"So this is your place?" Dazai asked, his eyes gleaming as he looked around.
"It's one of the cheapest on the market. I wouldn't say it's anything too amazing." I shrugged.
"Well I live in one of the agencies free apartments, so you just buying one is quite impressive." Dazai chuckled.
"Dazai is like, very in debt to a lot of people." Atsushi whispered.
"Don't tell the lovely lady such things! Gosh Atsushi." Dazai grumbled.
"Uh you guys can stay in here. Make yourself at home." I said, looking to the living room.
Which wasn't very clean.
"Let me just clean up everything." I said quietly, going over to the corner, looking through all the random items which had ended up in the living room, taking them back to their designated rooms and spots.
Dazai was busy looking at the pictures along the walls.
"Who's this man?" He asked.
"Him?" I came over. "That's my dad. This was his apartment, but he, passed away." I said awkwardly.
"I'm sorry for your loss." Dazai smiled apologetically.
He kept looking along the photos, finding one of me with another man.
"Who's this man? I'm assuming it's not your dad again, otherwise he would be very young." He asked.
"That's my old boyfriend. We ended ways mutually, so we were still friends for awhile. Haven't heard from him in years." I said, getting food out from the fridge, and turning on the stove.
"May I ask, who do you know who knew of your abilities?" He peered.
"Dazai! Stop asking so many questions." Atsushi said from the couch, half-watching the news that flickered on the TV.
"He's fine. I understand. No, only my Mum and Dad knew. They're both dead. Mum died when I was a lot younger, and my dad died four years ago. I was living with my Aunt for awhile in Aoyama, before I moved into an apartment with a friend. She didn't know, nor did my Aunt." I explained briefly, placing the noodles in the pot.
"What about your boyfriend?" Dazai asked.
I froze. "He knew of one.. the one you guys have seen." I whispered. "I accidentally used it on him once."
Dazai nodded.
"Y/N," Atsushi started. "Do you mind talking about your second ability? Just in case it acts up, if you believe you don't have much control of either. That's so Dazai can cancel it out for you."
I felt a shudder tremble down my spine.
"I don't really like talking about it. It scares me. Do you guys know dolls? How soulless and lifeless they are? That's why it scares me. My second ability, Two of the same seed, gives my the power to either control another's ability like it was my own, or through a, clone I suppose." I started, the memories flushing back.
"I don't want to go with you! Get away from me!" I yelled, voice muffled by the mask on my face, which was covered by a man's hand.
"You're worth a lot love, I can't do that." He laughed.
That's when a version of me appeared, eyes empty.
There was no sadness, no joy, nothing in those hollow pits.
In it's eyes.
Then a large explosion blasted through the man's body, and the clone looked at me.
A face, a doll.
I was breathing like crazy, hands glowing.
"Go away, go away." I whispered, crossing my arms in front of my face, closing my eyes.
I felt the face get closer, it's cold breath touching my face, sending a shudder down my spine.
"Weak." It whispered, walking away.
No before grabbing my leg, and twisting it back, however.
That thing was vile.
It wasn't me. I knew it wasn't.
From then, I swear I saw it everywhere.
I didn't realise it, but I was panicking.
"The stupid clones don't disappear. I- I let one go. It had this guys explosive ability. It just wouldn't go away. I hate this curse I hate it I hate it." I rambled, holding my hands up to my face.
Atsushi started to walk over to me, but Dazai stopped him, holding and arm in front of his companion.
That's because I was glowing again.
"Y/N, it is my opinion that you should join the Armed Detective Agency. Our leader has an ability that allows members of the ADA to better master their ability. It would allow you to have control. If you joined the Port Mafia, they would beat you and bruise you to learn. Or just sell you. Either one would work for them." Dazai explained slowly.
"I don't want to join either. I just want to get money to go to college, and pursue some sort of dream I haven't thought about yet." I said, evening out my breathing.
"Y/N, would it calm you down if I try and find your so called clone for you. I would be able to cancel it out, if you think it is still active from when I cancelled your power earlier." Dazai said, walking closer to me.
"Good luck finding that fucking thing. It just blends in with the crowd, it's disgusting." I said, feeling myself on the verge of tears.
"That's why I came to Yokohama. Clearly not a fucking good idea." I said, feeling Dazai touch my shoulder, covering us both in a white light.
"I have a theory. If you activate your second ability, and I erase it, your clone should disappear. The problem is, you have no control over it, do you?" He asked.
I shook my head. "Not at all."
He sighed. "This will be a problem. Well, enough of this depressing talk, I'm hungry!"
There it was again. He just switched. One second serious, the next second acting like an idiot.
I don't understand him.
I just shrugged, turning back to the stove, stirring the noodles around whilst Atsushi and Dazai stood around, talking, trying to include me every now and again.
Once the noodles were cooked, I got to the meat, slicing it quickly, cooking that too.
It was all ready within twenty minutes as I lined it out on the table.
"Have as much as you want, I don't need that much." I smiled.
They came and sat down with me, and we all began eating.
Then I heard a window shatter, and footsteps.
"Dazai.. someone's here."
