Episode 7: Blacksheep

The picture is Hiro.

"We have a problem." Kenya sated as he and Kaiya walked into the door way.

"What is it?" Michiko asked setting down her book and looking confused.

"Satoru said he forgot to check something about our club. Which he almost never does, but he did do, why did he have to do it now?"

"Kenya." Michiko stared authoritatively. She stood and walked over to him. "You're rambling get to the point."

"Right sorry." Kenya let out a breath. "We don't have a staff representative."

"What? I got one when I started the club last year..." Michiko replied.

"Yes, but miss Shirogami retired this year, so she's no longer eligible to represent the club."

"Then this is a problem..." Michiko trailed off.

"What's the big deal?" Setsuna asked as he laid back across multiple chairs nonchalantly. A notebook draped over his face to keep the sun out of his eyes. "Can't we just go to the staffroom and ask one of them to be our representative, and what about the Principal, I'm sure he'd be glad to support us."

"The principal isn't allowed to be a staff representative. Otherwise almost every club would be formed..." Michiko frowned at his usual careless nature. "And most teachers and staff will say no. They'll already be representing a club, or not want to get too involved anyway. Trust me it took me forever to find someone to represent the club last year..."

"You went through that much work just to form a club you knew no body would join?" Setsuna asked lifting the notebook from half of his face to look at her. "Wow bookworm."

"Just because I made a fake club, doesn't mean I didn't work for it!" Michiko snapped.

"Back to the subject at hand please." Kenya tried to reason. "What are we gonna do?"

"We are going to do exactly what Setsuna-kun said we'd do!" Atsuto stood up confidently.

"Don't call me that..." Setsuna muttered looking at him strangely, but was ignored.

"We are going to go to the staff room and find a club rep. No matter how hard it may be, we have to make it over this obstacle, for the sake of the Extra Credit Club!" Atsuto pointed to the door. "Onwards friends!"

The rest of them watched him go with strange expressions, before they broke down, and decided to just follow him.

"So you seriously asked almost all these teachers before?" Kaiya asked.

"Yes." Michiko sighed gripping the staff approval form in her hand.. "And almost all of them shot me down..."

"So then... what are we gonna do?" Atsuto asked.

"Well normal teachers may not say yes, but someone else could." Michiko replied. "We just need someone careless, and stupid."

"I know someone." Setsuna sighed in annoyance. He then clicked his tongue. "Normally I would never suggest him, but we are desperate... come with me Pres."

Michiko followed him into the staff room.

"Eyy!!! SETSUNA!" A loud voice boomed through the staff room, annoying the teachers working around them. A tall male with spiked orange hair strode up to him. "It sure has been a while! Heard you've been keeping out of trouble. Good, no use following the path of that no good cousin of yours!" He laughed boisterously ruffling Setsuna's hair roughly. "How's he doing anyway?"

Setsuna annoyingly pushed his hand away, and tried to hold in his bubbling anger. "Fine coach."

"That's too bad... So! How can I help ya this fine day?" He asked.

"How'd you even know we were here to see you?" Michiko asked seeming unamused.

The coach seemed to just notice her standing behind Setsuna, and raised a brow curiously before his self confident grin returned. "Well little lady, who else would you be here for?! He put a hand to his chest proudly. "I know how much the students of this school value their good old coach Toku, and it may be a lot of pressure, but I will continue to be the cool and amazing figure head they need in their life!" He stood there looking arrogantly into the distance at nothing like he was waiting for applause.

Setsuna leaned down to Michiko and whispered to her. "He won't sign it if he really knows what it is, so you'll have to trick him. Think you can handle that?"

"You're kidding right?" Michiko looked to him with a straight face and narrow eyes.

Setsuna chuckled.

"You're right Toru-sensei, we do look up to you a lot, I am such a fan!" Michiko put on a higher pitch fake voice. "Of you wouldn't mind... do you think I can have your autograph?"

Toru looked at her in surprise, it then laughed again. "Well I don't usually give it away, but you're a nice girl, and Setsuna's friend, so I'll make an exception!"

"Great right here please." She pointed at the dotted line on the form, and held out a pen to him.

Without thinking twice about it the man snatched up the pen and signed his name right where she asked.

"Thank you so much!" She gushed before they started to quickly leave the room.

"You're welcome dear student!" He shouted after them.

"Did you do it?" Kenya asked as they joined the rest of the group in the hall.

"This is why you guys should trust me more." Setsuna cracked his knuckles proudly.

"You were right..." Michiko smiled slightly looking at the signed form. "He really was stupid."

After turning the form in to a very pleased Satoru the club thought it was about time to go home.

Michiko had just picked up a few items on her list she needed for dinners, and by a few that meant six bags full.

She was struggling slightly to hold them all as she walked out of the store.

"Good night!" She shopkeeper waved to her.

"Good night." She force a polite smile before walking out onto the streets. She sighed as the night air hit her face, and she started her walk home.

She suddenly felt one of the bags slipping from her wrist and panicked slightly trying to catch it, but it was already too late.

To her luck a hand came from behind her and caught it before it crashed to the ground.

"Oh thank you so much." She then widened her eyes slightly when she saw who it was. "Hiro?"

"You alright there Michiko? Seems like you have a bit too much to carry." The blond said with a straight face.

"You remembered my name." She said in surprise.

"Of course. I told you I wouldn't forget it." He let a small smile grace his lips. "Let me help you." He took three of the bags.

"Thank you." She replied and he fell into step with her as she walked. "It's strange seeing you act so gentlemanly after the other day."

"Ah yes, I have to apologize for my behavior then. You see Setsuna just seems to bring out the worst in me." He explained. "I hope you don't think of me badly because of it."

"Yes, but you also hang out with those three miscreants." She pointed out.

He chuckled. "They may get into a bit of trouble now and then, but I assure you they are completely harmless."

"Harmless?" Michiko laughed like the term was amusing.

"Yes. I know it may not seem that way, but they are." He replied. "Guy and Kei are cousins, they moved here a few years ago. They came from a neighborhood where you had to act tough in order to survive. When Sie befriended and introduced them to me, even I was skeptical, but there is something about Sie that just brings out the best in people. He redeemed them."

"Yeah and what is Sie's story then?" Michiko asked casually. "He seems to be the one to respect you the most."

"Childhood friend." He answered. "I met him a long time ago. You may not believe this, but I was an arrogant child, and when he started following me around I was annoyed at first. But then I just gave up on being stubborn I guess." He paused. "A few years later his mother died... he kind of changed a little after that."

Michiko looked at him surprised he shared something like that with her. He was so cold all of the time she didn't expect him to say something like that. "And what about you, what's your story?"

"My story?" He chuckled slightly. "Trust me my story would bore you to death..." he looked ahead of them, and Michiko could tell he really didn't want to get in that subject so she dropped it.

"Then how did you get involved with Setsuna?" She asked.

"To be honest I don't really remember." He sighed like just the thought of Setsuna annoyed him greatly. "Guess I just don't care enough."

"Back at the park you called him a blackguard, and said he was in a disgraceful situation..." Michiko trailed off. "What did you mean by that? What happened to him?"

"Oh come on Michiko, not even I am that cruel as to share such personal information... but don't worry, I'm sure one day you'll learn the tragic story of the black-sheep known as Setsuna." He replied and stopped walking as she did.

She looked to the side seemingly in thought.

"Don't worry too much over it okay?" He placed a finger under her chin, and made her look up again. "You're too pretty to get frown lines." He smiled.

She watched him for a second before stepping back. "Well this is me." She referred to the house they had stopped in front of. "Thank you for your help."

"You're welcome." He replied handing her the rest of the bags. He then opened the short gate for her allowing her to step into her yard, and closed it behind her. "Have a good night Michiko."

"You too." She replied.

"Till next time." He waved before putting his hands in his pocket and leaving down the street.

She watched him go for a while before turning to go into her house.
