Preperation

Himika didn't really feel many emotions, but for once she was actually concerned about something.

Kaneki had yet again disappeared, Mr. Yoshimura barely spoke to her, Touka was busy studying for her university entrance exams, and Tsukiyama had appeared more often.

Hinami was either totally oblivious, or she was good at hiding her concern.

Himika sat up in her room, fiddling with her headband, as she again struggled to recall memories. She brought the headband up to her face and looked at it closer, seeing her reflection in the metal. She still wore her black hoodie and black sweatpants, her hair was tied back in a ponytail and a white medical eye patch covered her right eye.

She placed the old headband down on her nightstand and walked over to her window, staring out of it calmly.

A soft knock was heard on the door and a quiet voice spoke.

"Himika, can I come in?"

Himika slowly walked over to the door and opened it, peeking at who was there.

Hinami stood there, her short hair pinned back, and her girlish clothes replaced by a white tank top, black shorts, and white tennis shoes.

"Hinami?" Himika said quietly. "What are you doing here?"

Hinami clenched her fists, looking up at Himika with a look of pure determination.

"I want you to teach me!" She exclaimed.

"Teach you what though?" Himika asked, tilting her head like a confused puppy.

"How to be strong, like you and big brother Kaneki!" She replied.

She suddenly bowed, making Himika flinch in surprise.

"Please teach me!"

"I'm not a good teacher." Himika replied.

"Please!" Hinami pleaded, bowing her head again.

Himika sighed, leaning against the door frame.

"Fine." She gave in. "When do we start?"

Hinami shot up and grabbed her hand.

"Now!"

Himika shrugged as she was dragged along by Hinami to God knows where. They made it to the front of the shop before Himika finally stopped her.

"We can't be seen, what if we run into the Doves?" Himika scolded.

"It's not that far, and besides, we can take the back streets." Hinami replied.

"Fine then, but if I feel we're in danger we head back immediatly." Himika caved.

"Follow me."

Himika didn't have much time to react, because right after that Hinami took off, ducking into a nearby alley. Himika quickly dashed after her and the two used the dark cover of the alleys to avoid getting spotted.

"There's a dead end up ahead, get ready to jump onto the rooftop." Hinami said, glancing back at Himika while still running.

"Got it." Himika replied, getting ready to jump.

They came up to the side of a two story apartment and Hinami springed up onto a balcony before jumping onto the roof. Himika followed right behing, getting onto the roof with ease.

"Only a few more roofs and we can jump into the alleys again." Hinami said before jumping onto the next roof, which was a little higher up.

Himika nodded, following after Hinami and jumping onto the next roof. Himika's eyes darted left to right nervously, and she was extremely tense, but she was glad nothing happened yet. They continued on the roof tops for another minute before Hinami hopped down into another alley. Himika followed her example and dropped down into the alley, stopping when she saw Hinami stop.

"We have to walk on the sidewalk, but only for a minute." Hinami said. "You ready?"

"Yes." Himika replied, hodding her head.

"Follow me." Hinami whispered.

Hinami and Himika snuck out of the alleys and walked along the sidewalk, through what looked like a richer area of Tokyo, possibly near the outskirts. They stopped at the front gates of the long driveway of a large mansion, most likely a family estate.

Hinami pushed a button on a metal panel beside the gate, making a short buzzing sound before a voice came from the box.

"State your name and buisness." The voice crackled.

"Hinami, and Himika Kirishima. We're here to see Tsukiyama." Hinami said.

"Yes, the master has been expecting you, come in." The voice sighed before the gates began to creak open.

"Come on." Hinami urged, tugging Himika forward by the sleeve of her hoodie.

"Tsukiyama lives here?" Himika asked, gasping in awe at the size of the house.

"His family is really wealthy." Hinami shrugged, continuing her walk up the driveway.

"And I'm guessing people don't know they're...." Himika trailed off.

"Ghouls?" Hinami guessed, keeping her voice low.

Himika nodded.

"People have no idea, the Tsukiyama family has kept it secret for years." Hinami explained, finally making it up to the front door.

Hinami pressed her finger to the doorbell and waited, listening to the pleasant chime that came from inside. The door slowly began to open and a man with white hair and a white moustache peaked out.

"Hinami, it's so nice to see you again." The man greeted, then noticing Himika. "And I see you've brought a friend."

"Hello, my name's Himika. Nice to meet you." Himika said, bowing her head instead of smiling.

"Not much of a talker?" He chuckled, noticing Himika's usual silence.

Himika shook her head, offering a shrug instead of words.

"Master Shuu has been expecting you, he's waiting in the garden." The man said, opening the door wider. "Follow me please."

The girls followed the man inside, Himika looked around curiously, and Hinami didn't seem very interested in the decor. The man lead them to another door and slid it open, revealing a large rose garden. Rose bushes outlined the garden and several ceramic pots were placed around, each of them holding roses, red, yellow, pink, and even white.

In the middle of the garden stood a familiar purple haired french ghoul, this time wearing only a white dress shirt, black pants, and dress shoes instead of his usual brightly coloured suits.

"Mes chéris!" Tsukiyama exclaimed coming over to greet the girls.

The white haired man bowed before disappearing back into the house, leaving the three of them alone. Hinami skipped over to Tsuikyama, dragging Himika along with her.

"Himika?" Tsukiyama gasped. "Does this mean Hinami convinced you to come?"

"I only came because Hinami wanted me to teach her." Himika scoffed. "Speaking of that, why do you need me if you have Tsukiyama?"

"Because I can only help her with her koukaku, not her rinkaku." Tsukiyama interupted.

"I suppose that makes sense." Himika nodded.

"So then what're we waiting for? Let's get started!" Hinami chirped.

~

"I'm.... So.... Tired..." Hinami huffed. "No... More..."

"You can't just ask your opponent to stop." Himika said, throwing a punch in Hinami's direction.

Hinami rolled to the left and barely dodged, throwing a weak punch back at her.

"Oui, she's right." Tsukiyama agreed, taking a sip of water off to the side.

Hinami stumbled, barely avoiding a kick and landing on her butt.

"Can... We.... Break?" Hinami asked in between breaths.

"Fine." Himika agreed, walking over to where Tsukiyama sat.

"Here." Tsukiyama said, offering a water bottle to both girls.

"Thanks." Both girls said at the same time before opening them and taking a huge gulp.

Hinami set down her water bottle agressively and crossed her arms, making Himika and Tsukiyama look at her in confusion.

"I don't get it! How can you guys be so good at this?" Hinami pouted.

"A lot of practice mon cher." Tsukiyama replied.

Himika would answer, but memories flashed through her head, ones that were missing many pieces.

Himika and fiveothers stood on a bridge, on the other side of the bridge stood a shirtless man with cow print leg warmers. A giant cleaver was strapped to his back and he wore a mask of bandages. They broke out in a fight, although she couldn't remember what they were fighting over.

Another image flashed.

The man with the giant sword laid dead on the bridge, laying next to him was a kid around Himika's age, who also was dead. Himika ran away from the bloody scene, crying.

"...ika... Himika!"

Himika snapped back to reality, making Hinami and Tsukiyama jump back in surprise.

"Are you alright Himika?" Tsukiyama asked.

"I'm... Fine." Himika replied, folding her hands together and placing them on her lap.

"What happened?" Hinami asked. "You look pale."

"Firstly, I am pale Hinami." Himika sighed. "And I just remembered something."

"It must've been a sad memory." Tsukiyama said.

"Why?" Himika asked.

"Himika, you're crying." Hinami whispered sadly.

Himika brought one of her pale hands up to touch her face and her eyes widened when she felt the trail a tear left when it slid down her face.

"I'm crying?" Himika mumbled.

Hinami patted Himika's back, giving her a side hug. Although Himika tended to show no emotions, Hinami could tell something was up.

A/N

I'm really sorry about the lack of updates. I've been working on drafts for an original story so I've been bit busy. I didn't have much motivation for the story, but I'm finally working on it more. This story is still on hold, but it will be updated from time to time!

Thanks for reading!

P.S I accidentally unpublished the book, but it's all fixed now!
