until he caught a glimpse of white in the alley.

Amon walked into the alley but saw nothing, making him even more confused than before. He got back onto the main sidewalk and continued walking, his shoulders tense and jaw tight. The sound of wind rushing caught his attention so he looked up, eyes widening in pure shock. Although he didn't see much, he saw the unmistakable white haired, eyepatch wearing teen girl. Himika. And from what he could catch a glimpse of, she wasn't travelling alone.

His legs seemed to move on their own and he started moving faster than before, his heart thumping so loudly he thought everyone around him could hear it. His shoes thudded against the paved sidewalk as he hurried towards the tall skyscraper that served it's purpose as CCG headquarters.

Amon rushed through the front doors and through the scanner as if he had all of hell and its demon on his tail. He didn't even stop when Akira called out his name.

"Amon! Amon! Would you slow down?!" Akira screamed, running after him, careful about her barely healed ankle.

"Sorry Akira, I have to find investigator Mado right away!" Amon replied, rounding a corner.

"You could at least wait up for me and explain why you're acting like this!"  Akira scoffed, making Amon stop in his tracks.

"Fine, let's go together then." Amon sighed, waiting for Akira to catch up.

Once she caught up, Amon started walking toward the elavators, making sure that he wasn't going too fast.

"So," Akira started. "Mind telling me what's going on?"

"I saw a glimpse of that Himika girl, running across the rooftops with someone else I didn't quite see." Amon sighed.

"And you're sure she didn't see you?" Akira asked.

"She seemed to be in a hurry and she didn't look at me." He shrugged.

"I suppose a fourteen year old running across roof tops in broad daylight is a bit strange." Akira said. "Makes sense that we tell my father. But don't you think we should speak with Takizawa as well? He is in charge of researching the Kunoichi ghoul and the Eyepatch."

"I will tell Takizawa, but later." Amon said, waiting for the elavator doors to open.

"Alright." Akira nodded.

The elevator dinged and opened, revealing Juuzou, who was busy humming away.

"Oh, hey there guys!" Juuzou greeted. "Going up?"

"Yeah, we have to go speak with investigator Mado." Amon said.

"Well you guys have fun with that!" Juuzou chirped, getting out of the elevator. "See ya!"

The pair got into the elevator and waited for the doors to shut before saying a word.

"What a strange kid." Akira said.

"He may be a bit odd, but he's a good kid." Amon replied. "I think."

Akira rolled her eyes and pressed the button for the second floor, waiting for the elavator to begin its acsent. The two stood next to each other silently, both too busy thinking about work to start a conversation. The elevator dinged and the door slid open, letting them off on the second floor.

Without bothering to knock, Amon slid open the door, making it collide with the wall. Mado swivled his chair around and narrowed his eyes.

"What's with all the urgency?" Mado asked.

"I spotted her." Amon replied.

Mado grinned, spinning his chair around twice.

"Wonderful! Tell me all about it!" He exclaimed.

"I was just coming into work when I spotted a glimpse of white. I decided to investigate; so I went into the alley and looked around." Amon began. "At first I saw nothing, but then I saw Himika jump onto a roof right above me. She didn't notice me, but she also appeared to be in a rush, and travelling with someone."

"Where was she heading towards? Where was she coming from?" Mado asked, pulling out a note pad.

"She was heading towards the outskirts of town, into the richer area. She also seemed to be coming from the twentieth ward." Amon replied.

Mado scribbled away furiously, slamming down the note pad when he finished.

"Interesting! Everything seems to be happening in the twentieth ward nowadays!" He exclaimed.

"True." Akira mumbled, crossing her arms in thought.

"We actually may have a war on our hands!" Mado gasped. "How exciting!"

Amom sighed. "Not my idea of exciting, Sir."

"Lighten up a bit Amon!" He chirped back.

"We'd love to stay and chat, but we have to talk to Takizawa now." Akira interupted.

"Of course, you two run along. I have things to do." Mado said, shooing them away with the back of his hand.

"Yes Sir." Amon nodded, heading back out the door with Akira on his tail.

The two piled into the elevator again and impatiently waited for their stop on the next floor. The elavator chimed pleasantly and they walked out of the elavator, trying to act casual (which was hard considering Amon was speed walking).

"Takizawa!" Amon shouts, slamming the door into the wall.

A shrill scream was heard as papers flew everywhere and a head of brown hair shot up.

"The hell?!" Takizawa shrieked. "You scared the crap outta me!"

"Sorry," Akira smirked. "But this is important."

"Well you've ceratinly got my attention now." He scoffed. "Do come in."

Amon disregarded Takizawa's sour mood and cleared his throat, stepping into the room.

"I've spotted that Himika Kirishima girl again." He said, pulling up a rolling office chair.

"Go on." Takizawa said, dropping his annoyed attitude.

"She was running on roof tops in broad daylight coming from the twentieth ward. Not only that, she wasn't alone, although I couldn't see who she was with." He continued.

"Definitely suspicious." Takizawa agreed. "Do you happen to have any information on the Eyepatch?"

"Sorry, no." Amon replied, shaking his head.

"Well this is better than nothing, who knows, maybe this will further the CCG's plan to attack the ghouls of the twentieth ward." Takizawa shrugged.

"Attack?" Akira asked.

"You and Amon were both still recovering when it was announced, but the CCG has plans to attack the twentieth ward in a month or two." He explained. "Although, it could even happen sooner now. I just have to talk with some of the higher ups."

"Good luck with that." Amon said, standing up.

"Thanks." Takizawa sighed.

Amon and Akira shakily left the room, staring at each other once the door was shut.

"Investigator Mado mentioned a war." Amon said, a worried look on his face.

"With war come's causulties," Akira sighed. "I don't know if some of the investigator can handle that kind of stress."

"At this point they have to be ready." Amon replied.

"Care to explain?" Akira asked, looking up at the much taller man before her.

"In a war setting you really don't have time to be stressed." He answered, looking back down at her. "If your thoughts are clouded, you die."

"I suppose that makes sense." Akira shrugged, accepting his morbid logic.

"This really isn't a good time for war." Amon sighed, shaking his head. "We have so many fresh graduates, most of them have never even fought a ghoul. Not even a low ranking one."

"They're going to die." Akira concluded.

"Not if we do something about it."

A/N

So, I've been reaally busy as of late, and I've been getting the plot together for another Naruto story I'm planning on doing. Also I found out that I have anxiety, which I'm not surprised about. Only my anxiety is a little weird. I don't get anxious from talking to people, being called on in class or anything even related to socializing with others. I'm a pretty social person and I can talk to people just fine. I get anxiety from making other people uncomfortable or anxious themself.

How did I find this out? Great question! I shall explain!

A teacher asked someone to read out of the text book and then he would tell that person to pick another person to read the next paragraph. Well, eventually a friend of mine picked me to read. I read the paragraph with no problem, but then it's my turn to pick someone to read. I pick a girl who I had talked to numerous times. By no means were we friends, at best we were aquantices. Anyway, she starts to read her part, but after reading about three words she burst into tears and ran out of the class. My friend who had picked me tapped on my shoulder and said, "Didn't you know that she has anxiety?" To which I replied, "No." Long story short, I'm told to go to the office to check on her, and when I get there to apologize I burst into tears and start rambling on about how sorry I am. Yeah. So that was bad. I tried to talk to my friends about what happened, but every time I tried to say something I would start crying and have to excuse myself from the room.

But things could be worse! Sorry about the long A/N, I just need to put it down on paper, or computer, same difference.

Hope you enjoyed the chapter!
