Not edited. Sorry guys, will edit all chapters soon. I'm sort of a lazy bum. :))
"I'll kill that son of a-"
"That's a little excess don't you think?"
"No, I don't think."
"He is no brother of mine."
"You can't kill him."
The bickering voices stopped my from opening my eyes. Or rather my eye because I could already feel the swollen welt around the entire left side of my face.
He really punched me? Maybe it was an accident? I shouldn't have got in the way anyways. Slowly my eyes opened and I was greeted by two bodies crowded over my own. I blinked rapidly, waiting for them to back away. I was surprised to see the lady that was at my house early with Nicklaus, both sets of eyes appearing worried.
"Woah there. How do you feel Cara?" Nicklaus questions me, tentatively touching my jaw. I wince away from his touch and his eyes close while his body shivers in anger.
"Yep, I'm going to kill him." He sighs with a confirmation nod.
"Cole? You're going to kill Cole?" I ask in confusion.
"Yes him, that hideous monster." He sighs with a dramatic shudder.
"Aren't you identical?" Bio mom suddenly pipes up.
"You be quiet. It matters on the inside. Besides I am way more attractive then him. And by the way, don't say his name Cara. It's a disgrace to your beautiful lips." Nicklaus smirks.
"Watch it boyo. That's my daughter." Bio mom sighs.
"Sorry Mama R." He laughs, and she punches him in the arm.
"So where am I? What exactly happened?" I look around the dark room in confusion.
"We're at your mother's, you'll be staying here from now on. No you are not allowed to leave and if you try I will lock you up in a tower, Princess. As for what happened, my idiotic, unworthy brother punched in the jaw. That was this morning. It's like 4:00 right now." He replies quickly, standing up and stretching.
My jaw became unhinged, literally.
"Ow, sh*t." I grabbed my jaw and winced, sending Nicklaus an icy glare.
"You want me to live with the person who kidnapped me, and a mother I know nothing about?" I asked, sounding a wee bit muffled because my lack of jaw movement. They both visually winced at my accusation.
"Yeah, sorry about that. But what's worse, us or the people who lied to you your entire life and the mate who rejected you?" Nicklaus questioned me with a cocked brow.
I stared at him a while, seeing the truth in his eye.
"Valid point. And school?" I retort with a raised brow of my own.
"You'll start at Rockchester high Monday." My 'mother' popped in with a kind smile.
"Rockchester? Are we in Little Cyprus pack territory?" I asked in confusion.
"Ye." Nicklaus adds.
"I guess I could stay here. But let's get one thing straight, I am not a captive and I will leave if I so choose." I counter, daring them to argue with my eyes.
"Absolutely." My mother nods.
"Absolutely not you mean." Nicklaus finishes with a head shake.
"Excuse you? HELLO? I am a people not an object you filthy dog." I scoff.
"That's a compliment to the dog species." He smirks.
"Yeah right. So do I get a hot tour guide?" I yawn.
"Yeah." Nicklaus smiles.
"Really who?" I perk up.
"Me. Who else?" Nicklaus laughs.
I tense up and let loose an aggravated growl.
"You're a piece of work you know that?" I sigh.
"Yes a hunky, beautiful, mind blowing master piece." He laughed cynically.
"Um no. More like a butt ugly, self absorbed, smelly piece of rotten cheese." I respond with a scrunched up nose.
"You are one feisty mama. Me likey." Nicklaus winks.
I fake a shiver and glance at my mother. She'd been watching the two of us for quite some time.
"Say, what's your name again? Raven?" I ask, which she responds with a surprised head nod.
"I'm Cara, your kid apparently. Nice to meet you, Raven." I nod back at her.
"I suppose it'd be to much to ask you to call me mother, wouldn't it?" She laughs with a sad smile.
I just gave her a narrow, pointed look. I didn't quite trust her yet.
"O-kay. Time for that tour?" Nicklaus butts in.
"Yeah, sure. Let's go." I sigh and get up off the bed. Immediately feeling woozy, I sway and would of fallen if Nicklaus hadn't caught me.
"Woah there. You all right there 'mate?" Nicklaus asks giving me a weird side glance.
"Yeah, fine now. Probably been out to long. But I can walk." I sigh, slowly opening my eyes.
"Not taking any chances." Nicklaus smirks, though obviously worried.
He swooped me up and slung me around his back, piggy backing me. I tried to slide out of his hands but he held me tighter around my thighs.
"I can walk y'know?" I sigh aggravated.
"I know." He laughed and proceeded through the doors. We ended up in a big dining hall, filled with that pack's teenagers.
"Don't necessarily have to tell you what that is huh?" He smiles. He actually had a really, really beautiful smile.
Everyone stopped what they were doing and turned to Nicklaus, whispering to one another. Some of the girls flaunted their chests and swayed their hips in front of him, instantly ticking me off. I don't ever remember feeling this much jealousy and animosity to anyone ever before. It was breathtaking and crushing, making me want to sharpen my teeth on their wolf bones.
The growl wasn't loud, but Nicklaus felt it. I could tell from the smirk that now graced his lips, the smile gone. It was actually a really good look on him. I was thankful he didn't comment though.
A few other girls shot me some real nasty looks, though some were curious and a few were openly friendly. Some of the adolescent boys let loose a few wolf whistles, emanating a menacing growl from Nicklaus himself. It was now my turn to smirk.
A teenage girl ran up to Nicklaus and squealed attaching herself to him at once.
"Nickie!" She shrieked, her head buried under my arms and in his chest. I was instantly overprotective, and slipped in between them.
"Nickie, who is this?" I smile at him sarcastically. He rolled his eyes and went around me to engulf the smaller girl.
"This is Rain, and she's my adoptive sister. So calm down Wolfie girl." He sighed.
"Nickie, you told me I was the only one who could call you Nickie!" She pouted.
He laughed and leaned in, whispering to her. I felt calmer knowing they were siblings.
"Wow, she's you's mate! She's weally pwetty Nickie. Okay, but only she and I can call you dat otay?" She smiles goofily.
I gave Nicklaus a look, almost as if I was asking why this like 16 year old girl was acting like a child. He mouthed back 'I'll explain it later.' I nodded and turned to the girl.
"Hi Rain. You're really pretty as well. I'm Cara, nice to meet you." I smiled at her.
"Thank you!" She giggled. After that she ran off to join a group of other teenagers who began playing with her hair.
"Well shall we try our look at the library now?" Nicklaus asks, still looking at Rain.
"Yes, please." I smiled back.
I feel like this is a weird chapter ending, but at least I updated. What are your thoughts on Nicklaus and Cara? Let's see who you guys want her to end up with.
I personally have a favorite, but you'll have to read to find out which.
