Violet's POV:

Dear Diary,

(Flashback)
It's been a while since I last poured my thoughts into these pages. Recent events have left me with little time to reflect and vent here.

The past few days have been nothing but eventful, to say the least. Let me begin by telling you about what happened with my newfound friend; Emma. No, we didn't argue, but let me tell you what happened that day.

We were basking in the simple joy of laughter and giggles—a rare occurrence for me lately with all the events that had went down. It was a Sunday afternoon, and Emma had come over to help me study.

Despite the fact that studying was the probably the most boring thing ever , I found myself having a good time, free to be myself. A stark contrast to being with Ivy, where I always had to stay silent.

For once, I'd discovered a friendship that allowed me to let my guard down and reveal my true self.

Since our first lunch together, we began spending more time together—during lunch breaks, outside of school, and in shared classes. I was no longer constantly plagued by unhappiness; it felt like a weight had been lifted off of my shoulders.

As we lay on my bed surrounded by our work books, Emma cleared her throat, drawing my attention. She shared a piece of news: her family was moving to a new house. Her room would be more spacious, prompting my genuine excitement. I offered to help decorate it. However, a subtle frown crossed her face when I mentioned the move to a bigger room.

Sensing something amiss, I inquired, "Is everything okay? You can always tell me.'"She cut me off abruptly, revealing the twist—"The house is in another city."It took a moment for the reality to sink in. "So does that mean...?"I started, and she confirmed, "It means I'm changing schools."

She acknowledged that she should've shared this earlier but was caught up in the excitement. I forced a smile that didn't meet my eyes , expressing how much I would miss her, while deep down, the realization of losing my only friend lingered. We then resumed our study session.

In the following days, as we spent our remaining time together, I found myself treasuring each moment.

We explored our favorite spots in town, took countless pictures, and shared stories as if trying to imprint these memories in our minds.

Emma, however, seemed to sense my internal struggle, and there were moments when her gaze lingered on me with concern.

The day before her move , We exchanged promises to keep in touch, but the uncertainty of the future weighed heavily on my heart.

The day of her departure, as we stood in front of her family's packed car, I offered a brave smile, holding back tears dreading the fact that I could possibly loose my only genuine friend here.

She hugged me tightly, whispering words of gratitude and friendship. As she pulled away, she handed me a small envelope, saying, "Open it when I'm gone."

With a final wave, Emma stepped into the car, and the vehicle disappeared down the street, leaving me standing on the sidewalk with the envelope in my hands. I stored it into one of my drawers but I never opened it as I forgot about it.

In the days that followed, the absence of Emma's presence was palpable. I missed our laughter, our shared secrets, and the comfort of having a true friend.

As the days passed, Ivy and her loyal little minions became more and more relentless in their attempts to make my life at school a living hell. Ivy, the mastermind, orchestrated various schemes to humiliate me, clearly driven by the desire to make me leave the school.

The so called "accidents" were anything but subtle. Ivy "accidentally" spilled her coffee on me, staining my clothes, and then her friend played their part by "accidentally" causing Ivy to drop a tray of food on me, leaving my once pristine uniform in a sorry state of orange splotches.

These incidents were just the tip of the iceberg. Ivy took every opportunity that was presented upon her to humiliate me, making snarky comments during class or belittling me when I dared to raise my hand. It was a constant battle against her devious tactics.

The pinnacle of her pettiness came when I found myself framed for an incident I knew nothing about – a girl getting suspended. I didn't even know the girl yet
I was accused for snitching on her and getting it suspended.

It was honeslty ridiculous, I mean they were in highschool acting like middle schoolers . The aftermath was a wave of sidelong glances and degrading comments in the hallways, with whispers of "snitch" following me wherever I went.

Fortunately, after the storm passed of Ivy's stunts, she seemed to lose interest and moved on to her next target. Whether her falling back was temporary or not, I remained on guard, haunted by the fear that her bullying could resurface at any moment.

Ever since Emma's departure and Ivy's punishment, school had transformed into a desolate and lonely place. Losing my close friend left a void that echoed through the hallways.

While acquaintances existed, those connections didn't blossom into friendships. They were simply people that would smile at me in the hallways or that I'd sit next to during class.

Lunches and breaks became solitary moments, and the school's garden became my refuge—a serene escape from the chaotic social dynamics of the school. The garden, adorned with a variety of flowers and lush greenery, offered some kind of internal peace.

One day, as I sat alone near the garden during lunch, a girl approached me. With long golden blonde hair and captivating eyes, she introduced herself as Kiara.

Intriguingly, she confessed to noticing my solitary lunches and extended an invitation to join her and her friends. I hesitated for a moment, perplexed by the unexpected gesture, but Kiara's warmth quickly put me at ease.

Accepting her invitation, I followed Kiara to the other side of the garden, where her friends Imani and Layla awaited. Kiara introduced me to her friends Imani & Kayla.

The initial discomfort melted away as they welcomed me into their circle. Learning that they were seniors and shared a passion for books, much like myself, eased my reservations.

Soon, our shared lunches evolved into a daily routine, and Kiara, Imani, and Layla became my newfound friends.

In their company, the loneliness that once haunted my school days lifted since Emma's departure, replaced by genuine connections and shared laughter.

Finally, I had found a small but meaningful group of friends with whom I enjoyed spending time.
