Episode 5 part 3 Club Checkup

Hey guys part 3 yay

"Back to business." He pushed his glasses up making them glint in the light. "Let the Checkup commence." He pulled out his handy list. "First things first you must have at least four members." He looked around at all of them . "Check. Now have a suitable clubroom or field. Check."

"We do qualify as a club right bookworm?" Setsuna asked Michiko quietly.

"I'm not sure no ones ever checked up on me before." She replied semi nervously.

"Now." Satoru started. "Every club has to do something that is helpful or entertaining to the school and it's students. I asked around and almost nobody knew who you guys were or what you contributed."

"That doesn't sound good..." Setsuna muttered.

"Shush." Michiko waved him off.

"I talked to dozens of people, and I was about to give up hope when two young ladies overheard me talking about you. They said you helped them work out a personal problem they were having. So I'm wondering... is that what the Extra Credit Club is all about? Helping people?"

"It sure is!" Atsuto chirped. "Our soul purpose is to help the poor souls who come to us in need. You figured it out good job." He clapped quietly.

"How can he smile that big while lying through his teeth?" Setsuna asked no one in particular.

"I don't think he is lying..." Kenya said sweat dropping from his head. "At least not in his mind."

"Great, that means you would have all the requirements of a real club." Satoru smiled.

"Thank God." Michiko sighed in relief.

"Of course you'll have to prove it." The President added.

"What?" Michiko felt the stress return.

"Prove what exactly?" Kaiya asked quietly tilting her head to the side.

"That you do what you say you do of course." He replied. "And I already have someone in line. Sia?"

The young Vice President walked into the room with a worried expression. She bowed in greeting giving a small. "Hello."

"Sia here has a problem she needs your help with." Satoru explained.

"What seems to be the issue?" Michiko asked.

"Well um..." she seemed to be blanking on her name for a minute for a moment.

"Michiko, you're in my class. I sit behind you..." sweat dropped from the club leaders head.

"Right!" Sia smiled nervously. "Your name just slipped my mind I apologize."

"Oh..." Michiko whined quietly to herself. "Never mind, just tell us how we can help."

"Well you see, my little black spotted cat found her way outside the door yesterday. We've looked everywhere, but my parents are too busy to look for her and it's been all night long. Not to mention all the time I've been at school, no ones seen her." Sia spoke the whole time wearing a frown. "Her name's Sofia, and it really would help to have some extra eyes out there looking for her."

"Well we'd be glad to hel-" Michiko was cut off by the loud sudden scrapping of a chair behind them, as Kurami suddenly stood from her desk, closing her homework dramatically on top of it.

The other members couldn't help, but watch her in confused nervousness as she walked toward their client, her bangs shadowing over her face as she walked with her head down.

She then suddenly grabbed Sia's hands her head shooting up to look into her eyes. "Don't worry we'll find your kitty and we'll do it tonight."

"What?!" The remaining five members all asked in complete shock at the cold hearted girl's sudden change in attitude.

"I thought you hated being in this club..." Setsuna raised an eyebrow crossing his arms.

"There is no time to be sitting around talking about such useless nonsense when there's a poor little kitty missing!" She suddenly pointed at him. She then turned back around. "It's our duty to find and protect the fluffy adorable little creature."

The other members just gave her blank stares.

"Uh..." Kenya suddenly said quietly. "Did she just go completely out of character because of a... cat?"

"I think she did." Kaiya smiled nervously sweat dropping from her head.

"Great I really appreciate you guys going out to find her. Here's a picture." Sia pulled out a flyer handing it to Kurami.

"Let's go!" Said girl shouted in annoyance as she left the room.

"Ha ha... come on guys" Michiko laughed nervously as she and the others followed their clubmate.

"See you Satoru." Kenya gave a quick wave.

"Bye!" He replied back like nothing that just happened was even remotely strange.

-&-

"How exactly are we supposed to find a little cat in this big of an area?" Setsuna sighed like he was annoyed with the job they were forced into.

"Sia lives close to the school, so Sophie couldn't have gone too far." Kenya sated.

"How do you know that?" Setsuna asked raising a brow.

"She's Student Council Vice President, and Satoru used to like to drag me to a bunch of events with them." He explained.

"Either way it's still a big chunk of the city we have to search. We should split into two groups." Michiko said.

"Alright I'll be with the bookw-" Setsuna started.

"No." Michiko interrupted him firmly. "Setsuna you go with Kenya and Kurami. Kaiya and Atsuto can come this way with me. Come on." She turned and started walking, the two she chose following behind her.

"What was that reaction about?" Setsuna asked moderately surprised by her rejection.

"Probably because you annoy her." Kenya said like it was obvious, standing casually with his hands in his pockets.

"Oh shut up!" Setsuna snapped making the nerdy boy snicker.

"We need to hurry!" Kurami suddenly exclaimed. "There's a poor little kitty out there scared and alone..." She balled her hand into a fist dramatically, before walking off in front of them.

"Oh boy..." Setsuna grumbled following behind with Kenya. "So... he trailed off leaning over to see kurami's face. "You like cats huh?"

"Is that surprising?" She asked violently. She gave him a side glare.

"I guess not." He replied fixing his posture slightly.

"It's just weird because out of all the members, we know nothing about you the most." Kenya pointed out. "You hardly ever talk and when you do you always sound annoyed."

"That's because I am." She said simply. "Besides I don't usually talk to obnoxious people who have no use to me."

"Harsh~" Setsuna replied.

There was a long silence as they walked.

She suddenly stopped in front of the park. "Sophie!" She pointed dramatically at the small, slightly dirty creature laying in the grass a slight distance away. She started off toward it quickly.

"Kurami! Don't just run off!" Kenya shouted as he and Setsuna darted after her. "It's dangerous!"

"Yeah and we already look crazy enough..." Setsuna muttered.

"Come here kitty..." Kurami cooed slowing down as she got closer.

The kitten took off on the other direction. Kurami following.

"Great...' Setsuna rolled his eyes.

"Just come on!" Kenya pulled him along.

-&-

"How long have we been searching..?" Atsuto let out a breath looking up to see the sun had started going down.

"A few hours, but don't not worry I'm sure we'll find her soon." Kaiya said softly.

"I sure hope..." Michiko mumbled.

Suddenly they stopped when her phone rang loudly.

She dug through her bag pulling out the lime green phone and flipping it open. "Hello?"

"Hey, bookworm." Setsuna's arrogant voice came from the other end. "We found her."

"You did?" She asked surprised. "Did you catch her?"

"Uh... yeah... Kurami's got a pretty good handle on her..." Setsuna looked over to Kurami who was smothering the poor confused creature.

"So... much... running..." Kenya panted leaning against a tree.

"That's great. Meet us back at the school and-" she suddenly stoped talking a blank expression spreading across her face. "Wait a second... HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET MY NUMBER?!"

He chuckled. "I may have stole it off the receipt at the sandwich shop."

She would have yelled again, but was too tiered to do so. "Whatever just get to the school." She snapped the phone shut and shoved to into her bag. "Let's go." She ordered turning on her heal.

-&-

"Welcome back!" Satoru waved from the front gates of the school as they all trudged back.

"You found her!" A smile spread across Sia's face. She ran up taking Sophie from Kurami and hugging her, causing the animal to automatically start to purr.

Kurami gave a small wine frowning.

"I'm starting she just wanting to find the cat so she could have her..." Kenya whispered to Setsuna and Atsuto.

"All in a day's work." Michiko forced a polite smile.

"Thank you so much!" Sia waved before starting to walk home with her companion in arm.

"Well Extra Credit Club, you've officially passed your club checkup!" Satoru checked off the last box dramatically, his glasses tinting in the sun before he raised his arms. "Congratulations!"

"Thank god..." Michiko let out a sigh.

"I'm expecting great things from you guys." Satoru said more seriously giving a more sincere smile. He then tucked his clipboard under his arm, and turned around. They watched his back and disappeared into the school.

He was one of the first of many to see their potential...
