Tw: stalking (?), harassment, Charles? (I feel like deserves his own warning)

    “Yuqi, I am not doing this again. Hyunjin hasn't gotten a letter in weeks. Yoon hasn’t and Charles hasn’t bothered me at work. I am not going to open up a can of worms that doesn’t need to be opened,”

   “Felix, he threatened you for three years,” Yuqi stated.

   Felix sighed.

   “That is the issue! Stalking may be a crime, but do you think that the police care? Unless it gets physical they could actually careless. I don’t want to bring it to my boss, because then I will be the rookie lawyer who created unnecessary drama,” Felix said.

   “Hyunjin thinks you should tell your boss too. Hell tell Yoon. Just tell someone who can actually help,”

   “It is my decision. I have to go back to work, I will call you when I get home,”

  Felix hung up and put his phone down.

  Did he know that he should tell someone? Yes and he was going to, but he was tired of people bringing it up.

   A soft knock on his door brought him out of his thoughts,

  “Yes?”

The door opened and a woman peeked her head in, “Hey, I just wanted to come by and talk,”

   “Oh, what about?” Felix asked.

    Natalie walked in and closed the door behind her, “About Charles,”

   Feix pursed his lips, “Uhm, what about him?”

     “I was thinking of that conversation we had a couple weeks ago and it just seemed a little off with the way Charles was talking,” she said.

  “I don’t want this to get back to Will or Yoon, especially Yoon,” Felix said.

  “I can’t say that it won’t get back to Will especially depending on severity,”

Felix bit his lip, “Charles and I do have a past, a very complicated and difficult past. We met in high school. After high school I never expected to see or hear from him again. To be honest, I hoped I never did.

  So when I went out with Yoon a couple weeks ago to meet other co-workers, I got scared seeing him there, because of what happened.

   That day we talked, I was going to talk to Will, but then Charles appeared and I just couldn’t. I mean he hurt me once, what more could he do and apparently he did a lot,” Felix told her.
 
  “What did he do?”

   “He was threatening me and using that to basically control someone important in my life for years,”

  Natalie shook her head, “The first time, what did he do to make it to where you were scared enough of him to not tell someone?”

   Felix looked at his hands, “It is in my file for the firm the one Will has,”

   The woman nodded, “Like I said, I can’t say this won’t get back to at least Will,”

  “If it does, can we just try to keep it quiet. I don’t what this to be a big thing,”

   “We will try, I promise… Take the last of the day off. Go home and get some rest,”

   Felix nodded, “I’ll just let Yoon know,”

   “I’ll tell him, I was heading to him anyway,” Natalie said.

   “Okay… I’ll see you tomorrow,” He said softly.

  Natalie opened the door, “Whatever happens, the firm will protect you,”

   The younger took a deep breath, “Thank you,”
 
   The woman nodded and left the room.

    Felix sighed and packed his things up. Everything would be fine… he hoped.

   The girl looked at the assortment of candies. She was supposed to be in class right now, but she left after her first class.

   Her parents would be pissed if they found out.

   When the bell to the store jingled she looked up, her eyes instantly rolling.

   She didn't hate her dad's new boyfriend, she just was fond of change. Felix was actually really nice to her even when she was mean to him.

    He'd bake her cookies, brownies, cake and many more things. He even came in place of her parents for a bake sale. Neither of them had the day off but he did and he happily spent his day off helping her.

  Abigail didn't hate Felix, she just found it difficult to accept things were different now.

    She watched as he went to look at the chips. With a hum, she looked back at the candies.

   She never really understood zero bars, but maybe it was because she wasn’t a fan of caramel. The girl looked again from the candy when the door opened again this time harsher.

   A man walked in, it was clear he was angry. She looked away, deciding it wasn’t her business.

Except she couldn’t look away, not when the man was walking right towards Felix. She walked a little closer, just enough to be in earshot.

    “What did you tell her?” The man questioned.

  “What do you mean?” Felix asked.

  “I saw Natalie leave your office and I overheard Natalie talking to Will about looking into your file. What did you tell her?”

  Abigail watched Felix roll his eyes and begin to walk away only for the other man to grab his arm.

   “Charles, let me go. I don’t know what you are talking about,”

   The brunette watched as the grip ‘Charles’ had on Felix got tighter. She held on a little tighter to the candy she was holding and began to walk closer.

   “Felix!” She called out.

  The man let go of Felix as she walked up.

   Felix looked at her clearly shaken, “Abby, what are you doing here? Aren’t you supposed to be in school?”

   “I have a period off and kind of snuck off, wanted some candy and I was thinking of visiting my dad,” Abigail said.

    Felix nodded, “Well you should get going, yeah?”

   “Actually, I was hoping you would walk me,”

   “He and I were talking, kid, I think you should go,” Charles said.

   “Really? I didn’t know talking included touching,” Abigail said.

    Felix’s eyes widened a little. How much had the girl seen?

   “Abby, go wait by the register for me. I’ll walk you to the office,” Felix said softly.

   The girl hesitated, but she walked away to the counter.

     “What did you tell her, Felix? I won’t ask again,” Charles said.

   “You forget I am not fifteen anymore. A small piece of me may still be scared of you, but it doesn’t matter anymore. If you hurt me in any way, if you hurt anyone I know, all those letters you sent will find their way into the hands of the police, into the hands of Will, into the hands of the media, and most importantly they will find their way to your grandmother.

   Your parents may have been able to help you back then, but do you think they’ll do it again? How many more times will your parents cover up your messes?

   Do you think for a second that the company your grandmother worked to build will go to you if she finds out all that you’ve done? If I were you I’d think long and hard about what you do next,” Felix told him.

  Charles chuckled, “Here’s the thing, I know you. You put on a brave face and hell when Hyunjin is around you’ll put on an even braver one cause you want him to know you can handle yourself.

  However, you are still that same fifteen year old from all those years ago. You’ll put on faces and try to build up walls to protect yourself, but let’s be real if it had not been for Yuqi, you and I would have been married,”

Felix backed away, “Goodbye Charles,”

    He wasn’t the same person from twelve years ago.
