Set a few months after the previous chapter

~Mal's POV~

Family day was this upcoming weekend, and the whole of Auradon College was in preparation.

I thought it was dumb to have family day in college, but apparently old traditions die hard. Or they don't die at all. Never really got that saying...

One plus thing about this Family Day was that the VKs wouldn't call their parents like we had to. They'd show up in person. At least, I hoped. And not try to burn the place to the ground. Or ransack it. Or kill anybody.

I mentally slapped myself. Stop thinking that! Nothing bad will happen

That was the tiny optimistic part of my brain.

The pessimist part of my brain thought Yeah Mal, keep telling yourself that. Something's gonna go down

Then for some reason the song from Wonder Pets started playing in my mind.

Y'know, the one that goes 'what's gonna work?'

I'd randomly been scrolling through the TV channels one morning and that was on one of them. I only stayed on that channel because there was an adorable little singing duck.

A/N: Why did I include that... I'm so weird

No that's literally what just happened as I wrote this. The Wonder Pets theme song started playing in my mind.

I looked at my alarm clock on my nightstand. 4:45. Shoot. I was supposed to go help Jane, Uma, Evie, Lonnie, and Audrey with the decorating at 5 sharp.

Welp. Here goes nothing.

I quickly changed into something Evie wouldn't find repulsive and headed out the door.
