Blade Against Blade (Chapter 1:6)

Warning for younger audiences: violence and grotesque visuals, so skip the part if you aren't mature enough for it.

Trivik stares down his opponent, swinging one of his weaponized arms through the air in his general direction. The Drevillik devilishly grins with the mouth that claims his entire round head except two beady eyes where the chin should be. The mouth is filled with pointed teeth that resemble a leech's, and his body is similar. The Drevillik possesses no neck, so the head sits idly on a log-like, obsidian person. Out of the sides and his front, slender arms with humongous hands reach out, flowing in the air listlessly. His legs are thick, appearing like a rabbit's with bony knees, and he hops all the sand.

Trivik snarls, unable to think clearly in his aggravation. But the Drevillik smiles, placing his hand over the half-dead man's entire back. The poor, scrawny man shivers, placing his hands over his eyes that'll never see the light of day. The demon bends down to him, kneeling and gazing at his face with a chuckle before glancing at Trivik in a taunting manner. He places his mouth on the host's lips, breathing his words into him without the ability to speak. The vessel's chest fills and depletes with great strength as his body appears strained, and then the Drevillik removes his face from his. Trivik stares directly at the host, staying silent to hear what words the Drevillik forced into him. And so, the vessel turns with his withered face empty of emotion.

"Reapa, come ahn. Let's 'ave at it. But first, I've got ta ruin that job a yas," the vessel ear-numbingly screeches, gasping as if choked while he falls to the floor. He's conscious, though barely.

The Drevillik crouches over him like a hungry lion, grabbing onto his body while he seems to cuddle with it. When his mouth attaches to his throat like a kiss, sickening Trivik thoroughly, he bites hard, brutal screams escaping the chasm of the vessel's face.

The demon's tearing and ripping goes faster and faster and so fast that the body disappears in a few moments while the Drevillik seems to encase him like a shadow. Once done, the monster stands up, wiping his face from fresh blood that's splattered onto it.

Gore rests between his fangs that grow larger. Claws grow on the massive hands protruding his body that becomes more like a grizzly bear's, and his size is much bigger, having taken all the mass of the host.

Damn it!

Trivik's eyes narrow, and he widens his shoulders with the knowledge he failed to save the vessel when he's the only Reaper with the capability. This body; it now belongs to the Drevillik wholly.

Trivik advances on the Drevillik who deeply laughs with thunder's booming volume. The demon extends one of his arms into the shape of an axe, slashing it near Trivik awkwardly since it's attached to his body. Trivik whips his left scythe, blade hitting blade powerfully. His other praying mantis hand swings at the Drevillik's jugular, but the monster jumps back, roaring angrily.

The bodies come crashing back together, the axe blade caught in both scythes, and Trivik roundhouse kicks. However, the shortness of his leg causes the blow to land on the Drevillik's thigh instead of his side where he intended. With little attention to his arms for an instance, the monster takes his turn, ducking swiftly and thrusting the sharp point at the top of the axe blade into Trivik's stomach, and the man senses an excruciating pain as something comes up his punctured abdomen. White goo gushes from his mouth, spattering the demon.

Though lightheaded from blood loss and organ injury, Trivik merely groans as he persists. He hops back to recover, growling. The Drevillik storms Trivik, and the man, in a quick motion, slides to the left. The monster runs past Trivik, so he takes advantage, charging behind him and slashing across his shoulder blades with his scythe. Black liquid drips down his back, splattering onto the floor, and the Drevillik shouts, spinning around with his foot in the air. It plants on Trivik's side, and he's swung off balance, crashing to the ground nearby.

The demon sprints to where he landed, and Trivik attempts to jump to his feet, but he collapses, lying helplessly. The Drevillik bends his knee, diving it into Trivik's stomach, and the Reaper's eyes shout louder than his voice which comes out like a soft breeze.

Again and again, the knee digs into Trivik, and he curls into a ball while gripping his body with fingers he sprouts to take over the scythes. The Drevillik laughs hysterically, and Trivik's eyes water as an image of Sun flashes through his mind.

Sun. I'm sorry, Sun. I've failed as a brother, and now you'll fall like the real ball of flame on the horizon. I named you Sun since you shine in my eyes, but now it's because you'll sink into darkness and give birth to shadows.
