Edited. 

I look at my mobile screen and wonder if I should open it or not. 

"You coming Bree?" Kayla asks once she notices I'm not walking anymore. 

"Yeah. Just give me a second?" I say as I finally build up the courage to open the text message. I open it to find a picture of Mason and I getting out of a car and going into the airport while leaving our home town. 

"What the hell?" I whisper to myself as Mason heads towards me. 

"Aubrey? Is everything okay?" He asks. 

"Yeah." I say, biting my lip. "Why wouldn't it be?"

He eyes me suspiciously then grabs the mobile phone from my hand. 

"Mas-" I begin to say but I knew he had seen the message.

His eyes widen as his eyes view the photo from last night. 

He looks at me with worry and then hugs me. "Everything is going to be okay. I won't let him hurt you. Okay?" He says. I nod, while smiling and go to my room to find Kayla already lying on my bed. 

"Finally you are here." She said sighing dramatically. 

I laugh then say, "You know you don't have to help me if you don't want to." 

She shrugs and then says, "I want to help. The faster we finish unpacking the faster we can go shopping. I heard people say that the shopping centres here are awesome." I nod in agreement. 

I take out my iPod and play a Lykke Li song on full volume. Halfway through unpacking I look at Kayla who was busy setting my wardrobe and asked, "So what's your story?"

"What?" She says confused. 

"I mean your life before coming to University." I say. 

She looks at me and sighs. Her eyes filled with an unknown emotion. 

"If you don't want to tell me it's okay." I continue carefully. 

She shakes her head and then says, "No. It's fine. It's better to tell someone than keep it all bottled up." 

She takes a shaky breath and then continues, "Before coming to college my life was practically a living hell. It wasn't that we were having financial issues, but still. I was a loner whilst Adam was the star football player; girls would be my friends only to get close to Adam and then would stab me in the back and leave me all alone. Our parents were very rich businessmen which also meant they made a lot of enemies and got a lot of threats. We didn't think anything of it until one night a man broke in and killed them both. Aiden and I had heard voices and hid in his closet. No one knew that my parents were murdered, or rather my aunt told everyone they died in a car accident. We moved in with our aunty later on and the fact that I didn't have any friends or parents hit me quite hard and I turned mute for months. Then one night Aiden came into my room and talked some sense into me. I thought University would be a fresh start for me, right? So I promised myself to only have a few real friends rather than loads of fake ones." 

By the time she finished my face was streaked with stray tears and I hurriedly got up off my bed and tackled her into a tight hug. 

"I am so so sorry." I say. 

She hugs me back and we break apart. She wipes her cheeks and says, "So you heard mine, what's yours?" 

I awkwardly look to the ground and take a deep breath and tell her about Xavier and everything he did to me and the fact that he is probably out there somewhere looking for me. I even showed her the creepy text I received a few hours ago. 

After what seemed like eternity, I peaked at her through my lashes and saw her eyes were redder than ever. She comes over to me and hugs me tightly. 

"I am so sorry. You want through so much more than I have. If he does come back for you I will personally beat the living shit out of him." She says with a passion in her eyes. 

I hug her and laugh at the last part as a few more tears fall from her eyes. We break apart after a few more minutes and look at each other. 

"Best friends?" I say looking at her. 

"Forever." She finishes making us smile. 

We clean our faces and finish unpacking whilst dancing and singing to multiple songs which ranged from Lana Del Rey to The Neighbourhood. By the time we finish it is 8:00 pm. 

"God I'm tired." Kayla says whilst plopping into my bed. 

"Me too. Who knew I brought so many clothes." I say causing Kayla to chuckle. 

We close our eyes for a few minutes when we hear my bedroom door open and a huge thud causing us to open our eyes and scream while hugging each other. 

Suddenly I hear laughing and see Aiden and Mason laughing their head off. 

"Y-you s-should've seen your faces." Aiden said while wiping a tear that escaped his eye as I glared at Mason. 

"Sorry babe but you looked so cute." He says whilst still laughing on the floor. 

Kayla and I looked at each other then smiled devilishly before jumping off the bed and running after them.

The next morning I woke up to Kayla shaking me awake. 

"Get up lazy pants or else we'll be late for the orientation ceremony." She said. 

I groaned and covered my face with a pillow only for it to be snatched away from me. 

"What the hell?" I shouted as I got up and stared at Kayla who was dressed in a casual black tank top dress with a shoulder drop 'Noisy Crazy Party' top with black boots. Her hair was in a fish tail braid. She looked pretty good. 

"What the hell?! It's 7:30 and we need to be in the hall by 8:00 am so I propose you get ready or I am dressing you myself." 

I lift my hands up in surrender and hurriedly grab my clothes from the closet, I then made my way to the bathroom. I hurriedly took a bath and changed into a black tank top with a plunging v-neck over top, denim shorts and brown leather boots. I quickly blow dried my hair and put them in a low ponytail so my bangs were falling on my face. 

"10 minutes!" I heard Kayla yell as I sprinted out of the bathroom and into the living room grabbing my black bag on the way. 

"Done." I said, standing in front of Aiden, Mason and Kayla in the living room whilst taking deep breaths. 

"I told you, now give me my £10." Kayla said to Mason. 

Then an annoyed Mason reluctantly took out his wallet and handed Kayla £10. 

"Wha-" 

"Kayla said she could get you ready in 15 minutes and I said she was an idiot. So we made a bet but as you can see I was wrong." 

I chuckled then looked at the time. 

"Come on. Let's go!" I say as I hold Mason's hand. 

"Oh, by the way, we're going to IKEA after this. You guys want to come?" Kayla says looking at Mason and Aiden. 

"Yup." Aiden replies whilst Mason just shrugs. 

"Come on, Mason." I say begging. 

"Fine." He grumbles. 

We make our way to the grand hall while receiving stares from different people. Some were looking at us with envy and some were just simply... staring. 

We decided to ignore them. Soon enough we were sitting on the top rows of the hall. The seats of the hall were arranged just like a cinema circling a stage in the middle. 

When everyone was seated a middle aged man with a bald head and thickly-lensed glasses came and began with his awfully boring speech which was the usual, about the rules... etc. 

I looked here and there when a boy caught my eye. He had blonde hair and green eyes but something about him seemed so familiar but I just couldn't put my finger on it. He was wearing a V-neck shirt with black pants and some black supra's. He was also wearing a black hoodie over his V-neck. He noticed me staring at him and grinned in response. I returned the smile, thinking it would be rude not to. Suddenly, I felt someone staring at me. I looked at the boy and found his eyes trained on my frame. 

I turned to look at Mason who looked at me raising his eyebrows as if to ask what's wrong? 

I just shook my head, saying nothing. He shrugged but I knew he wasn't buying it. I then ignored the boy. 

After what seemed like eternity the principal finally finished with his rant and left the hall. We decided to leave at the end since there was a lot of hustle. Soon the hall half empty I looked at Aiden who was sitting beside Mason, sleeping. I looked at Kayla who was smiling deviously at me. I nodded at her as she took out her mobile phone. I grabbed a pack of salt and pepper crisps from my bag and carefully opened it whilst Mason was smirking and the four people that were sitting behind us were looking at us with curiosity. I took a fist full if the crisps in my hand and crushed them, then I blew them on Aiden's face causing him to open his eyes and scream, "I'm dying!" And by the time he realised what was happening, it was too late. Mason, Kayla, and the four children behind us were laughing hysterically. 

Aiden looked at us grimly and said, "I will get you back for this you guys. And Mason, I thought you were meant to be on my side!?" 

"Sorry bro," Mason said while patting Aiden's shoulder. Aiden just huffed causing us to laugh. Finally Kayla and I regained control of ourselves when the people sitting behind us, came up to us. We hadn't even noticed them till now. 

"You guys are hilarious." A girl with light brown hair said while holding a boys hand. 

Kayla and I smiled at her compliment and said, "Thanks." 

"I'm Maria. And this is my boyfriend Caleb." 

"I'm Natasha." The girl with dark brown hair and brown eyes said, she was extremely pretty. 

"And I'm Blake," says a really cute guy with brown hair and blue eyes which were framed with thick black glasses, probably Dolce & Gabbana. He wasn't as cute as Mason though...

"Hi, I'm Aubrey and this is Mason, my boyfriend." I respond

"And I'm Kayla and this is my extreme idiot of a twin brother, Aiden." Kayla said while playfully putting her arm around Aiden's shoulder only for him to shrug it off. 

"Nice to meet you." Maria said. 

"Do you want to come over to our dorm?" Blake asked, looking at Kayla. 

"Sorry, we're going to IKEA to buy some stuff for our dorm." Kayla replies looking at him. 

"Why don't you guys come?" Mason asks them. 

They all agree and we make our way out of the University. We went out to find a black jeep there which Kayla and I rented out for our little trip to the mall. 

We pile in the car with Aiden behind the wheel and Natasha sitting shotgun. The rest of us were sitting in the back. I was sitting with Mason, Maria was sitting with Caleb and Blake was sitting with Kayla. 

"Yo! Turn up the radio bro!" Kayla shouted from the back making us laugh. 

Soon we reached IKEA while laughing and singing along the way. 

We all went inside. 

Kayla brought a trolley and I hurriedly sat inside it, with Kayla pushing it. Mason, Natasha and Caleb did the same thing with Aiden, Maria and Blake pushing each of them. 

"Let's go!" I shouted at them. Soon enough we were being chased by a security guard who finally caught us and asked us to get out of the carts which we did after laughing hysterically. 

After hours and hours we were finally done shopping. Mason wanted to pay for my stuff but I didn't let him this time which resulted in him pouting like a baby. 

"What's the time? I'm starving." Natasha says as we make our way to the jeep. 

"2:00pm." Aiden replies.

 "Let's go to Nando's." Blake says whilst Kayla nods. 

We all agreed and piled into the car this time with Maria sitting next to me and Blake behind the wheel with Kayla shotgun. Mason and Caleb head towards us. Mason looks at us and then pouts. "I wanna sit with my girlfriend." He says while crossing his arms. Caleb wanted to sit with Maria because he was giving her the puppy dog eyes. 

"Both of you boys in the back seat before I starve to death." I say as they make their way to the seats while pouting which causes me to chuckle. 

"Finally," Kayla says dramatically causing Blake to chuckle while starting the car. 

After a few minutes we reach Nando's and park our car. We ate our lunch while chatting to each other and by 5:00pm we were all back in the University holding shopping bags from our trip today. 

"We had so much fun today," Natasha says. 

"Yeah," Blake nods. 

"I forgot to ask. What is your guys dorm room number?" Kayla says. 

"480 - 483." Blake replies. 

"Great, that's just two doors away from us." I say. 

"That's awesome." Natasha says. 

We say our goodbyes and make our way to our respective dorms. We go into our dorm when suddenly I get this awful feeling.
