Those words hit me like a truck. Veronica was such a small broken human being, blaming all the hurt in herself.

"Don't you want a life with me JD? Just stay with me. Let's be normal."

"What's normal?!"

She looked at me sadly. And then she stood up on the tips of her toes to press her cute chapped lips against mine. I closed my eyes as I felt her hand cup my face. I felt cold the second she pulled away.

"If you love me you'll do this for me."

I had spent all this time, done all this planning to get to blow up Westerburg, and now I was going to throw it away.

"Veronica..."

She looked up, with those big brown eyes, bracing herself for whatever I would throw at her. Ready for rejection.

"...you're the one I choose."
