A bit of angst but not to much

Caspian

He didn't get any sleep last night and he forgot to set his alarm meaning Momboo had to get him up and that only ever ends in scolding, which is never fun. He was a little thankful though, because if it wasn't for Momboo and the forgotten alarms, he wouldn't get the day off.

It was about mid day and Momboo had just left for work and Caspian was board out of his mind. Momboo had gone to work, Ocie was training a new racer so the track wasn't even open, Will was at the Cafe and Athena was- well what was Athena up to?

I mean it wouldn't hurt to try-

So, in a last attempt to cure this cures, Caspian calls Athena.

Ring, Ring, Rin-

"Hi Caspian!" He heard the oddly exited teen on the other end.

"Hi Athena, I was wondering if you where busy?" He really hope not.

"I'm not busy but I'm hanging out with my other uncle- you wanted to meet him, right?" Athena wasn't wrong, he did want to meet this person...

"Ya sure, where would you like to meet up?" He wasn't sure if he actually wanted to do this or if he was just board. 

All he heard from the other end was an excited giggle and a quick "I'll text you"  before hanging up. Welp, looks like i need to get up.

Athena wanted to meet at the park and he'd be lying if he said he wasn't nervous dude, calm your self down, your fi-  just as he stopped his pacing, pink hair made him stumble backwards. It was almost as if his anxiety went away as Athena ran into him, almost. What made his anxiety not- "peek",  but more so filled him with a sense of annoyance and...       something else, was who was with them.

" Well, well. Look who we have here."  the Midnight Racer. Why had it have to be him. "looks like i didn't need to wait all that long to learn your name, Caspian" he both hated and- wait what, why did he like the way-  no, that's not-  what?!

"I didn't know you already know each other!  Well i guess that makes sense if you both race together."

"Well then, whats yours?" he ask kinda shady. Caspian wasn't ok with being the only one that didn't know his know his name.

"Well i don't think-" he began before being cut off by the child. He wouldn't say anything, but Caspian was thankful for Athena. 

"It's Rae!" They seemed to be exited but by the look they gave...   Rae-  they seemed to have known where it was going.

"Well, nice-" Ring, Ring, Ring-   He was going to be nice when his phone rang. Who could-   Fuck-

"Heyy Momboo-"

"Heyy Momboo-" if you couldn't hear the other side of the call, the way the other man flinched away from the phone made if clear that the other person had yelled. And Rae, who already knew he had a "crush" on...    Caspian-   he wouldn't lie and say he hated the name- felt the need to protect the shorter male.

Rae know who Momboo was, manly because of Athena and Jamie but he know her and he knew she was probably going "mother bear" on him. 

It was maybe three minutes before Caspian came back with embarrassment written all over his face.     His...  beautiful..    face.    Rae still couldn't understand why or how he liked the other man. The two of them  only ever saw each other during races and even then they hardly talk. 

"What was that about?" 

"Is every thing ok?"  Him and Athena asked together, both showing worry though definitely more Athena then Rae.

Caspian seemed a little- overwhelmed? He couldn't place it,  the other just looked between them, or more like, looked at Athena then stared at Rae before looking away.

"Its nothing, really, just-" he paused, almost like he was looking for a way out. What is with him now, he seemed so-- happy?  earlier, why was he stand offish now?

"She was wounder where I was and when I would be back, that's all." He looked back at the other two with the most fake smile Rae has seen and Rae's seen a lot of fake smiles but this one? This hurt him. Not just because of who was wearing it, no. Because it looked like Caspian was trying so hard to not break the mask.

Rae doesn't think Athena could tell and if they did then they hid it really well as they spoke with such happiness in they voice. A happiness Rae was thankful for.

"Okay then. Does she want you home?" Rae could tell they didn't want Caspian to leave and he doesn't think Cas wanted to as well but the way his eyebrows lifted, Rae could tell he found his way out.

"Yeah. Well, not really, she just was wondering because she's meeting with her sister and was worried about me, plus i have some things i need to do apparently." And that was it, he was out. But of course, not every exit is save.

"How about, Athena, you go to Sherb's and i'll walk Caspian home." Athena lit up at that. They always liked going to they'er cousin's place and well, they also knew about the crush, sooo- you know.

"Okay, see you later Cas!" They spoke in a single breath well running in a direction.

Caspian on the other hand didn't seem all to happy to have Rae with him.

"lead the way lost one" and with that Rae followed him home but of course, not with out Caspian internally freaking out.

With this being the second chapter of this and it probably going to go up to at least four chapters, I'm probably going to move this over to it own mini book. I also have a feeling that thats going to happen alot, start as a one-shot, moved to its own book. Anyways, I thank you for you patience and remember to take care of your self, lots of love - theo
