🪞 don't look away🪞

killin me now / killin me now / do you hear me, yeah

How many times had they run through the choreo?

Eight times? Ten?

Jimin had lost count, knowing only that if he were to place his fingers to his wrist, the blood in his veins would probably pulse at the same rate as the kick beat.

"Last time. We'll film the practice tomorrow," Hoseok announced decisively, wiping his brow and pulling Yoongi to him for a deep kiss.

As if overworking everyone was some depraved version of foreplay.

And with the look on Yoongi's face as he pulled away, it most likely was.

Hoseok clapped his hands and the rest of the members arranged themselves once again in their opening stance, frozen in place.

As they waited for the song to begin, Jimin could feel Taehyung alongside him. Hear his breathing, feel the heat of his exhausted frame, smell the sweat mixed with the scent of his shampoo.

Could picture how they'd look in the mirror, Taehyung's jaw falling slack as Jimin traced the lines of his body with his tongue.

His body moved on autopilot, keeping perfect synchronicity with the other members, but his mind was taking him through a myriad of line-crossing scenarios.

Taehyung sprawled out on the Bangtan logo on the floor as he'd been earlier, but this time sans clothing, only covered in a layer of sweat and cum.

Riding Taehyung in front of the mirror. Fucking Taehyung into the mirror, his smirk pressed up against the glass. His imaginary thrusts aligning to the end of every line in the chorus.

yeah yeah yeah

These things running in his thoughts as he danced, Jimin broke away from the group and shifted onto his mark as they all formed a single line.

The track blared in the room and a quiet voice in the back of his mind softly counted himself in for his solo dance.

He crossed and uncrossed his arms, raising his left high into the air grasping for something elusive. A sequence of spins, crossing in front of first Jungkook, then Namjoon.

Constantly reaching, constantly pulling himself back.

Making his way down the line, now directly in front of Taehyung, the need radiating from his body like the ripples on the still surface of a lake. Jimin wanted to throw himself in.

But he continued, chest heaving, his fluctuating movements becoming a confession.

Sharp, then slow.

Quick, then delicate.

And controlled. Always controlled.

yeah yeah yeah

The isolated notes of the gayageum signaled the end of the track and all seven members raised their arms up in the air, slowly.

Arms stiff, structured, bent at the elbows, hands enclosed into fists. Then melting, going limp at the wrists, as if they were puppets with arms pulled up by undetectable strings.

They plucked in the air upon the closing notes of the track. Yoongi and Seokjin. Then Hoseok and Jungkook. Then Taehyung and Namjoon.

Ending on Jimin.

Then their bodies became animated, jerking to life only to return to their starting position from the beginning of the track. They held the position, Jimin imagining the stage lights fading. Imagining darkness enveloping him as Taehyung breathed deeply in his periphery.

"Good work- Shit! Seokjin you nailed everything in the center choreo!" Hoseok slapped his hyung on the shoulder and Seokjin nodded.

"Well, as the saying goes: sixteenth time's the charm," he saw Yoongi smiling and shaking his head out of the corner of his eye, "What? I'm sure it's a saying somewhere!"

Hoseok broke into laughter, "Sixteen- We did not practice nearly that many times!"

Jungkook chugged down the rest of his water and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, gasping, "Hyungs- I need to set foot outside of this room. Let's get food, yeah?"

Namjoon nodded and suggested something Jimin couldn't hear.

He was too busy watching Taehyung, leaning his head to the side and rotating in circles to relieve his muscles.

Yoongi asked Jimin a question, one that, again, he didn't hear.

"Jimin? Hellooo," he waved his hand in front of Jimin's face and the blond finally snapped back outside of his thoughts.

"I'm- I'm gonna stay to practice my solo choreo for the MV."

"Jimin-ssi!," It was Jungkook who protested, lips pulled forward in a pout, "You literally can't get any better, take a break with us!"

"It's fine, Kookie! Tae can stay with me-"

He said it before he finished thinking it. All he knew was that they couldn't go back to the dorms right now. Back to their room.

Back to lines.

The practice room was open, mirrored. Endless.

Taehyung nodded and Jimin couldn't read his expression in the mirror.
