Cochlea Pt.2
A/N
The amazing drawing above was done by Nerdy_Lilac! It's Himika in her mask! It looks amazing! I can write but I sure as hell can't draw! Feel free to private message me if you want to make fanart! If you do make any then I will be sure to post it on this story and I will tag you!
Investigator Shinohara faced off with the considerably weakened Ayato. Ayato launched himself into the air again, firing his ukaku crystals at the investigator. Shinohara simply used his quinque to deflect most and the rest bounced off his Arata, armor made from a ghoul.
Shinohara didn't know why, but his Arata wasn't responding to him the way it usually did, making it harder to control in battle, he had no clue why either.
Ayato was clouded by rage, his attacks sloppy and already weak because of his current condition. Why was he angry? Shinohara's Arata was made from his father.
Ayato continued to attack, jumping at the investigator again before getting hit again and being sent flying across the room, straight into a wall. Shinohara walked to the half dead body of Ayato and raised his quinque, ready to finish off the job, but he paused. Ayato raised his fist shakily before punching Shinohara's Arata, his fist stayed put for about a minute before it dropped down at his side. He looked up at the investigator, his eyes blank, accepting fate. The investigator raised his quinque, but before he could strike, Ayato collapsed at his feet.
Shinohara however didn't get a moments rest, because next thing he knew, he was face-to-face with a kakuja.
"This day keeps getting better." He mumbled sarcastically.

Himika faced Amon, kunai out, kagune waving, ready to strike. Akira clutched helplessly to Amon's shoulder, her ankle sending waves of pain up her leg.
"How will you fight with all that deadweight?" Himika asked, spinning her kunai around her finger.
Amon scowled at her, turning to Akira. "I'm going to put you down."
Akira nodded as Amon lowered her to the floor, afterwards gripping his quinque tightly. Amon snapped the handle in half, attaching the second half to the other side of his quinque before separating it into two seperate weapons.
Himika charged first, using her kunai to parry his quinque, then using her rinkaku kagune to try and slash him. At first it proved effective, but she got a little too close, resulting in Akira stabbing her in the arm. It wasn't a deep wound but it still hurt. Himika kept her distance from Akira, using one arm to hold her kunai as the other one healed. The battle went on, Himika noticing how she was getting slower.
'Shit.' She cursed, narrowly avoiding a swing from Amon.
Eat something you idiot.
Shin wasn't exactly helping either, constantly giving her ideas.
'What do I eat? I'm fighting here and I don't think Amon is going to let me take a bite from him or the blonde chick.' Himika retorted.
Look at all the ghoul corpses around us.
'Isn't that cannibalism though?' Himika thought, continuing to dodge Amon's attacks.
Isn't it cannibalism when you eat humans? Think about it, you're half human.
'So that means I've been a canabal all this time?' Himika wondered.
Yes you have, which means eating a ghoul isn't wrong because you've always been a cannibal.
Himika accepted Shin's statement, not having any better ideas. She quickly dashed over to the dead bodies of ghouls that were littered around them, picking a random one and biting into its arm.
"You're a cannibal?!" Amon exclaimed.
Himika didn't reply, she simply went back to eating, finding it disgusting, yet strangely satisfying.
Eat, eat, eat, eat. Eat until you're full Himika!
It probably didn't help that she had one of the youngest binge eaters ever whispering things to her. Himika continued to eat until the entire corpse was gone.
"More! More!" Himika screamed, moving to next body before continuing to eat.
The once calm and collected Himika was slowly losing her sanity, but after all the things she's dealt with, losing her sanity is the least of her concerns. The sickening sound of crunching flesh resounded through the prison as Himika continued to move from corpse to corpse. Amon clenched his teeth angrily and Akira couldn't look.
Do you want to be strong Himika?
"Of course I do..." Himika replied out loud.
"Who is she talking to?" Akira asked.
"Herself?" Amon guessed.
Himika finally stopped her eating, turning to the investigators, grinning sickly under her mask. She took out six kunai, placing one between each of her knuckles, her purple rinkaku tentacles waving behind her.
"My turn." Himika said before charging at Amon.
Himika's kagune sliced through the air as all four tentacles headed for Amon. All of them missed, impaling themselves into the wall beside him, Amon exhaled a sigh of relief. His relief ended however, shortly after her kagune had pierced the wall Himika had said something.
"Branch." She ordered.
Her kagune immediately had branched out, each tentacle having spikes shoot out like branches in all directions. Amon was stabbed by some of the branches, blood began to pool underneath him as his clothes began to absorb some of the blood.
"Amon!" Akira cried out in concern.
"I-I'm fine." He replied shakily.
All of the spiked branches retracted back into her kagune and she reeled it back. While Amon was still recovering she brought her arm back, ready to throw three of the kunai. Amon waited for the kunai to embed themselves in his skin, but nothing happened. He opened his eyes just in time to hear the 'thunk' of kunai as they hit their target. He quickly looked over at Akira, his face twisting in rage.
Himika had thrown the kunai at Akira, and now they were embedded in her leg, stomach and arm. Akira was frozen, in both fear and pain, the only thing that seemed to numb the pain even a little was the adrenaline going to her head.
While Amon was busy, trying to see if Akira was okay, Himika took the opportunity to stab him with a kunai, right through his thigh.
"Never turn your back on the enemy." Himika scolded, smirking as he tensed in pain.
Akira picked up her whip like quinque and curled it back before using it to slash at Himika.
"Nice try~!" Himika sang. "But you're too slow."
Amon couldn't walk with his new injury, but still tried to attack her, using his quinque.
"Look at how you're crawling around." She taunted. "Like insignificant bugs. Shall I squash you now?"
Himika raised her foot over Amon's head, preparing to crush his skull, but before she could, she was thrown against a wall. She sat up before coughing up a wad of blood, looking with blurry eyes at her attacker. It was Mr. Mado.
Himika clicked her tongue in annoyance, noticing the rinkaku quinque he had.
"Sit back you two." Mado said, smiling as usual.
Himika's vision finally cleared, she stood up, facing Mado, thinking of her next plan of attack.
'Water style: raging waves.'
A wave of water made its way towards the three investigators, however it was a lot smaller than it used to be.
'Fire style: fireball jutsu.'
A ball of fire came from her mouth, and as it collided with the water it made steam.
"Fascinating!" Mado exclaimed.
Himika snuck silently through the steam, grabbing another kunai so she had three in her knuckles again. She leapt through the steam, ready to stab Mado, but he quickly dodged and slashed her stomach, making a huge gash appear. Himika slid across the floor until her back hit the wall.
Barely conscious, Himika waited for her death, almost glad it would all be over. Mado slowly made his way over to Himika, preparing to finish her off. He raised his quinque, but before he could finish her off a large figure dropped down from above, scooping her up.
"The Owl?!" Mado exclaimed, suddenly enraged.
However, before Mado could start another fight, The Owl took off, taking Kaneki, Ayato and Himika with it. Himika blinked her heavy eyes as the Owl carried her off.
"W-was I strong?" She whispered.
A/N
Wow. Just wow. That was a lot to write! Anyways, now you kinda get to see why I kept Mado alive and get to know more about our very closed off main character! Himika!
In case you didn't catch on, Himika is very confused and really doesn't know much about the real world, because of that she looks to others for guidance, which is why Shin influencing her isn't good exactly... Remember, until like a year ago she knew absolutely nothing, and now she's forgetting the little things she did know.
I feel bad for Himika and I'm the one writing this. T-T
