Advice
Himika moved her fingers, feeling around her to try and find where she was.
"You awake Himika?" A playful voice asked.
Himika opened her eyes and sat up, taking in her surroundings. She was in a field of white and red camilia's and standing above her was a boy around her age. He had dark green hair and dull green eyes, he wore red glasses, a baggy blue sweater and black sweat pants.
"Who are you?" Himika asked.
The boy sighed. "It's me! Shin!"
"Where are we?" Himika asked.
"Your head," He replied. "Or as I like to call it, the Mindspace."
"Why am I here?" She asked.
"Because I brought you here!" Shin answered.
Himika's face twitched in annoyance. "But why did you bring me here?"
"I wanted to offer you some advice." He answered. "About the argument you and Kaneki had."
"What kind of advice could you possibly give me?" Himika asked. "Your advice is going to get me in trouble."
"That may be true, but I can help you out in the long run." Shin argued.
"How?" Himika asked, her voice sharp.
"Think about it. I've been a ghoul my whole life, I can help you with your kagune." He answered.
"Clearly you weren't a good ghoul, you ended up dead." Himika said.
"Ouch." Shin faked being hurt, a playful smile on his face.
Himika didn't smile back, she simply shook her head and crossed her arms.
"Do you ever smile?" Shin asked, getting closer to Himika.
"No reason to smile." She replied, taking a wary step back.
Shin walked up to Himika so they stood face to face. He gave her a smirk before reaching for her face. He tugged the corners of her lips until her face was in a forced smile.
"Jeez, smiles sure look weird on you." Shin said, dropping his hands.
"Yeah and it's weird to imagine someone like you being a binge eater." Himika retorted.
"Touché." He sighed.
Shin sat down in the field of camilias and laid back. Himika slowly walked over and sat across from Shin.
"What are you going to do Himika?" Shin asked, still gazing up at the white sky. "Stay with your 'brother' or go back to Antieku. Or, you could always go off on your own."
"Are those really my only options?" Himika asked.
Shin sat up suddenly and looked Himika in the eye with a mischievous smile.
"Or, there's option four." He said, his smile never wavering.
"What's option four?" Himika asked.
"Let me take the reins." Shin replied. "I can make decisions for both of us."
A few drops of a dark red substance landed on some white camilias, turning them red.
"No." Himika replied. "Not happening."
"I figured as much." Shin sighed, laying back down.
"Are you still going to teach me about my kagune?" She asked.
"Sure." Shin agreed.
"How will you teach me?" Himika asked. "Last time I checked we were in my head."
"We can still use our kagune here," Shin replied. "When you sleep we will train. What you learn here will be transferred over to you when you wake up."
"So it's like a dream," She guessed. "But when I wake up, I will still remember what happened?"
"Exactly!" Shin agreed, bobbing his head enthusiastically.
"But before we get started, there's something I need from you." Himika said, narrowing her eyes.
"What is it?" Shin asked.
"Tell me exactly what happened at Cochlea." She demanded.
"Sure thing." He agreed. "That was quite fun after all!"
"Your idea of fun is not mine." Himika sighed.
"That's 'cus you're no fun!" Shin retorted sticking out his tongue.
"Well?" She said impatiently. "What happened?"
Shin plucked a petal from a red camilia and placed it in his palm before gently blowing it towards her. The petal brushed her forehead and glowed white before disappearing, sucking Himika into the memory.
Himika couldn't feel her body at all, she could only see the scene that unfolded beneath her.
Himika cringed once she saw herself, feasting upon the cadavers of her fellow ghouls. She almost seemed like she was stuck in a trance, mumbling the word eat, over and over again.
The Himika in the vision stopped her feasting and faced the two investigators.
Himika watched herself battle with Amon, exchanging blows and managing to injure Amon. Before she could finish him off, Mado appeared, using his quinque to fight. Himika watched herself get beaten until another ghoul swooped in and swept her away, also carrying an unconscious Ayato and Kaneki.
The vision ended and Himika opened her eyes, only to see Shin in front of her, his face only inches away from hers, his eyes practically gleaming with joy.
"Wasn't that fun?" Shin asked, his face so close she could feel his breath on her face.
"Again, your idea of fun is very strange." Himika replied, placing a hand on Shin's chest and pushing him away.
"Aw," He whined. "You're no fun!"
"Can we please just start training already?" Himika asked.
"We will," Shin said. "As long as you promise me one thing..."
Shin stared at Himika micheviously, slowly crawling forward until he sat in front of her.
"What?" Himika asked, clearly irritated.
"You will owe me something after this." He replied, his grin widening.
"What could you possibly want?" Himika asked.
"Hmm. Haven't decided yet!" He replied. "Now then, let's get to work!"
Shin stood up quickly and grabbed Himika's arms, pulling her to her feet. Both his eyes changed to a familiar red and black as he stood and faced Himika.
"What to learn first..." Shin mumbled to himself. "Oh I know!"
Shin's kagune slid out of his back, pointed at Himika.
"Bring out your kagune and copy me!" Shin said.
Himika silently nodded and her kagune slid out from her back, looking identical to Shin's.
"Ready or not, here I come!" Shin exclaimed before running at her. "Pay attention!"
Shin extended his hand towards Himika and one of his rinkaku tentacles darted forward. It stopped just in front of Himika and stabbed itself into the ground, scattering camilia petals.
"Branch!" Shin called.
His kagune did what was asked and several sharp spears came from the main tentacle and shot out in all directions. Himika was stabbed in several places, but there was no blood or pain. The spears retracted back into the tentacle as Shin pulled his kagune back and walked slowly towards Himika.
"There's no pain here," Shin explained. "After all, it's only a dream."
"I suppose that makes sense." Himika said, nodding her head.
"Back to work!" Shin said. "This time, you try it!"
The rest of the time Himika was asleep was spent hard-core training, since she didn't feel pain or get fatigued she could continue for hours.
"The sun is rising, time to wake up!" Shin exclaimed.
Himika stood there confused, until she felt a tingling sensation on her fingertips. She brought her hand to her face and noticed she was slowly fading into petals.
"See you later Himika." Shin said, waving goodbye.
"Goodbye for now." She replied.
Her entire body was now nothing but petals, and as the petals scattered, she found herself back in the real world.
