A Deal Is A Deal
A blank endless space was stretched out before him, the only colour coming from a few camilias that had been tainted red.
"Any minute now." He sighed, flopping onto his back. "So bored. Himika never let's me have fun."
His eyes changed to black and red, making his playful smile look all the more menacing.
"How much longer will it be till she breaks?" He asked no one in particular. "She can only handle so much more. I can't hold back these memories for much longer."
He released his purple rinkaku, stabbing one of the four limbs into a white flower.
"Shin?" A voice called off to the side.
"Himika!" He shouted out in glee, hopping up to give her a hug.
Himika quickly side stepped and activated her kagune, aiming it at his side. Shin contorted to the left and narrowly dodged, sticking his tongue out.
"Na na na na na!" He teased. "Can't catch me!"
Himika's eyebrows twitched in an irritated mannor, but she made no verbal reply. Himika jumped back to create some distance, eyes narrowed.
"So, Himika," Shin began, standing up to dust himself off. "Remember how I said you owed me for this training?"
"What about it?" Himika scoffed.
"I've decided what I want in return." Shin said, his playful demeanor gone.
"What is it?" She asked.
"When I want control next, you will let me take over."
All four of her rinkaku tentacles shot out at Shin and stabbed the ground around him.
"My body is my own to control." Himika quickly denied, her hot glare not making Shin uncomfortable in the least.
"You will need my help, Himimka, sooner than you realise." Shin warned, his own kagune shoving Himika's away.
"I can help myself." Himika growled.
One second Shin was there, the next he was gone.
"If you can't stop me, what chance will you have against others?" Shin asked, his voice just a whisper in her ear.
Himika's kagune shot behind her, but they were never met with the satisfying squealch of flesh, or the scent of fresh blood. They met nothing, and simply sailed behind her to where Shin once stood.
"Stay still dammit!" Himika hissed, her eyes ablaze in anger. "I wish everyone would stop treating me like such a kid!"
"See, Himika. This is why you need my help." Shin said, back in his original spot. "Kaneki see's you as someone weak, someone he has to protect. Why else would he send you away?"
Himika grit her teeth. She knew Kaneki meant well, but he was really just insulting her.
"Even Hinami see's you as a weak person." Shin laughed, amusement dancing in his black and red eyes. "She knows you are strong physically, but she thinks you are scared and weak mentally. She thinks she needs to protect you. She see's herself as your better and older sister."
"I am not weak!" She roared, fueling her rage into her voice.
"I know that." Shin said. "But the other's don't. A war is coming, you know this as well as I do. Everyone at Antieku thinks you're the one who needs protecting, when it should be you protecting them."
"Of course it should be me!" Himika bellowed. "They have no idea what I've been through! I bet I'm stronger than Hinami! I'm stronger than Touka too! Kaneki should've never told me to go back! Stupid Kaneki! Care about yourself for once and quit pushing me away!"
Himika slumped to her knees, tears streaming down her face as she said absolutely nothing. Shin was in front of her in a flash, resting his chin on her shoulder and giving her a hug.
"Prove to them how strong you are Himika." Shin whispered in her ear.
"I... I am... Strong." She mumbled.
"And I will make you stronger."
Shin smiled, but it wasn't one that promised comfort, it was one that thrived in the chaos that was to come.
'A deal is a deal, Himika.' Shin smirked. 'I will make you the strongest.'
~The next morning~
Himika had been up for hours. Her talk with Shin had left her with mixed feeling of confusion, joy, determination, and for some odd reason, understanding. She had jolted awake at some time after 3:00am and hasn't bothered with trying to fall asleep again. Her stomach was rumbling, not enough to make her go crazy, but enough so that it was noticeable that she was hungry.
'Dammit, I ate not even a week and a half ago.' Himika cursed herself.
Deciding she needed to keep busy, she occupied her time by doing push-ups and sit-ups, also putting in some jumping jacks and high knee kicks. Around 5:30am there was a soft knock on the door, a knock so quiet, she wouldn't have noticed if she didn't have her enhanced senses, such as being able to tell by scent that it was Hinami at her door.
"Get in here." Himika whispered, opening her door just wide enough for Hinami to slip in.
Himika sat on her bed and patted the space next to her, which Hinami quickly took.
"What do you need this early?" Himika asked.
"I'd like to go to Tsukiyama's place to train again, but earlier this time." She replied.
Himika quickly took notice of her appearence, consisting of dark clothes and athletic wear.
"Give me five minutes and I'll be ready to go." Himika said.
"Alright, I'll be down stairs." Hinami replied, vacating her seat on my bed and leaving the room.
As promised, Himika was ready to go in five minutes, ignoring the dull hunger that ate at her stomach. Hinami again lead the way, leaving Antieku as quietly as possible. Himika could relate to Hinami in a way, she too wanted to get stronger, but the others at Antieku were holding her back.
The sun had yet to rise, making this a much better time to travel. Few cars were on the road, and Himika hadn't spotted a single person walking. Himika kept an eye out for doves, but relaxed after about ten minutes of not spotting one. Eventually, the Tsukiyama family estate came into view, and the two girls stood in front of the gates again.
"It's me, Hinami, with my sister, Himika." Hinami said into the speaker.
Himika felt a pinch in her forehead, but she for the most part ignored it. They were, in a way, sisters. They shared the same last name and at school were considered sisters. Speaking of school, Himika was still working on the heaps of catch up work she had to do.
The speaker buzzed and a static voice replied, "Come in."
The gates creaked, and swung inwards, allowing the two girls to approach the front of the house. Hinami knocked thrice and a maid opened the door.
"So nice to see you again Hinami, and I'm guessing that this would be Himika?" The maid said.
Himika just nodded. Coversation never was her thing, she was more the, beat-them-up-and-ask-questions-later type of person.
"Master Shuu, is in his room, I will fetch him for you and be right back." She said, pointing to some couches in the corner. "Please take a seat and wait."
Hinami and Himika made their way to the plush white couches and sat down. Hinami folded her hands in her lap politely and Himika tapped her foot impatiently. Around ten minutes later, the maid finally reappeared, Tsukiyama not far behind her, dressed in an expensive looking red suit with a white button-up shirt, and purple tie.
"Mes chers!" Tsukiyama exclaimed.
"Hi Tsukiyama!" Hinami greeted, standing up.
Himika stayed seated and just gave him a half hearted wave.
"Let's head outside." Tsukiyama said. "Come on girls!"
Himika got off the couch and followed after them, into their huge courtyard.
"Now then," Tsukiyama coughed, throwing off his suit jacket dramatically. "Let's begin!"
~Time Skip~
"I'm tired, how about the two of you spar?" Tsukiyama suggested, afterwards chugging a water bottle.
"Alright, that cool with you Himika?" Hinami asked, Himika shrugged, standing up.
Hinami and Himika stood on opposite sides of the courtyard. Himika activated her kagune first, adjusting her stance. Hinami followed her example and released her kagune, which was unique to say the least. Hinami's kagune was a koukaku and a rinkaku, her koukaku was a cream colour that looked like butterfly wings with red eyes. She had two long tentacle like rinkaku, looking a lot like a centipedes body, with red eyes on every ligament.
"Ready?" Tsukiyama asked.
"Yes." Both Himika and Hinami nodded.
"Begin!"
Hinami looked hesitant to attack, so Himika took the chance and lunged, rearing back a fist. Hinami blocked with her koukaku and span around with a roundhouse kick. Two of Himika's rinkaku blocked the kick and the other two pushed her back, creating more distance. Hinami came at Himika again, this time coming at her with a punch. Himika dodged to the right and kicked Hinami lightly in the side, sending her stumbling back by about two feet.
Himika felt as though she was slipping, but she was confused as to why. A massive wave of pain hit her, allowing Hinami's next punch to hit her square in the temple. Her stomach growled again, and the slipping feeling ensued.
A deal is a deal.
Himika finally felt herself slip, the last thing she remembered was Shin's shit eating grin and the sound of Hinami screaming.
A/N
Whoops! Kinda a cliff hanger, but things are getting good! I feel like Shin is being left out, so I'm trying to include him more. Also, this chapter is a little longer than uaual, hopefully that makes up for the really slow updates.
Thanks for reading!
