Episode 2 part 2: A real club

"This is really ridiculous." Michiko said and she vexingly removed some of the plywood from the windows and threw it in the big wastebasket the janitor let them borrow. She really would much rather be reading. And reading alone for that matter.

"You're telling me." Setsuna agreed. "I joined this club to do nothing and not get expelled, not play clean the classroom."

"Why don't we just try to find the fun in things. That way it won't be so hard to do." Kaiya suggested timidly. "That's what my parents always tell me."

"I honestly don't care what your parents say, and I don't see anyway to make this fun." Setsuna sighed renouncing her suggestion harshly.

Kaiya shrunk down a bit seemingly in slight fear.

"What she's saying is we have to do it so there's no use complaining, or getting all worked up over it." Kenya grumbled fixing the position of his glasses. "So just get to work."

"Hey when I want an annoying brainiac to boss me around you'll be the first one I'll tell, okay?" Setsuna rolled his eyes.

"If you two don't knock it off I'll break the both of you." Michiko gritted through her teeth. Her grip tightened so hard on the broom she was using that you could almost hear it cracking, and a dangerous aura built of angry and annoyance surrounded her.

Both Kenya and Setsuna backed off, flinching slightly, and taking a step away from her.

She was scary when angry...

"Well we're almost done with the cleaning and then we can decorate!" Atsuto stated enthusiastically with his usual grin.

He was right. The windows were now uncovered and cleaned so a nice amount of sunlight lit up the formerly dark back corner room of the school. The desks, chalkboard, ceiling, and other miscellaneous things had been dusted so the room got back its somewhat of a shine. And Michiko had just finished up sweeping the floor and pouring the dust into the wastebasket.

"Alright!" Atsuto clapped once. "Time for the second half of the work." He pointed a finger toward Kenya. "Kenya take the trash out." He then moved his finger over to Kaiya. "Kaiya you put the cleaning supplies back in the closet and give the janitor his things back."

"Right!" The both of them nodded and did as they were told.

"Club president-" Atsuto started before he was cut off by her.

"Wait." Michiko shook her head. "Before you tell me what to do I've got to ask. Why do you call me that?"

"Um... Well..." Atsuto became nervous and he scratched the back of his neck. A sweet drop formed on his head. "I kinda... forgot your name."

"What?! You remembered Kenya and Kaiya but you forgot the name of your club president?!" She seemed quite offended. What he didn't know is that this kind of thing happened to her all the time. For some reason people just couldn't remember her or her name. It was like some sort of curse. "I'm Michiko."

"Sorry it just slipped my mind... It won't happen again." He gave a nervous laugh. "Now, Michiko, will you please go and get some colourful chalk from the art club."

"Fine, and you better not forget again. Write it on your hand if you have to." She left the room with arms crossed.

"Now the rest of us." He picked up the two boxes putting on the desks in the front row. "We can start making our decorations."

All the members were now back from their assigned jobs and were all participating in making decorations for the room. The girls were mostly making colorful layered flowers. Michiko and Kiaya stuck to making them out of pinks, greens, and other bright colors while Kurami preferred making them out of darker blues and purples. Kenya was making an assortment of cool origami figures. and Setsuna (of course) was making skulls and cross bones. So in all there were many different types of decorations.

"Wow Kaiya you're amazing at this!" Atsuto complimented her with a sportive smile. "Would you help me with something?"

Kaiya smiled sincerely for the first time that week. She was glad that someone was finally being friendly to her. "Sure!" They got up and started to take the chalk to write on the board.

After they were done making the decorations they all helped put them up. It was a mix match of things like flowers skulls, and various origami animals, and honesty did look a little strange. But it was all of them put together into one thing. And although they didn't admit it they knew it made the room look better.

Little did they know this was only one tiny step faith had them take to come together.

"I'm going to go return some books to the library I'll be right back." Michiko explained. "Um..." She seemed to be thinking for a moment. Kurami you're in charge." She then left.

"And done!" Atsuto exclaimed as him and Kaiya finished the board. In big fancy colourful letters was written: Extra Credit Club! "Now this feels like a club room!"

"I like it." Kaiya smiled quietly.

"Well I don't. Honestly this whole thing is stupid. What a waste of my time." Setsuna grumbled making Kaiya smile flatten.

"Come on man why do you have to do that?" Kenya asked I annoyance.

"Do what exactly." Setsuna stood tall over him.

"Crush everyone's good mood. Honestly can't you ever say something nice that doesn't upset people. No wonder why you're such a loner." Kenya scoffed.

Setsuna grabbed him by his shirt collar lifting him up a bit. "Listen here brainiac I'm getting quite annoyed with the constant attitude you're spewing. Do you really want me to teach you a lesson?"

"Shouldn't you be doing something?" Kaiya asked Kurami.

"Not my problem." She mumbled simply.

"Not your problem? B-but Michiko left you in charge right?" Atsuto pointed out.

"Doesn't make a difference to me if they tear each other apart. It's not like I wanna be here anyway much less be in charge." She replied in a bored tone.

Kenya didn't even flinch he had a smirk plastered on his face. "Go ahead, won't be anything new. Go on and beat me up make everyone here afraid of you. So go ahead become your stereotype. Delinquent. The only reason why I piss you off so much is because you know I'm right. You're nothing but an angsty teenager hiding behind a scary look and a dangerous personality."

Setsuna growled and pulled his elbow back sharply, his hand forming into a fist.

Michiko got back and saw the scene in front of her. She was about to yell but was cut off.

"That is quit enough!" The furious voice of the principle boomed from the doorway. It was so loud and so sudden that everyone, but the two parties involved in the fighting, jumped.

Setsuna reluctantly put Kenya down. Kenya just rubbed his neck, both males glaring at each other.

"This school has a NO violence policy, especially between members of the same club! Now Setsuna I don't care who started this or who was egging on who, I expect you to behave yourself, and get along with your club mates!" His voice lowered only slightly. "And I expect that from ALL of you! I for one am extremely disappointed in the actions of this club. If you can't learn to work together civility I'll have to punish you all. But... I am deciding to be nice. So instead of punishing you I'm going to force you to fix the problem."

"What exactly do you mean?" Kurami asked.

"You all will spend time together. And not just during club time. After school at lunch I don't care, but it will happen. I expect you to all act friendly as well, and I will be asking you about each other so pay attention." The principle smirked like he was quite proud of himself.

"Tch you can't force us to do that." Setsuna crossed his arms in annoyance.

"Oh I can, or I will shut this club down, I will call your parents, and Setsuna in your case I will Expel you!" He turned and left out the door slamming it behind him.

"Well that's just great." Michiko sat down in her seat. "This most definatly is going to be a long year."
