School

Himika forced herself out of bed when she heard a knock at her door.

"Coming." She yawned, walking to her door.

She opened the door and almost immediately felt more awake when she saw who was at the door.

"Mr. Yoshimura?" Himika said.

"I have something I need to discuss with you." He explained. "I also brought you some coffee."

Himika brightned at the mention of coffee and opened her door wider, allowing the manager to walk in and set the tray he was carrying down on her nightstand.

"What do you need to talk about?" Himika asked, taking a coffee cup from the manager.

"Well," He began. "It has come to my attention that you seen rather bored during the day when everyone else is working or at school."

Himika saw where this was going and hated it.

"No." She said quickly.

"No?" He repeated. "I haven't even finished."

"I don't want to go to school." She huffed, crossing her arms.

The manager was a little surprised at her attitude, but just chuckled at it.

"Why not?" He asked.

"I've already been to school once and I was usually an outcast." Himika replied, vaguely recalling her short few months in the academy.

"Maybe you'll make more friends." Mr. Yoshimura said.

"I had friends," She started. "All I did was let them down."

"But you have friends here at Antieku." He replied. "Like Hinami, Touka and Kaneki. You just need more friends your age."

Himika thought about it for a minute. "I still don't want to go."

The manager sighed.

"What if I enroll you and Hinami in the same school under Touka's last name?" He suggested.

"If Hinami goes then I guess I'll go too." Himika reluctantly agreed.

"That's good to hear," He smiled. "I want you ready to go in ten minutes, we have to meet with the principle, get your uniforms and buy school supplies."

Himika gave him a quick nod and began getting her clothes out.

"Meet you downstairs." He said before walking out and shutting the door.

Himika quickly changed into her clothes and tied her headband on like a belt, taking time to adjust her scarf and eyepatch. She brushed her hair into a ponytail and walked out of her room, shutting the door with a 'click.'

"Ready to go." Himika said as she reached the bottom of the steps.

"Great, let's get going." The manger said.

Himika smiled slightly when she noticed that Hinami was coming along on their little adventure.

"First thing is we need to go to the principle and get your uniforms." The manger said. "Pay attention to the way we go because you two will have to walk together to school."

The path to school was fairly easy. Mostly straight with two right turns. Himika breathed a sigh of relief as she saw the school and didn't have to walk anymore.

"Remember you two," Mr. Yoshimura piped up. "Your names are Hinami Kirishima and Himika Kirishima. You two are not blood related and Himika is adopted, Hinami you are my granddaughter."

"Got it!" Hinami exclaimed.

"Understood." Himika agreed, much less enthusiastic.

"Let's go in then." He said, placing a supporting hand on each of their shoulders.

The school, from what Himika could tell, was a grade seven to nine school, meaning it was middle school. Himika didn't know what grade they were going into, but assumed it was grade seven.

Could be grade eight though, you're like thirteen and Hinami will be fourteen soon. I think.

Himika rolled her eyes at Shin's not so helpful comment and settled for asking Mr. Yoshimura.

"What grade are we going into?" She asked.

"Eight." He replied.

Himika figured it was because of their age, although she would have preferred to be with the grade sevens because they would have been in the same boat as her. They would be 'new.'

They eventually made it to the principals office and were told by a secretary to head into his office.

The principal was a tall man with black hair and smokey grey eyes. His jet black hair beginning to get steaks of grey from stress.

"You must be Mr. Yoshimura." He said, smiling brightly. "Please all of you take a seat."

There were exactly three chairs lined up in a row and they sat with Mr. Yoshimura in the middle.

"My name is Mizu Takaro and I'm the principal of this school." He introduced.

"Pleasure to meet you, I'm Mr. Yoshimura and these are my grandchildren, Himika and Hinami Kirishima." The manger said, gesturing at them one at a time.

"Pardon me asking, but are you all blood related?" Pricipal Mizu asked.

"No, Hinami is my granddaughter, but Himika was adopted when she was two." Mr. Yoshimura lied.

"I see. Well it's lovely to see that you all get along." He said with a smile. "Now let's get this paperwork done so you two girls can get your uniforms!"

Mr. Yoshimura was asked questions for about an hour before he finally got to sign the last document.

Principal Mizu called someone in to do Hinami and Himika's measurements for their uniforms. Himika thought the girls name was Mika or Miku, but she wasn't really listening.

"Himika needs a medium sized uniform because she has longer arms and legs and is a bit on the taller side." The woman decided. "Hinami needs a size small, she is much smaller in comparison and doesn't have such long limbs."

"Thanks, I'll be sure to send in the orders and their uniforms should be mailed to you in a day or two. They can start school on Monday." Principal Mizu said.

"Thanks a lot Mr. Takaro, I hope to see again sometime." Mr. Yoshimura said as he began getting up.

"I hope to see you as well. Take care." He replied.

Mr. Yoshimura led them out of the school and back onto the main streets, heading for the shopping district.

"And now it's time to shop fit school supplies." The manger reminded.

"Yay!" Hinami cheered.

"Yay?" Himika repeated, wondering if shopping for school supplies counted as fun.

"Come on Himika! It'll be fun!" Hinami insisted.

"Sure... Fun." Himika sighed, clearly unconvinced.
