Faded Ink: Chapter 5

As Error faced the formidable defenses of the Doodle Sphere, his usual glitchy portals proved ineffective against the intensified barriers. Frustration mounting, he attempted to walk towards the sphere, only to find his progress thwarted with each step.

"Shit, is this some type of infinite barrier or something...?" he muttered, grappling with the seemingly insurmountable obstacle. Undeterred, he tried to utilize his powers to melt through the barrier. A radiant heat emitted from his finger, but it proved futile against the heightened defenses.

Realizing he lacked the necessary power, Error examined his LV - a measure of his destructive prowess acquired from annihilating Alternate Universes. Determined, he decided to tap into this power source. Watching as his LV decreased, an abnormally astronomical number, he used it to boost his abilities.

However, as he pushed his LV to its limits, Error began to experience the consequences. The more he used, the more he found himself "Overheated," grappling with the repercussions of his own relentless pursuit of power.

As Error endured the searing consequences of boosting his power, he laid down. Each surge of power intensified the heat, rendering even a simple act like eating a chocolate bar impossible without it melting.

Grumbling, he endured the discomfort, focusing on the gradual decrease of his LV. The intricacies of his power remained a mystery to him, but one thing was clear-more LV translated to exponentially increasing heat, pushing his body to the limits.

Error's patience was tested as he waited, the radiant energy around him growing more intense with each passing moment. The sacrifice of comfort was a small price to pay for the potential to breach the formidable defenses of the Doodle Sphere.

Error, having taken a brief respite, woke up and halted the decreasing LV without a second glance. Stretching his bones, he gathered his strength and reeled back his fist. With a powerful punch, he effortlessly melted through the Doodle Sphere's barrier, shattering a portion of it.

Peering inside, he beheld countless papers representing Alternate Universes floating weightlessly, suspended in a state of 0 gravity. A maniacal laughter escaped him as he jumped down, using his strings to slash and burn through the AUs with reckless abandon.

"THIS IS THE BEST TIME OF MY LIFE!" he exclaimed, reveling in the chaos he unleashed upon the multiverse.

Core and Dream navigated Nightmare's ominous domain, a brooding place cloaked in black and dark themes. This realm played to Nightmare's strengths, making Dream's presence a precarious situation. Dream, susceptible to negativity, wore a golden crown atop his head, his outfit is a black stocking-like pants and a withered light yellow coat with cyan tips. The golden belt with the "DS" initials and accompanying bells were there, as did his boots and cape.

Dream, uneasy in this hostile environment, erected a positive barrier for protection.

"Why are we here, Frisk?" he questioned, seeking clarity.

"I'll tell you when we get Nightmare!" Core replied, determination evident as they ran alongside Dream, their physical manifestations synchronized.

"Are you sure about this?" Dream inquired, concern etching his features.

"Yeah!" Core affirmed, resolute in their pursuit of Nightmare.

Core and Dream deftly evaded the tentacle assaults, Nightmare's dark and low voice taunting them in the shadows. The entity emerged, a figure composed of dark tar and goop, attempting to land a punch on Dream. Swiftly dodging, Dream retaliated with light arrows, only to witness them shatter upon reaching Nightmare's form.

As the confrontation intensified, Core pleaded for Nightmare's attention.

"Nightmare, stop, we need to tell you something," Core interjected.

"Shut up, gray orphan, I don't need kids telling me what to do," Nightmare retorted dismissively.

"It's involving Error," Core continued, prompting Nightmare to pause.

"What do you want? If you don't give me a reasonable answer, I will personally melt your bodies in acid," threatened Nightmare.

"Error breached the Doodle Sphere. He's destroying AUs," Core explained.

Their conversation was disrupted by another tentacle assault, avoiding the destructive swipe as they spoke.

"Yeah, like I'll buy that crap. Ink has only one job, and that'll make him more of an idiot if he can't do his only one," Nightmare scoffed, teleporting to deliver a powerful kick that generated a shockwave.

"Nightmare, Ink's in a strange situation. Remember, I'm omnipresent, and I have no reason to lie," Core implored.

Nightmare, using his ability to sense negative feelings, discovered the surprising lack of negativity from Error and the presence of real emotions in Ink.

"Why the heck is that squid feeling real emotions?" Nightmare questioned.

"Doodle Sphere gave him something, but I didn't understand most of it. Just help us against Error until Ink arrives. Please," Core urged.

Nightmare, threateningly close to Dream, warned, "Listen up here, you little shit. When Ink arrives to stop Error, I'll deal with you." With that, he teleported away in goop, and Core followed suit, teleporting Dream away from the imminent danger.

The scene before Core and Dream was one of devastation, the Multiverse torn and burned by Error's chaotic rampage. The villain reveled in the destruction, his maniacal laughter echoing through the remnants of once-vibrant realities.

"AHEHHHAHEEHH! THIS IS SO MUCH FUN!" Error exclaimed.

In a burst of speed, Nightmare materialized as a gigantic tar monster with a white spiked smile. He lunged at Error, attempting to devour him, but Error swiftly evaded and retaliated with a punch to Nightmare's face.

"Of course, you black anomaly had to be here," Error muttered irritably; then he spotted Core and Dream.

Before he could finish his sentence, Nightmare seized Error with a tentacle, hurling him toward Dream.

"Little shit, catch him!" Nightmare ordered.

Dream used his staff as a bat, slamming it into Error mid-air. However, Error swiftly recomposed himself, using his strings to latch onto the Doodle Sphere's ceiling, looking down at his adversaries.

"You think you can stop me now?! Look here!" Error unleashed a gaster blaster towards them, forcing Core and Dream to dodge as the space they previously occupied melted into near destruction.

"Just one shot from me, and you'll be Amalgamates, ahahah!" Error taunted, his threat echoing through the tumultuous battlefield.

As the chaotic battle unfolded, Nightmare's primary concern remained halting Error's destruction of his source of negativity. Dream swiftly erected a barrier around the remaining AUs, shielding them from further harm.

"Nightmare, we need to end this before it's too late!" Dream shouted, desperation evident in his voice.

"Don't need to tell me twice you stupid kid!"

In response, Core reached into their arsenal, summoning a PokeBall with a swift motion. With a burst of energy, a gigantic monster was summoned. Giratina materialized on the battlefield, its ominous presence adding another layer of complexity to the clash.

"Time to use every trick we have!" Core declared.

Nightmare, still in his tar monster form, lunged at Error with renewed vigor, attempting to restrain him with tentacles. Dream focused on maintaining the barrier, deflecting Error's attacks and protecting the fragile AUs, while shooting light arrows.

Core, now commanding Giratina, unleashed its otherworldly powers.

"Giratina, Draco Meteor!"

Giratina roared, as meteors rushed down towards Error, who dodged them.

Error then used his strings to grab onto a meteor, and slammed into Nightmare, who was hurled back.

"Ahahaa! You thought-" his head was hit by a light arrow.

That small moment was enough for Dream to slash at Error, who madly swung his fist, trying to melt him.
Dream dodged the attack, and transformerd his daggers in a greatsword, and slammed Error.
Error melted quickly the weapon made out of light.

"You can't get me-" he was again interrupted by a tentacle grabbing him, slamming him around. The tentacle then hurled him towards Giratina, who opened it's mouth and shot a ray of anti-matter.

Error survived with minimal scratches.

"Dream!" Nightmare exclaimed. Dream turned towards him. "Turn off your positivity for a second, I need to try something!" Dream knew Nightmare isn't a person to be trusted, but knowing that now they are both allies, nodded. As he did that, Nightmare's negativity shoot up.

He held his tentacles upwards, and concentrated the negativity. It was a small ball, but then, swirling, it grew and grew, making things orbit around it.

Giratina stood up in front of Dream and Core, as now the black hole was threatening to suck everything.

"See if you can dodge this!" Nightmare shouted, as the black hole was hurled towards Error.

Nightmare and Error swirled around the black hole, while fighting.
Nightmare delivered a punch, which was counterattacked by Error, who used his strings to try to put Nightmare inside the black hole.
Nightmare dodged the attack, and used another shot of negativity to crate another black hole. Now it was a chaotic mess. Dream got also in the fight, making also his cosmic ball. But this one is made out of positivity, and instead of sucking things in, it made them repel.
So, right now, Error found himself between two black holes and a white hole, pushing him and crushing his bones.

"Argh!" His eyes were full of Error messages, as he started feeling the pain.

"Oh, you're starting to feel pain?! GOOD!" Nightmare smiled.
Error then strated using his LV again to overheat. The heat started slowly melt the dimensional ripping holes.

"What?! Why the heck could he melt those things?!" Nightmare in disbelief said.

"Doesn't matter!" Dream said, and punched Error. Error angrily used multiple gaster blasters around, trying to find a target.
He looked confused as the dust settled, he found no one.
"Huh?" He looked around, and was chomped down by Giratina.

Giratina then threw Error up, as it's stomach started burning.

"What... There is a whole ass dimension inside that worm.." Error said as he was confused.

Then his heat started to become greater.

Nightmare and Dream couldn't touch him anymore.

"Nightmare what do we do?!" Exclaimed Dream.

"Wait." Core said.

Then, Error was punched away.
