Faasle
She sat in the dark corridor by the side table in the shadow. Her heart heavy. She had caused him embarrassment in public, the same people who din't stop praising him were the ones who had laughed. Tears rolled down her cheeks. She shouldn't have gone! Whenever she tried closing the distance between them, the distance only increased.
"Hum jeetni koshish karte hai inn faaslon ko mitaane ki yeh utne hi bad jaatein hain.
No matter how much she tried to mould herself into his life she was never be able to. She tried coloring him in her color but that never happened. So she tried coloring herself with his color but that also dint work. It perhaps would never. Because it wasn't a two way effort.
While she was ready to shed of all her insecurities and paint a new life for "them. He was still holding on to his fears and lost in the whirlpool within himself.
She was broken. The insults of course did hurt her, but she never had really cared for what the world said. But what hurt deep down leaving the wounds that could never be healed was his indifference to it all. Today even her love had felt defeated. Maybe things never did work that way. She had failed, and so had her selfless love for him.
"Humein jo fark hain wo humaare faasle ko kabhi nahi mitne denge... She cried, she had to accept the truth now. How long could she run away from it? And running away would only cause more pain to both. The pieces of her broken heart she held now hurt her.
Huwe faasle, jhoote silsile
Toote huwee dil jaayen kahanA chasm has opened upAll paths have failedWhat cure is there now for broken hearts?
She wiped her tears to no effect as more came rushing down. She finally let go of the little strength she had and cried bitterly. Her heart whose happiness only lay in his "Saath, was starved and weak, and now lay lifeless in a hot never ending stretch of desert.
She couldn't take the pain any longer. The pain she had concealed below her evergreen smile. All she wanted was him as a companion, perhaps she had asked for too much.
But now she no longer wanted to be in pain or inflict pain on him. She stood up, her face dull and drained. The tears had dried but the tracks remained. Her eyes red reflecting the state of the bleeding pieces of her broken heart.
She walked away, this time to never return. He might need her support but she now knew his brothers and family loved him as much as she did and they would never leave him.
She turned to look at the mansion once more. She din't know where she would go without anything in hand. But she knew she had to go, before things got worse.
She left behind her most important part with him. She left all her happiness to him. She sent up a silent prayer to give him all the happiness that she had not even witnessed in her life.
Mujhe jo khushi mili na kabhi
Jaye tere sang jaye tu jahan
The happiness that always remained beyond my reach
May you be blessed with it wherever you may go
She wiped those tears which once again made their way to her eyes and down.
"Omkara jii aap aap hain, aur hum hum. Aap humesha humaare zehen mein rahenge, Dil nahi keh sakte - ...dil ke tukde toh hum aapke paas chod ke jaa rahe hain! Hum waada karte hain hum kabhi nahi aayenge aapke paas. Kabhi nahi.. her voice trailed.
"Aap humesha humaari duaaon mein rahenge. Humesha! " she turned to the road, wondering which way she should go. Somewhere where no one will be able to locate her.
Meri ye dua hai ke tera jiwan
Chalta rahe saari khahishein ho poori
I pray fervently that you continue to prosper in lifeAnd that all your hopes and dreams may come true
She wanted to turn back, and look up at his window, a chance she might find his glimpse. No point. She walked on and on. The darkness and shadows hiding her from the world. The world dint feel her absence, perhaps even he wouldn't.
Teri duniya mein na ho ye kami
Na ho ye kami.
May your world never feel my absence.Never my absence.
