-The show glorifies and simplifies suicide and mental health issues. It gives the wrong message about these issues, giving the idea that Hannah could have been saved if Clay loved her. 

-The counsellor doesn't take Hannah seriously

-Hannah blames others for her death.

-There is no suicide help, and the school deals with Hannah's death really badly.

-The only character development done for Hannah was around her mental illness

-Depicts self harm as a simple alternative to suicide when it is really much more than that

-There was no suicide/self harm warning at the beginning of the show [or at all], even after the the writers were advised to add one

-Breaks several of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's guidelines on reporting suicide. The scenes are too graphic, and there is no help or advice for people suffering
