Episode 2 part 1: A Real Club

Hey everyone! I know not a lot of people will read this, but thank you anyway. I'm sorry if this chapter makes you dislike the characters, but they still are not developed, so don't judge them too harshly yet. Stick with it and I promise you'll love them!

The Extra Credit Club had been meeting for three days, including that first, and nothing between the members had changed.

Michiko still sat in the back of the room reading, and despite being the club president, she did nothing.

Although that is to be expected for a club that was made up in the first place.

The other members mostly did homework, or in Setsuna's case sat with his feet propped up trying to throw crumbled up balls of paper into the wastebasket.

Kaiya tried chatting with her internet friends, but most of them were offline because they themselves were in extracurricular activities, and the remaining few where in a group chat that she felt very left out of. She sighed closing her laptop and placing her head down with a sad sigh. She was starting to see that although internet friends are nice, they'll never be as good as a real bestfriend, of which she never had.

Kenya saw her sad expression and felt a little sympathy toward her. Kenya always seemed to be that guy who just joked around, never taking anything people say or feel seriously. He was amazingly smart, and to anyone on the outside he would look like a snob who wanted to shove his academic achievements into people's faces. Which he kind of did... In all reality he was a decently nice guy. Decently... "Hey guys considering this is a club, maybe we should do something." He said a hint of attitude in his tone.

"Yeah..." Kaiya smiled weakly at Kurami. "How about it?"

"Do what you want just don't bother me." Kurami muttered completely shoving off his suggestion and Kaiya's feelings.

Kaiya frowned even more and shrunk down into her chair.

"And I don't exactly find it fun to do things with losers." Setsuna sighed in his usual 'I don't give a crap' attitude.

"Says the biggest loser in the room." Kenya turned toward him with a smirk.

"What did you say pipsqueak?!" Setsuna asked sitting up into a threatening position. "Let's see how much your mouth moves when my fist bruises it!"

All the commotion around was making Michiko very angry, to say the least. She made this club to find a quiet place to read, and in her mind all these annoyances were ruining it. Although she didn't raise her voice the overwhelming anger in her speech was prominent. "If you fight I'll kick you out of the club, and then you'll be in more trouble with the principle than you can ever even imagine." She didn't even glance up from her book, but her expression turned scary. "So everyone calm down and just shut up."

Setsuna's growled and went back into his laid-back position.

"You don't even scare me, wannabe delinquent." Kenya muttered quietly and turned back around in his seat.

"Alright!" Atsuto, the only member who had been missing the last two days, exclaimed as he ran into the room. (Since there was currently no door to knock down again). "Your club planner is finally done with the prep work for our first activity!"

Once again they were all surprised by the overexcited boy rushing in. They all probably honestly thought that after his absence, over the couple days, that he had quit because he didn't want to be around such a kill-joy group of people, or thought that he had found a better club to join. But there he was with that big ear to ear smile looking at all of them, seeming so excited for whatever he had planned.

"What first activity?" Michiko asked finally putting her book down, but not closing it.

"Decorating our club room of course!" He laughed happily. "This place is so dreary, and dusty... We need to spice it up a bit!"

It was true that the old classroom in the back corner of the school wasn't exactly up to code. Spiderwebs littered the ceiling and dust covered the unused desks and chalkboard. Half the Windows, although in fine condition, were blocked up with plywood. The walls were covered in chipping paint and some panels in the ceiling had water damage. There was even a metal bucket on the floor to catch the water of a leak when it rained. Not to mention the room was empty and had no splash of color anywhere.

"So let's go! Oh and also club president I felt bad for breaking the door, and I can tell you really like books, so I got you a bookcase to go in the back of the room. Right behind where you always sit."

"Oh... Um well thank you?" Michiko was confused. A stranger had never done anything so nice for her before.

"No problem, bring it in guys!" He called out the doorway.

"Guys?" They all asked a aura of confusion washing over the room.

Two men in movers uniforms both carrying one end of a large bookcase made there way into the room. They set it up in the back, and it was so tall it almost reached to the ceiling. The two men also fixed the door quickly and then left, not saying a word the whole time.

"Great now it's our turn!" He walked out of the room briefly and came back with two boxes full of colorful crafting items. "We can all make what we want and then the room will be a mixture of everyone in our club! Everyone gets their own sense of expressing their creativity."

"Where did you get all of this stuff, and where did those guys come from?" Kaiya asked.

"Oh, I bought it all and hired them with my allowance money." He replied like it was the most casual thing in the world.

Sweat dropped from their heads.

"Just how big is your allowance...?" Kenya muttered, but wasn't actually looking for an answer.

"I don't care how trashy the room looks. There is no way I'm doing arts and crafts." Setsuna's crossed his arms.

Atsuto ignored his negativity. "Alright enough lazing around, let's get started! We should probably clean first." He zipped to the back of the room and opened the storage closet causing a bunch of brooms, mops, and other cleaning supplies to fall out and crash onto the floor. "Oops..."

"Why clean a room that I'm hardly going to use. It's pointless." Kurami finally spoke again. She rested her chin in the palm of her hand and looked like she was bored and unfazed by the current situation. Her expression was flat and her voice was cold. "And I'd appreciate it if you'd knock it off with the over the top happy attitude. Acting like this so called club is going to all come together and have fun like a bunch of best friends. Tch people like you annoy me. I made it clear that I'm not looking to be friendly with any of you, so leave me out of your useless club activities."

"Oh come on everyone wants friends." The smile never left Atsuto's face. "No one wants to be alone."

Kurami's usually expressionless face couldn't help but show a little surprise at his words, but it quickly turned to anger. "Listen, I-"

"Hello Extra Credit Club!" The principle came in opening the (newly fixed) door and cutting her off. "How are we all today?"

"U-uh sir!" Michiko stood up tall stepping to the side of the desk and bowing slightly to him. "I hope you are doing well this afternoon. What brings you here?"

"Suck up." Setsuna muttered in her direction.

She shot him a glare.

"Just seeing how the clubs doing after the added members." He replied. "What do you all have planned for today."

Atsuto ran over to him. He stood up tall and brought his hand to his head in a salute. He spoke firmly almost like a solider in the military. "We are going to decorate our club room, sir."

"Oh and who are you?" The principle asked.

"Atsuto, second year, official activity planner for the Extra Credit Club, sir." He never moved from his stance.

"Well glad to have you aboard I guess..." The principle said. "I'll let you all carry on with your decorating. And I want everyone participating in all club activities." He turned his stare to Setsuna. "If not Setsuna I will expel you, and Kurami I will contact your guardians. Have fun, and I will be checking in." He left out the door leaving them all alone again.

"Great just great." Setsuna muttered in annoyance. "This is going to be a long year."
