Poison
I found this fact in Zoobooks: Endangered Animals
Factories pump chemicals into rivers. This kills fish. If fish aren't killed by poison, they still have it stored up in their bodies. When birds eat the fish, they store up the poison in their bodies. When they have eaten a lot of fish, the poison becomes too great of an amount, and it kills them.
