Haper (3:1)

Trivik's eyes open, and he groans while sitting up on his silken bed. After a few blinks, he registers his surroundings, and then the fact both orbs are where they should be. His fingers frantically move down his naked back, but no wound or scab is anywhere. How long was he out?

As he gazes around the room with a numb mind, he catches strong snoring beside him. In shock, he hops to the side lightly, and he notices short, black hairs sticking up from the the blankets. With a shaking hand, he reaches out, gingerly removing the blankets from the figure. And once Gnaimral's head is revealed, Trivik nods in disbelief and jumps out of his bed, staring at the brawny man like a surprised cat.

Gnaim moans tiredly, yanking the blankets back over his head. The luxury of sleeping within a lord's bed must have caused him to sleep with Trivik, he hopes, continuing to gaze cluelessly. Trivik inhales, releasing the air as he nears the bed again.

One major worry weighs on Trivik's mind: the state of Gnaim's person. Desperately, Trivik desires the man to be in his generally ragged clothes, or at least his, since he slept in the buff, though he typically wears loose pants.

And Trivik's heart drops to his stomach. He peels away the covers, more and more of Gnaim showing until it's assured that he, too, slept without a shred of fabric on him. Trivik's face glows ruby red, and his firm arms shake at his sides.

"Gnaimral! What do you think you're doing in my bed?" Trivik barks with gritted teeth.

The man stretches and slowly rises, searching to and fro for his own answers on where he is. Trivik glares at him, and Gnaim rubs the back of his head with a puzzled countenance.

"Trivik? Where am I?" he asks, and Trivik's soul burns.

"I should be the one asking that! Why are you nude in my bed!"

Gnaim shifts his eyes down at his bare body, frowning with fear when he glances back up. Trivik glowers with the demand for either apology or understanding in his eyes, and Gnaim gulps with neither options in his mind.

Given only silence, Trivik's heart stings, and he ponders what to do. He could pull him up by the throat, Trivik considers, mentally comparing the side of his lengthy hand to Gnaim's thick throat. But before any drastic mistakes can be made, Vaz strolls in with a tray of grapes and water, and Trivik's mind cools down as he turns to her.

Seeing the sweat built up on Gnaim's shaven chest and forehead, Vaz makes a quick pace to him, setting the silver platter on the bed. Trivik's smile that spawned upon her entrance drops when Vaz taps her foot on the ground as she stares at the two men.

"Triv, what did you say to Gnaim?" she questions, and Trivik immediately feels wrongly accused.

"Nothing, nothing. I just asked why he's in my bed, that's all," Trivik tells, making a threatening glance at Gnaim to signify he shouldn't say anything against him. Gnaim exhales.

"It was nothing as Trivik claims," Gnaim grumbles. "Vaz, why am I here?"

Vaz's eyes glaze over, and she sorrowfully looks at the man. "I found you in the street last night. Since Trivik finished healing with the week over, I brought him to his bed. I cleaned you and put you with him, as you were badly beaten. Look at your back."

Gnaim twists his body and neck, peering at his back covered in purple splotches. And as he notices his pain, he finds a lump on his head due to the soreness. Trivik's stomach fills with frigidity, and he sits beside Gnaim, delicately placing his hand on his shoulder. He mouths, "I apologize for yelling." Gnaim nods and smiles lightly.

"How did you get into that situation?" Trivik questions, frowning with the images of similar occurrences happening to the man.

"I don't remember. Perhaps they went straight for my head and knocked me out. And the reason is obvious; they did this since I'm a Haper."

Hapers: extremely uncontrollable half-Reaper half-human combinations with powerful innate abilities unlike their Reaper parent. Few exist in the Overworld, and Gnaim and his sister are the only in all of West Over. With their horrific temperaments and hybrid nature, they are scorned by all; even the Goddess hates their existence.

Trivik scowls, clenching his fist. "Gnaim, you've got to tell us who keeps doing this. You know I can destroy them," he growls, but Gnaim shakes his head.

"No. I don't wish to hurt them. It's normal to feel strangely about me. You did, but you didn't know I was a Haper till..." Gnaim gazes at the floor in remembrance.

"Anyway," Vaz starts, holding out the tray to the two men. "You guys should eat. This is all I could find. Trivik, your servants won't help me since we aren't married. Aren't we supposed to be in a few days?"

Trivik beams, his eyes gaping. He immediately stands, holding Vaz's hands in his as he excitedly kisses them. "Yes! We can go whenever you'd like. Now or in a month; it doesn't matter. But I'd like it sooner than later."

Vaz claps Trivik's back as he embraces her, and he calms himself, resting beside Gnaim who sips at a glass of water. After the meager breakfast of grapes, Gnaim leaves to his house, leaving the lusting Trivik with his hun.
