*Thomas* 

We walked back to our current room and closed the door. I sat down on the bed. 

My heart was beating quickly. I was afraid to know what Alex did. Why he held such a grudge on him. 

"Alex. What did you do?" I barely whisper out. 

He sighs heavily and sniffles. 

"Thomas you don't want to know. If you knew, I would lose you-" 
"Tell me, Alex." I glare up at him. 

His breath catches and he stares at me wide-eyed. 

He turns away from me and places his hands on his neck. 

"Thomas, you have to understand, I was young and new here and I needed money. I had to do whatever I could to get money. I was scared and alone and no one was there to tell me it was wrong." 

During his speech, he had turned towards me and was shaking his hands. 

"Alex. Get to the point." 

It as like his whole body went limp. Like he had finally given. He walked to the closest wall and slide down it. Siting with his knees curled to his chest and his arms resting on top of his knees. 

"I, I was part of...of a business I guess. A-and in that business we, s-sold some stuff." 

I get up and sit down in front of him. 

"go on." 
"We, we sold all types of things and I didnt think it was wrong because I was young!" 
"Alex!" 

"Right, well we um sold, we sold young girls Tom. We sold women and drugs. Like, really illegal drugs Thomas." 

I don't know what to say, The person whom I love most did such a horrible thing. Words can describe how horrible what he did was. 

"T-that's why I didnt want to tell you! The look on your face right now! That look of disappointment and regret and almost fear! Tom, I didnt know! I didnt know it was bad!" 

I snapped. Tears filled my eyes. I wasn't sure if I could be around him anymore. 

"How could you not know!? How did seeling people not seem wrong to you!?" 
"I was 10 Tom! I was desperate and alone! My cousin had just killed himself! I was on the streets and I needed something to survive!" 

"That, that is not what you are supposed to do though. You work for some nice grocery shopkeeper and seel fruits! You don't sell PEOPLE!" 

He shakes his eyes as tears fall. 

"You weren't there Tom. You didnt see where I lived. I was on my own. No one was going to be there for me. No one!" 
"Alex, I cant. I don't know how to be around you anymore." I said quietly tears flowing steadily 

Alex quickly moves to me. 

"No. Thomas, no. No, it's still me. " He begs. 

"Alex," I whisper, shaking my head lightly. 

"Thomas, please. I hate being this week. But please. I'm begging you. Please. I'm still me and what I did was in the past. It was a long time ago." 

"Alex is was 8 years ago!" 
"Thomas please don't go." 

"Alex, its just.." His hands reach for mine and he looks me in the eyes. 

Oh, his eyes. Could make me fall in love with him over and over again. 

"Thomas.." He breathes out and places his head against mine 

"please." Tears still fall from both of our eyes. 

We sit in silence for what feels like hours. 

He leans in close and gently places his lips on mine. His hand finds its way to my neck pulling me deeper into the kiss. 

Our lips move in sync. 

A million words were spoken in just a few moments. 

It was sweet and gentle and full of love. 

He pulled away and rests a hand on my cheek. 

"Thomas I love you more than anything. Please?"

I look into his eyes and see how desperate he looks and the pain showing through. ALmost ready for the rejection. 

I nod. 

He immediately starts smiling a tired smile. Too much has happened for 12 am. 

"I love you so much, Thomas." 
"I love you too Lexi." He pulls me into a hug. 

We stay like this for as long as we could. 

Pushed against a wall holding onto each other. He was my only safe place in this world. I didnt want to let go of him and have to face the reality of what was happening. We were both in danger and we could do nothing. 

He didnt say anything that we could do to stop this hell. 

"Alex, did we ever finish reading that note?"
"No." 

"We should." 
"I don't want to Tom." 
"Neither do I." 

He sighs and to my despair, breaks from our embrace. 


"Come on. We should go." 

I nod. 

"Wait, Alex?" 
"Yeah?" He looks at me tiredly. 

"What did, that business have to do with him holding on grudge on you?" 
"We sold drugs to his dad. And women... and I guess that messed his family up." 

"Alex." 

He grips my hands. 
"No, no. He came to that business and he knew what the outcome would be if anyone found out. I wasn't in charge of the yes or no decisions. I was just there to carry out orders and keep track of...of stocks and prices and profit." 

I just simply nod and we join the others back in the room.


"What'd we miss?" I ask. 


"Not much. We didnt finish the note cause yall left." John shrugs. 

"Well, let's finish it," Alex speaks. 



"okay." 

John starts reading the last of the note and we all listen intently looking for a way to end all of this. 

"Ya know, this could have been easier if you just decided to not move dorms. Just..." 

John paused and I snatched the paper from him. 

"Alex?" Eliza asked from across the room. I shook my head. 

I walked to the nearest sink and soaked the papers, crumbling them in a wet ball and chucking them in the trash. 

"Alex?!" 
"I'm fine. It's fine. Just, didnt want to listen to that crap anymore." I smile lightly at Thomas. 

"How about we go to bed for now huh?" I ask. 

Everyone nods and we split off to our separate rooms. 

When Thomas and I get back to our room, we cuddle up closely together on the bed. 

"Hey, Thomas?" 
"Mh?" 
"Merry Christmas." 

He laughs. 

"Merry Christmas ya dork." 

"I love you." 
"I love you too."
