Leaving

Himika woke up to sunlight shining onto her face through her window, which had no glass at all. She threw off the rag she called a blanket and slowly sat up, rubbing her sore eyes. She leapt out of bed and stretched for a while before changing into her regular black clothes and heading out to find Kaneki.

"Morning Himika!" Naki called as Himika came into view.

"Good morning Naki." She replied, giving him a friendly wave as she walked past him.

Himika wasn't sure what to think about Naki. He was stupid most of the time, but he never got in her way or annoyed her. Himika could easily say she got along with everyone here, other than Ayato, who constantly scowled at her.

"Morning Himika!" Eto greeted cheerfully, skipping down the hall with Noro following silently.

"Good morning Eto, Noro." She replied.

Eto and Noro disapeared around the corner, Himika continued to walk. Eventually she came to a staircase and she began to make the climb up. Himika came to the top of the stairs, and surprisingly, Kaneki was there.

"Good morning Kaneki." She greeted.

"Morning." He replied, still looking deep in thought. "I was just coming to talk to you."

"That's good, I wanted to tell you something important." Himika said.

"What is it?" He asked.

"I'd like to go back to Antieku today." She replied.

"Really?" He asked, looking surprised. "I thought you didn't want to leave."

"I've changed my mind." She said. "Plus I want to go back to school."

"I thought you hated school." Kaneki said.

"I do." She admitted. "But Hinami must miss me."

"Then get ready to go, we're leaving in an hour." He ordered.

"Are you coming too?" Himika asked, giving him a hopeful look.

"No, I have something I must take care of." He replied. "Now go get ready."

Himika replied with a silent nod and headed back down the stairs, towards her temporary room. She found an elastic and put her hair into its usual ponytail and found her mask on her nightstand. She put on a regular medical eyepatch and a medical mask before gathering her night clothes in a fabric shopping bag she found lying around.

She left her room and began heading back up the stairs to find Kaneki. Once at the top of the stairs she saw Ayato coming towards her.

"What are you doing here brat?" Ayato asked.

"Looking for Kaneki." Himika replied.

"He's down the hall." He said. "Now get out of my face."

Himika ignored his usual attitude and headed down the hall. She found Kaneki sitting in the windowcill of a window with no glass.

"Be carefull, you might fall." Himika warned, stepping into the sunlight.

Kaneki ignored her worry.

"Are you ready to leave?" He asked.

"Yes." She replied, holding up the bag.

"Let's head downstairs. I already told everyone else that you were leaving." He said, getting off of the ledge.

Himika noticed that Kaneki was wearing a simple black sweater and jeans, much like what she wears on a regular basis, only she prefers sweatpants. He also wore a simple white medical eyepatch, the same kind that Himika wore, only he wasn't wearing a mask as well. Kaneki lead the way down the stairs, leading them to the exit on the first floor. Everyone waited for them at the entrance, for some reason Naki was bawling.

"Little sister Himika!" Naki cryed. "Don't go!"

Himika was a little taken back by the sudden sibling relationship, but she managed to reply.

"Sorry Naki, but I have to go." Himika said. "But I'm sure I'll see you again sometime."

"Goodbye!" Eto said, skipping over to Himika and giving her a quick hug.

"Good ridens." Ayato scoffed.

"I'll miss you too Ayato." Himika replied, rolling her eyes.

Noro did nothing, and the tall white haired man she learned was named Tatara only gave her a nod, not knowing her all that well.

"I have something I need to take care of, so I will be back later." Kaneki said.

"Goodbye everyone." Himika said, giving everyone one last small bow before heading out the door with Kaneki.

Kaneki lead the way to Antieku, weaving through the crowded streets and ignoring all of the weird looks people gave them.

"Is that Hinami?" Himika asked, pointing at a woman with long green hair and a shorter girl with brown hair.

"I think so." Kaneki said, also glancing at them.

"In going to go talk to them." Himika said, beginning to walk away.

"I have to speak with Touka, so I may not see you." He replied.

"Then I suppose this is goodbye for now." Himika said, stopping to face Kaneki.

"Be safe." He sighed, his face showing his worry.

"You too." Himika replied before starting to make her way over to Hinami and the stranger.

Hinami at first didn't notice Himika walking up to her from behind, but once Himika placed a hand on her shoulder, Hinami spun around like a top.

"Himika!" She gasped, embracing Himika in a tight hug.

"I'm sorry about leaving suddenly Hinami." Himika apologized.

"Everyone at school was wondering why you were gone for like a week!" Hinami exclaimed. "I told them you've been sick, but now we can both go to school!"

Himika just smiled a little as Hinami continued to ramble about school, the green haired woman beside her chuckling softly.

"Is this a friend of yours Hinami?" The woman asked curiously.

"Yes, this is Himika!" Hinami replied, pushing Himika forward slightly.

"Nice to meet you Himika, my name's Sen Takatsuki." The woman introduced.

"Sen Takatsuki?" Himika asked, suddenly excited. "Like the author?"

"That would be me." She replied.

"It's nice to meet you." Himika said, bowing her head a little. "I really like your books."

"It's so nice to meet a fan!" She exclaimed. "Say, would you like to join Hinami and I for some coffee?"

"I'd love to." Himika replied.

"Great! Follow me!" Miss Takatsuki said, beginning to walk away.

Hinami and Himika quickly followed after their favourite author, eager to chat with her. Miss Takatsuki lead them to a small cafe in a quiet part of Tokyo, the cafe was small, but had a cheery aura to it.

"You girls have whatever you like, my treat." Miss Takatsuki said, smiling widely.

"I'll have an Iced coffee please." Hinami said.

"Coffee, black please." Himika decided, that being all she ever really drank.

Miss Takatsuki called over a waitress and placed their order before talking with the two girls. Hinami and Takatsuki however did most of the talking, Himika only adding onto a statement when she wanted to.

The three of them spent the afternoon talking and drinking coffee until it got late, Hinami deciding they should head back to Antieku. They said goodbye to Miss Takatsuki before heading home, Himika dreading every step.

A/N

I am super sorry! How long has it been since I updated?!

I've had a bit of writers block and to be honest, I don't really know where this story is going. However, it would mean a lot to me if you took the time to read my other Naruto story titled 'Renewal'. I have most of that story planned, and I think it's good.

Again, sorry about not updating! I know I've most likely lost some intrest in this story, but I will try and continue it!

P.S: it's almost 3am, why am I still up?!
