CH I 11

What will my parents say? HA this is just to fitting of a death. My back bounced off the wet black mud. The once beautiful colors on my face, running into the dirt. Fingernails grabbing at any and everything. Gasping for air, and life my body felt like it was flopping around like a fish. I knew going into the water was a bad idea, I wouldn’t be able to swim like this. Drowning would be inevitable. Reaching out my fingers slipped threw part of the fall. Its cool texture, taking some of the fire out of my body. Flipping over, crawling my way to the savor I knew was just a few inches away.

When my head hit, I sighed drinking a little. Pushing the water into my stomach, stopping the fire from within. Screaming might of helped, however with Thorin having all his men out it was best to stay silent. A few times I had sworn I saw shadows fly past the watery screen. Perhaps they didn’t know about this place. Feeling the urge to just sleep, I curled into a ball. Finding that one place the water bounced off a rock and made a small pool of cooling wonderfulness.
The dark ate everything, howls all around. Walking in the darkest part of my dreams, I faced nothing. Whispers talked amongst themselves, ignoring my very presents. My fathers voice ringing in my ears, soon followed by my mother.

“What have you done?” My mothers shill voice, screaming at me.
“I died so you could become like them?” My father giving me that hated voice.
“What will become of you?” Mothers cries. Grabbing my head, spinning in a circle I let out a scream.

“SHUTT UPPPP” Taking in gulps of air.
“You are a disappointment, no daughter of mine would do such a thing” My fathers face being stern and hard.
“Why would you break my heart like this, to be one of them” She added venom to the word “Them”
“Stop it….just stop” Clapping my hands over my ears. Shaking my head as they kept judging me. Telling me what a fool I was, blaming me for everything that ever went wrong.

“I DIDN’T DO ANYTHING WRONG.” Shouting it at the darkness. The voices slowly going away, a light started to grow bigger. Heading my way was a stunning woman, her white sun dress blowing where there wasn’t any wind. Her long white hair looked more like silver strands. Lips a light pink, maybe a baby rose color. Eyes as clear as the deepest ocean. Her smile made the pain and heartache go away.
“Its been a long time, since a human has entered my world.” Music seemed to flow out of her words.

“Your world?” Taking a step to her.
“Yes, you are in the world of the wolf. I am the queen, you are very, luck Fade. Not many make it to this part of the test.”
“Test?” She was speaking in circles and I was getting dizzy from thinking.
“Becoming a wolf isn’t something I just grant anyone. You have proven you can handle the judgment in which you shall face. You have endured pain, in which no other will ever feel. In doing so I am hear to grant you a wolf.” Holding up her hand. Another light trickled towards us. As it got closer it was just a ball of light.

“This is your wolf, respect her. Love her, and above all protect her.” Waving her hand the light floated to me. Reaching out, the ball of light seemed to hold a playful manor. Floating around me, checking me out even. Smiling I turned around watching as it danced to music I couldn’t hear. Sticking out my other hand it slowly came to sit in the cupped hands I held out.
“So pretty” Whispering to the light. It moved a little bit.

“She likes you” The woman said, smiling. Looking back at the light, I smiled.
“And I her” Hugging the light carefully to my chest. Slowly a warm feeling took over my body, as the light pushed threw my chest. Dropping my hands, watching as it slowly invaded me. Powerful flashes passed threw my eyes, visions of things I had seen or heard. Confused the woman spoke once more.

“She is looking threw your memories.” The flash of Thorin came in crystal clear. She held that image the longest. Gasping my head flung behind me, a female voice talking quickly to me.
“Slow down” Shaking my head. She chirped and giggled at my comment.

~Sorry, I’m just so excited to meet you~
~I’m glad.~

My eyes slowly open, the sounds clearer and more pronounced. It was like I was deft before. My eyes picked up on small detail, pushing off the ground. A few piles of food where in a dry spot. Eating my full, I sat on the rock. Looking around the dark cave, the water playing very little in calming my mood. My hand was cut, and I can’t seem to remember how. The white cloth that some food was brought in, serviced in making a bandage.

Remembering all the had happened, I began to cry again. Holding my head with one hand, feeling my body over heating. After a few minutes of feeling sorry for myself, I stood up. Crying wont help any, nor will it make me less dirty. Diving out of the waterfall, and into the large pool. Coming up for air, the cool water feel even better as a wolf. Laughing splashing the water, I could see the crystal clear drops before they hit the waters surface. Rubbing my body as best I could, walking out. The scar on my stomach, was healing faster.

Looking around picking up smells from both deer, wolf and human. My senses were on the highest setting, and I was loving every bit of it. Willing my feet to move, I found myself running faster then I thought was possible. It sent shivers down my spine, making me feel overwhelmingly good. Stopping as I reached the city, looking around. Turning around I flew back, entering the cave grabbing my bow and quiver.

The return to the city, raised my alert. Stepping into the clearing, walking to a large building. My stomach was still hungry, and gave me a warning to feed it soon. Looking around I couldn’t hear anything out of the ordinary. A few rats running around, while deer darted threw one alley to another. Walking around the smell of wolves picked up, holding my breath I moved to a broken building. Their paws and shoes hitting the ground, maybe five or six. Peeking around the corner, I so wanted to say hi. Vince was looking around, his face look grave.
“We need to find her, Alpha is loosing it.” Vince said trying to get his men to look harder.
    “What if she’s dead?”
“She can’t be, Alpha would of felt it.” He replied.
“It took us weeks to find her, and that was just out of luck.     How are we going to find her this time?”

“Just keep looking” Vince snarled. Shaking my head quietly, I stepped away. Disappearing into the shadows, heading back to the woods. Fishing sounded like a better idea, then trying to sneak around and get something out of the city.

~Thorin’s POV~

Waiting about two hours, I forced myself off the floor. Paced for a few minutes and then decided I need to talk to her. She would listen to reason, she had to. Walking down the hall, opening my door. My eyes trailed the chain, as it got to the end the emptiness filled my insides. There on the floor lay the Fadeless collar. Grabbing it, she had broken free. Her items missing, wolf howled. She was gone, calling all the wolves to search for her.

A flooding pain slowly crept over my body, making me drop to my knees. Something was happening to her, the rush of heat covered every inch of me. Getting to my feet I rushed to Destiny’s room. Drake was just opening the door, when she walked out. Her wet hair up in a messy bun.
“Thorin, everything okay?” Her worried look held more.
“No, Fade’s gone” Growling, threw the pain.

“I told you she wouldn’t put up with it” Huffing at me. My baby sister walked past me, like nothing was wrong. Was she turning her back on me, she had always helped me before.
    “Destiny, I need her” Breaking.
“I think you’re a day late and a dollar short brother. I gave you plenty of warnings, and you heeded none of them.” Her eyes sad for me, yet not giving in.
    “Des…help me”
“Sorry Thorin. I’m not going to look for her, and neither is Drake.” Taking his hand she walks away. Watching as she leaves me with this intense pain. Wolf growls at me.

~This is your fault, now were loosing everything~
~Shut up, well get her back~
~HA, after what you did. You’ll be lucky to catch a glimpse of her~ Before I had a chance to shut him up, he went to the back of my mind.

My men called me, telling me they had no news on her. Vince came back a little while later, he looked tired and out of energy.
“Well?” I asked rising out of my chair.
“Sorry Alpha, nothing. She’s gone” Shrugging.
“She can’t be gone. Are you looking everywhere?”
“Yes the men have combed every inch of the city. She’s not in there. She must of stuck to the woods.”
“The start searching the woods” Waving my hand across the desk.
“But Alpha that’s hundreds upon thousands of acres to cover?”
“I don’t care, I want her home.” Growling.
“Yes sir” Bowing his head, taking his leave.

Sitting back down, turning my chair to look out the window. Something wasn’t sitting right with me. The key to the collar was hidden in the desk. Fade couldn’t of even reached the draw with her bow, never mind getting the key out. Growling I went for the one person who would of helped her.
“DESTINY!” Growling as I find her in the kitchen.
    “What?” Looking annoyed.
“ You helped her escape.” Pointing at her.
“And if I did?” Folding her arms. Shocked that she wasn’t denying it, I was at a lose for words.
“Thorin, I don’t know what you did to her. But when you left she was balling her eyes out. It was the most heart breaking thing I have seen from Fade. I wasn’t going to let you break her anymore.” Grabbing my mind back, I snarled at her.
    “Where is she?”
    “Safe, free”

    “I want her”
“No you want the idea of her” Scoffing at me.
    “She’s MINE!”
“Oh really, so you love your human mate then?” As she started to ask, a few wolves walked in. They stopped waiting to hear my reply.
    “She belongs to me.”
    “Not an answer brother.”
    “Destiny where is SHE!” Hissing.

“Oh boo hoo, grow up Thorin. Your human” Making air quotations while glaring at me. “Is far away from you, and happy I might add.” Smirking at the end. The word happy made my ears perk up.
    “She’s happy?”
“Yes, she’s enjoying her life. The way it should be”
    “You…you’ve seen her?”
“Mater of fact I have. She was fishing when I found her.” Her words played tricks on me.
“Found her….” Her mouth shut and she walked out of the kitchen.
    “Destiny?” Following after her.
    “What?” Growling.
    “How did you find her?”
“Luck I guess, either that or she let me see her. She doesn’t hate me” Her words stung. Walking away I didn’t follow after her. My sister had helped my…..mate get away and she was never going to come back to me.

~Fade’s POV~

After leaving the city, I headed to a fast flowing stream. Fish was sounding better by the second. Still a little dirt, I walked right into the water. Looking around, a twig snapped and faster then ever before I had an arrow pointed at the culprit.
“Hello Fade” Her sweet voice, making the bow lower.
    “Destiny” Chirping.
“You look well” Gigging as she looks at me in the water. Walking out, I smiled placing the arrow back in the holder.
    “I am, and you?”
    “Good. You have your wolf?”
“Yes, I love her” She beamed with my words.

“I’m so happy for you”
    “How…how is he?” Whispering.
“He is pacing the house, waiting your return.”
    “Hmmm” Nodding.
“I just came to check up on you. You were out for three days after I changed you.”
    “Three?”
“Yes, you slept for most of it.”
“Aww, probably why I don’t remember much” Rubbing the back of my neck.
“Drake says hi, he’s been keeping me busy”
“I bet” Chuckling as her face turns pink.
“Oh here. I brought you a change of clothes.”
“Thank you.” Taking the plastic bag.
“I need to be going, before he notices.” Grabbing her arm, she looks back.
“Don’t tell him you changed me, okay?”
“Are you sure?” Raising her brow.
    “Yes, I’m sure” Nodding.
    “Very well. Be safe Fade”
“Same to you.” Hugging her I watched as a good friend walks away.

Six fish later and I was cleaning my teeth with a small pointed bone. Looking up at the dark sky, it held a certain warmth it didn’t have before. Opting to let wolf take her first real steps out, I figured shifting was bond to happen sooner or later. Stepping up, I stripped. I needed all the clothes I could get, not knowing when Destiny would bring me more.
