Gay is a term that primarily refers to a homosexual person or the trait of being homosexual. The term was originally used to mean "carefree", "happy", or "bright and showy".

The term's use as a reference to homosexuality may date as early as the late 19th century, but its use gradually increased in the 20th century. In modern English, gay has come to be used as an adjective, and as a noun, referring to the people, especially to gay males, and the practices and cultures associated with homosexuality.  In Many Parts Of The World There Are Homosexual, Or The More Simple Terms, Gays And Lesbians. In My Opinion There Is Nothing Wrong With Someone Liking The Same Gender, Like Really, Its Not A Big Deal At All... People Who Don't Like Gays ( Homophobics ) Are Often Disgusted Or Just Were Brought Up That Way. If You Were To Point The Finger, It Would Go Towards Many Parents, Because They Were Taught By Their Parents, Because Back Then There WAS Only Two Genders, But Now With all The Advancements We Now Know Better. People Also Criticize Gays Because They Are "Sinning." But Really, It Doesn't Make A Lot Of Sense. Where, In The Bible, Does It Say, "God Forbid All Gay Acts." Because, Speaking Religiously, God Created Us With The Power To Choose; Choose Who We Wanna Be, So How Is It Sinning If We Were Made By God, To Choose Our Own Fates? Our Own Fates, Think About It... How We Want To Look, Act, And Be. We Can Be Whoever We Want To Be, So Why Are Gays An Exception? Why Is Anyone Who Isn't Male Or Female Or Straight Considered 'Abnormal' In Society?
