6: Another Test
After obtaining a video message from the principal of U.A. stating that you passed the final exam, you called up Katsuki, Kiri, and Izu separately, inquiring whether or not they made it into the academy that is famous for instructing the best heroes of your time. You were not surprised to find your favorite ash-blonde screaming over the phone, claiming that he did pass the exam and that he was the absolute bomb during the exam. You were also not surprised to have your next phone call to the newly red-haired Kiri be answered with joy and excitement on the other end. However, your next phone call was made with hesitation, scared to find out if Izu truly did fail for saving another possible classmate's life and obtaining no points whatsoever.

"Um, hello Izu, how are you doing? You really damaged your body from using your quirk."
"I uh, I'm okay. I'm actually quite ecstatic despite being in an uncomfortable cast."
"Is that so, did you get into U.A.? I know we all have been preparing for this opportunity for a while, especially you, Izu."
"I did."
You sighed with relief, "I'm glad that you did get in. It makes sense, after all, everyone else ran away from the giant opponent while you punched the absolute shit out of it for Uraraka."
"U-U-Uraraka? You know her?"
"Yeah, not personally, but we went to the same middle school and had a majority of the same classes. Anyway, I was confused as to why you would hide your quirk from us this whole time, but now I understand why. It causes injuries, so it makes sense not to show it off. Or perhaps you just now manifested it due to the adrenaline rush and determination to save Uraraka?"
"..."
"Um, hello? Izu?"
"You got into U.A., right (y/n)?"
"Oh! Yes, I did! I'm excited to know that we're going to be attending the academy of our dreams!"
"That's great! I'm proud of you. Um hey, my mom's calling me to the kitchen to celebrate. I'll talk to you later. See you at the academy."
"Alright, see ya!"

After hanging up, you realized that Izu changed the subject when you inquired about his quirk. Despite the curiosity kickstarting your imaginative mind, you shrugged, letting this weird act from Izu slide since you were just happy that all your friends made it into the academy. There would be no sense in dwelling about a change in subject from Izu, especially since you needed to get yourself prepared for your upcoming classes this week. Nothing could get in the way of your shared happiness now.

"Hello!"
"Idiot, answer the first time it rings!"
"Settle down, Bakubro! I have precious ears I need to listen to (y/n)'s melodious voice, ya know."
"I'll be sure to blast them off then."
"Yeah yeah, anyways, why'd ya call Bakubro? Usually, you prefer to let me spam call you until you pick up so you can yell at me. Why are you calling me first?"
"Don't call me that. I hate to do this, but I need you to walk (y/n) to the academy on the first day. Don't make me regret trusting you to take care of (y/n), you walking wall of a loser."
"What, why? I mean, I don't mind walking her to the academy, especially since you won't yell at me for giving her a hug like you usually do, along with death threats, but why? Are you not showing up the first day?"
"Again, don't make me regret my decision. If I find out that her day has been ruined because of your ass, then so help YOU because you'll need all the help you can get when I get my hands on you! And I will be there, I just have business to attend to before you guys arrive. Don't let her out of your sight, don't let her get hurt, and don't fucking touch her, got it?"
"Jeez Bakubro, I don't know what's gotten your panties in a bundle on our first day, but I'll take care of (y/n). You really don't need to worry about that. I may not be the spear, but I will definitely be the shield, especially for (y/n). She's like a ray of sunshine!"

Katsuki hung up without hesitation, putting his phone on the charger and finally plopping down on his bed. He hazily looked up at his ceiling as he could not help but get irritated at the way Kirishima spoke of you. He hated that despite only knowing him for a month or so, you and Kirishima were very close, almost as close as you and him. He hated how you would let him invade your personal space bubble for a hug. He hated how you blushed at his compliments. He hated how you always ended up inviting him to gatherings with you and him. He hated the thought of being jealous of a dim-witted, now redhead, idiot. However, Katsuki also hated the thought of despising such a good friend, and even he could not understand why he felt this way.
"Katsuki! You better get your ass in here and celebrate with us now! I know that you're not speaking with our dearest, (y/n) anymore because you would never yell at her and call her an idiot!" yelled Katsuki's mother.
"Yeah yeah, whatever witch," responded Katsuki as he got off his bed to meet an irritated mother of his.
. . .
"Good morning, Kiri! Thanks for walking with me to the academy. I was surprised to find out that Katsuki was willingly going to let you walk me to school," you laughed as you hugged the bright, redhead.
"Me too!" agreed Kiri as he laughed.
As you two walked to the academy, you discussed many topics, such as how Izu passed, favorite comics, what Katsuki could possibly doing now, etc. Eventually, you two stopped for a quick bite at the donut shop and even picked up some donuts for your new classmates.
. . .
"Listen here, Deku, when the fuck did you get your quirk, and why have you been hiding it? You broccoli-brained idiot," stated Katsuki with one foot on Izuku's desk as he glared daggers at Izuku.
Half the class that showed up early only watched as they felt the tension boiling in the classroom. This ash-blonde was aggressively shoving questions and threats down the green-haired boy's throat for the past ten minutes
"I-I-I don't know what you mean, Kaachan," mumbled Izu as he felt sweat roll down his face.
Katsuki's face contorted with anger as his left hand started creating little explosions.
"You're fucking pissing me off, Deku!" yelled the ash-blonde.
Before Izuku could respond, you and Kirishima walk in.
"Hello future friends and colleagues!" exclaimed Kirishima with his brightest, toothy smile and a wave.
"Hello! We brought donuts if y'all want some! We only brought enough for each person to have one, so please be mindful!" you yell with excitement as your smile beamed across the room, relieving the other students already present.
After laying the donuts at the front of the room for others, you walk over to Izu's desk to meet a familiar ash-blonde and green-haired wonder.
"Hi Katsuki, hi Izu! How are y'all? I noticed that you already greeted each other. Although, you should keep your feet off the desks, Katsuki. Also, I missed walking with you today," you chimed as you are oblivious to the previous tension in the room.
"I can't promise that," slightly smiled Katsuki as he secretly glared at Izu every chance he got whenever he knew you would not notice.
Eventually, Kiri found his way near you guys and joined the conversation. As usual, Kiri would compliment you and get yelled at by Katsuki. You would calm down Katsuki as Izu fiddled with his thumbs. This process would repeat several times, causing other classmates to stare at such a dynamic group of friends. Eventually, your instructor, Mr. Aizawa, appeared in a yellow sleeping bag, looking as if he has not slept in days. You sat at a desk next to Kiri, who was in front of Izu. Katsuki sat behind you, sometimes fiddling with your hair, which surprised you a little, but did not bother you.
"Anyways, before class is dismissed," started Mr. Aizawa, "We're going to have another test, meet me outside."
Everyone around the room sighed or gasped at the announcement, hoping that Mr. Aizawa was joking. However, Mr. Aizawa walked out of the classroom without hesitation, already being followed by other students. You, Kiri, Katsuki, and Izu follow the rest, already groaning about the thought of another test.
