CH I 9

I’ve always though I was a calm person by nature. But he had me all twisted up inside, and I didn’t like it not one bit. Letting my head drop, it wasn’t because I didn’t want to stair him down. It was more because I was feeling the overwhelming urge to punch his smug sexy looking face.
Turning around, fists clenched. Stepping away his hand grabbed mine. Snapping it out of his grasp, spinning on my boots.

“DON’T YOU DARE TOUCH ME.” Barring my teeth at his face. I didn’t wait, power walking away from him and back to the house. Slamming the back door open, passing a few males. Destiny was sitting on the couch with Drake when I passed them.
“Fade?” Quickly jumping up and coming to me.

“I hate him” Seething mad. Her face gasped, as she calmed and nodded. Taking my hand and pulling me into her room. Drake didn’t even fight her, as she told him she would see him later.
“You can stay in my room, till you cool off” Closing the door quietly.
“He’s a moron.” Pacing back and forth. She didn’t disagree, just let me rant on.
“Who does he think he is?”  not really expecting an answer. Biting my fingernails, I was about to scream when the door flew open. Blocking from frame to frame, Thorin glared at me. Destiny was about to stop him, when he pushed through her.

“YOU!” Pointing at me. Flinging my body over his shoulder, only to storm out of the room. Punching his back, I kicked around. It did nothing, except tire me out.
“Put me down your big bully” Opening his door, he slammed it closed using his foot. Dropping me a little harder then he should of on the bed.

“What’s your pro…” He roared in my face.
“STOP TALKING!” Pushing away from him. Displaying just how mad he really was. Shaking his eyes were pitch black, glaring at me with rage. He stood at the edge of the bed, as I sat with my arms holding me up. It felt like forever, not moving a muscle. The words he spoke were dark and full of anger.

“You will learn to respect me, even if I have to beat it into you” Pointing a deadly finger at me. Shaking my head, as if the words he just spoke were made up by my own brain. Grabbing me he pulled my weaker body over to a draw. Almost ripping it out of the dresser, he slipped a leather neck strap around my neck. The heavy chain hanging off it, making my neck feel like it would give at any second. Trying to fight him, as he clipped the last hook. Sharply tugging on the chain.
“Not so smart mouthed now…are we” Grinning in my face. My throat tightened and sadly its wasn’t because of the collar. Letting my mouth get the better of me, I couldn’t stop the poison that spilled out.

“Go fuck yourself” Pulling back. It was a shock when he snapped the chain and it spun my body onto the bed. Caging me in, he kept roaring in my face. At least on the bed, it was soft.
“Disrespectful woman, I should..” I snapped at him.
“WHAT KILL ME, GO FOR IT!” Glaring daggers at his skull. Shock flashed before he tamed it.
“You’ll obey me, or dye by your own stubbornness” His smug look at thinking he had me, was short lived.

“Don’t hold your breath” Scoffing at him. Being a military brat, taught me one thing. Never show fear, never give your enemy the upper hand. Cause they’ll use it for all its worth. I decided right then and there, I was going to ignore him completely. Turning my eyes away, I looked at the lamp shade as if it was so much more stunning then him. The chain shook, ignoring it he growled. He was catching on, knowing I was paying him no more attention.

“Look at me?” Pushing harder on the bed. No answer, and no movement came from me. Grabbing my face, he pulled it to him. Closing my eyes, he screamed out. Frustrated with my decision, to still disobey him. Jumping off my body, I heard a clipping sound before the bedroom door slammed shut. Sitting up my eyes opened to see he had hooked the chain to the bed post. Sighing I tugged at the collar. Stupid werewolf. Getting up, I checked to see how far I would be able to get. I could use the bathroom, but the door had to stay open. I didn’t like that, one bit. The small desk in the corner, was completely out of reach. It was probably where the key was.
The door opened and Destiny walked in, her eyes following the chain then back to me. Closing the door.

“He’s gone to far” Whispering the words. Sitting back on the bed, I gripped the low foot board.
“You think” laughing in an annoyed voice. Sitting next to me, she never looked away.
“I’m going to help you” Whispering.
    “How?” looking up.
“We need to come up with a plan, to get you out of here. My brother is never going to admit he wants you. And I have grown to attached to your free spirit to let him rune you” Giving me the best smile she could, considering the circumstances.
“Don’t get in trouble because of me”

“HA, trouble is my middle name. Besides don’t you worry your pretty little head about me. I can handle him just fine.” Puffing up her chest. Chuckling, I really did like her.
“So what now?” remembering I was still attached to the bed post.
“Well maybe we should just talk.”
“What did you have in mind?”
“Maybe a little insight into why Thorin is Thorin would be a good start?” Asking me.
“Sure why not, isn’t like I’m going anywhere” Picking up the chain.

The silence was deep and I felt my tummy tug a little.
“I wont go to far back, but I’ll give you an idea.” Taking a deep breath. “When Thorin and I were kids, our parents were deep in the governmental world. Our father was a high ranking official on the board, while our mother was a caretaker. She also sat on the committee board. We were having a hard time with so much land being taken for skyscrapers and other toxic places. My father was against one of the largest companies trying to push the waste plant.
It was a horrible idea to build such a building so close to schools and family homes.” She let me take in everything, before continuing.

“Father was cast a side, because the president had been paid off. Along with a few other important votes. Father was murdered when he tried to stop, the construction workers from building. Our mother had shifted to seek revenge, for her mate. Thorin and I were in our teens when they killed both our parents. The Alpha title was passed to Thorin, and at the age of 16 he was forced to lead an entire pack. We didn’t out number the humans, but were are worth six of them. The tanks and weapons took a lot of us out, but Thorin was set on bringing the world to an end. He was heart broken and scared.

He hadn’t been taught a hole lot on how to run a pack. Father was just starting to teach him. War tactics was something that wasn’t covered. The more wolves that passed on, the more Thorin became bitter. It was about half way threw a battle when one of our males, caught a scent of a female dressed in camo. She was his mate, and Thorin watched as the male became weak in the knees at the sight of her. He watched as his wolf brother protected her with his life, thinking it threw it had been a good plan.” She rubbed her eyes.

“Thorin had ordered all females, be captured and brought here. Mates were paired off, and the males began feeling an overwhelming protection, that they fought harder for him. He had promised them, that if he could find their mate he would. In return they agreed to fight to the very end for him. No questions asked.” She paused as I thought over it all.
“So why does he act like this with me?” A little confused. Her face did a turn and a long breath exited.

“You know something, don’t you?” Leaning a little closer to her.
“Yes, Thorin had a girlfriend in high school. She was one of very few werewolves. Stunning as she was, she was not his mate. He felt the need to mark her, even though she wasn’t rightfully his. Father warned him not to mark her, that her real mate would fight him. He did the right thing and didn’t mark her, however kept seeing her up until her mate showed up.”
    “And?” pressing her on.

“He was furious, it had been a military man. A human. He didn’t want her, and shot her between the eyes. It killed Thorin, and he tore the man’s flesh from his body. But that didn’t even seem to calm the rage building inside himself. He pledged to never mate with a human.” Soft eyes looked into mine.

Turning away from her, I kept the chocking air in. That explains it, not even a wolf wanted me the way I was. Father had told me that wolves have a very tight bond with their mates. And very rarely do they reject their soul mate. Something about getting you better half, the wolves took this very seriously. I remember this because it was the first compliment he had given the wolves. Saying.

“If more humans loved their spouses the way wolves loved their mates, we would never have to worry about broken hearts.” Huffing her chuckled going on.
“They might have hard tempers, but they bend over backwards for their mates. Loving them is something that is like breathing. They just can’t live without it, or their mate” Smiling at the end.

Here I was sitting in my mates bedroom, with his sister. As I find out mine doesn’t want me. He’s only really keeping me here, because he doesn’t know what else to do with me. Fighting the tears, I reminded myself I hadn’t cried for the death of my parents. And that crying over being unwanted by a stranger who was born to want me no matter what, was foolish.
    “Destiny” Controlling the squeak.
    “Yes?”

“I need to leave, help me leave”
    “Where will you go?”
“Far away.” Bringing her into view.
“We need a plan, I can’t just release you. He’ll hunt for you.”
“I can handle that. Isn’t there a way only you can find me?” Her eyes widened, meaning there was.

    “Tell me”
“Its dangerous, and likely to fail.” Turning away.
‘I don’t care, its better then being chained to a bed.” Grabbing the chain and shaking it.
“I would have to change you. I would be able to locate you for a few weeks. Then you would be on your own. But the change is difficult, and you will need food and water. You wont be able to fend for yourself, let along hunt.”
“I don’t care, I’ll be fine. Just do it.”  Glaring at her. I don’t know why I wanted to be a wolf so bad, maybe part of me didn’t want to be alone anymore. Or perhaps I wanted to change and be the one who walks away from him.
“It will take me a week, we need to gather supplies. I’ll scout around for a place to stash you and food.”

    “Fine” Agreeing for now.
“You just have to bare it for a little while.” Rubbing my shoulder.
“Fine, but I’m not going to be nice to him.” Frowning.
“No one said you had to.” Chuckling.  Getting up she left me alone.

~Thorin’s POV~

Dropping my dead weight into my leather desk chair, I glared out the window. She had pushed me to far, now she’s chained to my bed. Thinking I had finally stopped that mouth of hers, she had spat out.

“Go Fuck yourself” It was beyond disrespectful, and yet I felt a proud feeling deep down. She hadn’t shown fear, not even a drop. I could of marked her instead of putting the collar on, but I don’t want to mark her. Taking a human for my mate, was something I had sworn never to do. For now she’ll stay chained to me, maybe down the road she’ll be allowed off. Maybe. Wolf needs her with us, if this shuts him up then chained she shall be.

My office door opens and a very angry sister walks in. Slamming the door she’s streaming. Stalking over to me, her hands hit the desk.
“Your stupid then I thought” She spats.
“Watch your mouth Destiny, I am still Alpha”
“You don’t deserve that title.” My body spins the chair around, grabbing her by the neck.
“WATCH HOW YOU SPEAK TO ME SISTER!” Turning my eyes black.
“OR what you’ll chain me up to?” My hand releases. Turning away, I could never chain Destiny. She’s the only person who understands me.

“What have you done? I told you to be gentle with her, and you go and do the complete opposite.” Sighing, I can hear the heart break in her words. She likes Fade, maybe more then I am comfortable with.
    “She has been disrespectful”
    “So what? She’s your mate.”

“SHE IS NOT A MATE, SHE IS A HUMAN” Growling.
“SHE’S STILL A MATE” Growling back.
“I don’t need to explain myself to you.” Changing the topic.
“No, you don’t. You have to explain it to her. All because you didn’t want another male being with her. How childish, you are. You think she’s going to run away with another man, like Lindsey. Except Lindsey didn’t run away from you, she went to her mate.”

“AND DIED BECAUSE OF IT” Roaring back, how dare she bring up Lindsey.
“Yes she died, it’s a horrible thing to happen. But you are no better then that stupid human male, if this is the way you are going to treat your mate.” She paused looking at me with intense eyes.
“I don’t need this right now. I have work to do” Trying to focus on paperwork, that has piled up thanks to my mate making her presents known.

“What happened to you Thorin? You have one of the best mates I have ever seen, come from the human gene. And you choose to chain her up, like a dog. You don’t deserve her. She’s unique, special even. Her outlook on the war, is the brighter side of things. For you to find a mate that is already excepting of your wolf, is rare. Where others have to work to get their mates trust, you are just given it. But you toss it back, as if she is nothing more then a piece of trash. I pity you.” Turning around, she opens the door. Standing quietly she turns her watering eyes to me.
“Cassy was looking for you, I hope for your sake Fade never finds out that your bedding that white trash.” Closing the door. Sighing I drop the pen, pushing it away from me. I’m never going to get any work done.
