Twelve

The weeks following my escape from Evil Twin numero uno were anything far from pleasant. I avoided Cole like the plague, he followed me like a stalker. Sol and I decided to end our relationship, and he was considering doing his Alpha training earlier to distance himself from Cole's sister.

My parents were very distant lately, and the only people I talked to after Sol is my brother and Sydney. Father was very different the following days, a sad look in his eyes. Mother tried to act like nothing was bothering her but I could tell something was up. Her eyes were always bloodshot and I was wondering if they were having problems.

School was the same as always, filled with petty students and boring lectures. My dreams were haunted with thoughts of my once best friend and now mate- Cole. How we would laugh and he wouldn't let anyone harm me unless it was himself. How he'd tease me over my height and how he was my rock through literally everything. I miss that Cole, my little rock.

I was sitting in the kitchen eating some pringles when suddenly the doorbell rang. When my mom yelled at me to get the door after I just sat there, I rolled my eyes and began to comply.

I opened the door and looked at the women outside weirdly. She had long brown hair, and bright blue eyes. She was very pretty and seemed oddly familiar to me. She adorned a long grey and green checkered coat and Bright Red Heels.

I looked up to see her gazing at me like I was some cute puppy she had just picked up off the street.

"Umm, can I help you miss....?" I inquired, arching a brow.

"Wow, you really do look just like me up close, Cara." She smiled at me, reaching her hand out.

"Okay?" I frown, meeting her hand halfway and expecting a handshake.

She pulled me in tightly for a hug, me standing there awkwardly.

"I'm Raven Bell, your biological mother." She smiled as she pulled away.

I stared at her in shock.

"Hey Cara who was at the- Raven? What the hell?" My father growled, grabbing my hand and pulling me behind his back.

"Hello Troy. I wish I could say it was nice to see you again. But that would be a lie. Time has not been your friend has it." She smiled maliciously, sizing up my father like he was a threat to my well being.

"Raven I thought you were dead." He replied, shock evident on his face.

"You assumed  I was dead after you left me in that burning house and stole my baby!" She growled at him, her fangs coming out.

"No, I swear. I thought you were dead or I would have come back!" He spreads his hands out wide.

"Yeah right. That's why you set my house on fire and killed my husband. My mate!" The women was really getting angry now, I could see it in her eyes.

"I went there only to kill Xavier, I didn't know you were in that house!" He tried reasoning with her, stepping closer.

I just stood there stunned. What in the world was happening to my life?

"You're a cold monster. If you don't like something you obliterate it. Just like how you killed those poor boys parents!" She argued, claws ascending by the second.

"You don't understand! They threatened to expose you! Everything I did that day was for you!" He yelled.

"Expose me to who? The council? You know full well what would happen the night your mate died. That I would take the fall for it. You would have took them out if they were a threat to me long before that. No they were going to expose you as who you are, not me! They were going to tell the council you were the one who suggested we join the rogues! You are the reason that Windy died, no one else, but you!" She spat, pulling my back to her side. I was in a daze, I didn't understand anything that was happening.

"NO!"

"Yes, and when we suggested turning back, you went anyways. And as payment for that visit they killed your mate. My best friend! Then, brother, when the Hilton's decided to turn you in rather than us and them take the fall for the daughter of the chancellors death, you had them killed! Then my mate figured it out! So you came to our house and decided it would be better if we were both dead! Admit it! You killed them all!" She spat.

My father went silent as my blood ran cold.

"What the hell are you people talking about?"

They both turned to meet my horrified gaze, finally realizing I was still standing there. They both had on sympathetic faces and I could have sworn to have seen a little guilt in my fathers eyes.

"Dad? Who is she? What are you guys talking bout'? I question incredulously.

"Um.. Uh honey, she's... She's.. Ahh," My dad started chocked up with tears and all.

"I'm Raven Bell, your birth mother. I think I said that." She said while waving a hand as if to ward off my questions.

"What is she talking about father?" I turn to my dad slowly.

"It's true, we're not your parents." He said avoiding my gaze.

My veins were ice as I searched for confirmation in both of their faces. Neither of them had shown any signs of lying, and I was incredibly dizzy.

"How is that possible?" I asked, placing the back of my hand to my clammy forehead.

"He stole you away from our house when you were six months old. Then he set the house on fire and left me and your father there to die because he joined with backstabbing rogues and would have let the council damn us all if we hadn't threatened to tell the truth." She explained analytically.

"Father- or whoever the hell you actually are- is that true?" I question, letting my hair fall down in front my my eyes.

Silence.

My hand was raising in preparation to slap him before my brain could actually think of what I was doing. I struck him hard across the face, my sob echoing in the dining hall before I spun out the back door and shifted.
